## What is Dog Walk Tracker & Log?

Walky is a dog walk tracker and log for every walk, from your puppy's first outing to your everyday route.

Walky records your dog walks with GPS: the route, the distance and the time, even when your screen is locked or you switch to another app. Tap Start Walk, head out as usual, tap Stop Walk, and the walk is saved with a map of your route.

WHAT YOU GET
• GPS dog walk tracking with a route map, distance and duration
• Keeps recording in the background, with the screen locked or while you use other apps
• Pause and resume: distance walked while paused isn't counted
• Daily walk streaks that keep your routine going
• A walk diary covering your last 14 days
• Several dogs? Choose who came along on each walk
• Pet profiles with a name, a photo and a birthday
• Daily walk reminders at the time you pick
• A shareable route card for every walk
• Works offline, no account needed
• Optional sign-in to back up and sync your walks across devices
• Dark mode, kilometers or miles

### 5/5 — Very easy to use and accurate

*2026-09-08*

We have used this Walky app for a relatively short time but find it useful to gauge how far we have walked through a very large park. The maps are excellent.

**Developer response:** Thanks, Gerry. In a big park it's hard to tell how far you've actually gone, so it's nice to hear the map and distance help with that. Enjoy your walks.

### 2/5 — Lackluster

*2026-09-02*

Just got the app. Took my dog for a 1 mile walk. App says 0.1 miles. Needs work. Update: app only works if the phone screen is unlocked and on app screen. You can’t use is if you start a walk then open another app in the foreground

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to write this, and sorry that walk didn't count properly. You were right about the cause. In the old version, tracking stopped as soon as the screen locked or another app was in front. Walky 1.1 is out now and fixes that, so your walks keep recording with the screen locked or while you use other apps, and the distance is more accurate too. If you try it again and something still seems off, email us at support@walkypetapp.com and we'll take a look.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-22

What's new in Walky 1.1:
• Walks keep recording while your screen is locked or you use another app, with no extra permissions needed.
• More accurate distance on every walk.
• Pausing and resuming now work reliably, and distance isn't counted while a walk is paused.
• Sharing a walk is faster, with a new route card.
• More reliable syncing of your walks and pets across devices.
• A new card introduces Dana, another pet-care app from the Walky team.

Thanks for walking with Walky!

### 1.0.1 — 2026-04-30

Bug fixes and stability improvements:
• Fixed a rare crash that could happen when the app reopened from the background while the phone was still locked.
• Fixed an issue where finishing a walk could fail to sync if the same walk was synced twice in quick succession.
• Smarter handling of weak or missing internet — push notification setup no longer logs spurious errors when you're offline.

Thanks for using Walky! Walk happy.
