### 1/5 — Oferta no verdadera

*2020-05-12, version 1.2.7*

Ofrecen una app gratis, pero esto no es cierto

### 1/5 — Free but 3.99$

*2020-05-11*

Upgrade is announced as free for a limited time on the App but when go for it, it is 3.99$ !

Otherwise, the real free version seems working, but the interface need a better design touch.

### 1/5 — Total fail

*2020-05-10*

Found a picture of a black and tan dachshund online. Full shot on a white background: no other images to disrupt the app. It came back with and 83% back and tan coonhound and only a 15% dachshund.

A coonhound stands between 10 and 15 inches taller than even three biggest dachshund!

At least it was free.

Please please please DO NOT pay for this app. It seems to employ the most rudimentary image recognition and is pretty awful at best.

Just for shiggles, I then flipped the same image to be mirrored and then it was apparently only 71% coonhound. Huh? The exact same picture just flipped on the x axis now produces a different result?

Awful. Absolutely awful.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2020-05-10, version 1.2.7*

Unless you truly enjoy wasting your time and your money, this app is best left undownloaded. Giving this app the benefit of a doubt is your prerogative. Just don’t rely on the “DNA” to manage your expectations.

### 1/5 — Poorly trained CV model, even worse app design

*2020-05-10, version 1.2.7*

Backend wise, very rudimentary, correctly implementing cnn would yield far greater accuracy with minimal effort.

UI/UX seems like it followed a quick start guide on phonegap.

### 1/5 — Kind of Pointless

*2020-05-10*

It should bill itself as entertainment not an actual ID app, especially with a name like DNA. Cute but kind of pointless.
I got it free and if you’re inclined to try suggest doing so only keen free. I don’t think it’s worth much money. But reasonable minds may differ 🐕

### 1/5 — Ridiculously off

*2020-05-09*

My dog is a German Shepherd. No doubt. I tried different pictures of him and got Belgian Malinois in one and Norwegian Elkhound in another. Okay, my dog is not the traditional coloring. He’s sable instead of Black and Tan, but come on!!!! Would have been cool if it worked.

### 1/5 — Trying to UNLOCK everything on DogDNA app that is supposed to be free today..

*2020-05-09, version 1.2.6*

Trying to UNLOCK everything on DogDNA app that is supposed to be free today...it isn’t showing its free. Please tell me what to do. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Unlock not free

*2020-05-09*

App says, download and unlock features, today only. Downloaded the app TODAY, and it’s asking me to pay $2.99 (50% off, woohoo - insert big sarcasm) to get All Breed Features.

BEWARE: FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!

### 1/5 — Not accurate

*2020-05-09, version 1.2.6*

I have some type of Australian shepherd that’s about 2 to 3 ft tall and this app says he is 96.17% chihuahua! I tried several different pictures from different angles and distances. Same results.

### 1/5 — Same dog different breeds

*2020-05-09, version 1.2.6*

I try photos of the same dog but different angles and I always get a different breed—tried five times. Skip this app, not worthy

### 1/5 — CarmenTheMaltipoo

*2024-04-25*

### 1/5 — Nonono

*2024-02-03, version 1.3.1*

### 1/5 — Not buying a second time!

*2023-09-14*

I bought this app once, but won’t restore purchase and wants me to buy again. Not impressed and NOT buying it again. It’s not worth it!

### 1/5 — Waste of Time Do Not Buy!!

*2023-07-17*

I have a wheaten terrier, and he is nowhere close to looking like a Pomeranian this app has no accuracy or detail why pay for something that’s probably not even going to be correct and I also do not recommend this for mixed breeds. You will get a bunch of information that will absolutely not make any sense honestly, if I was one of the devs, I will take this now because this is just a piece of garbage and a waste of time and also a waste of money if you want to bite us app.

### 1/5 — Great idea but not reliable

*2022-04-16*

The app keeps telling me my Magyar Vizsla looks like a Pharaoh Hound

### 1/5 — Fake

*2021-07-31, version 1.3.1*

It changes every time and I know my dogs DNA and it is completely wrong

### 1/5 — Everything cost money

*2021-05-16*

I did find out my dogs main pedigree which is a lowchen (I can see this looking it up on google) however I have to pay to see the rest that’s hidden. I wasn’t expecting to have to spend money to find out. Thanks for some what of a percentage of my puppy baby dna.

### 1/5 — So annoying!

*2021-04-26*

They get the breed so inaccurate! My dog is a mixed husky! She looks nothing like a greyhound!? Also you have to pay to find out the other breeds? I’m only gonna use this once why would I pay?! I rather go to the vet but since quarantine I can’t!

### 1/5 — Do not get this game

*2020-10-16*

OK first of all even though my dog is a corgi from a different angle it just says it’s all different kinds of dogs inside my brother is part Dalmatian that doesn’t make any sense so please don’t get this game😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

### 1/5 — Not free

*2020-05-12, version 1.2.7*

This was supposed to be a free app for a limited time, ITS NOT!!! Scam!!! Deleting it now

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-05-01*

I think this app is awesome. It’s not a genetic test . It’s look of dog . Make sure the pic is done right .. I have proof of dogs that where really dna test n I got different results.. I recommend it . 💯💯I love dogs . I have fun with it .. oh I have a 11 pro max . Just letting ppl know .. ppl get different results..

### 5/5 — Coolest app!

*2018-10-22*

This is the greatest app! I have rescue dogs and I’ve always wanted to know what “blend” of breeds each of my dogs were. This app identified them and I can totally see it now! If you adopt dogs and wonder what their heritage is this would be great for you!

### 4/5 — Well it’s ok

*2020-05-09*

I have a registered Purebred Labrador Retriever. It’s picking that as main Breed but also throwing in a couple of other Breeds (Cane Corso?) dependent on picture. Will be trying out some other pics & taking some new pics to see if it will drop other Breeds. I’d recommend trying it out.

### 3/5 — A nice little fairly accurate app

*2020-05-09*

Is this app 100% correct? No. Should you expect this or any to be? No. The better the photo or picture, the more accurate. I purposefully put in pics that weren’t clear. It did better than I thought it would. It got some I didn’t think it would/could & missed a couple I fig’d it might get. Still, most often the correct breed was listed as a possibility. It’s a nice little app w/room to improve & get even better. Would I bet big $ on every answer being spot on? No. If you would, maybe you should go ahead & change your name to what you might be... a “Mark.” If you’re upset, leaving mean, bad reviews, you must either take crappy pics, expect way to much &/or often get disappointed by many things.

### 3/5 — Hilarious.

*2020-05-09, version 1.2.6*

Snapped a picture of my 80 lbs boxer/Great Dane and got him identified as 71% chihuahua 🤣. This app will definitely give you a good laugh.

### 3/5 — Can’t purchase

*2020-01-30*

Screen hangs after trying to purchase

Cool app / needs that fix

### 2/5 — Accuracy is questionable

*2020-05-10*

This app has an interesting concept and presumably it could work if it had a well tuned sophisticated machine learning algorithm behind the scenes. I tried multiple different photos of my dog and the app gave wildly different results even when I used almost identical pictures that were taken within a few seconds of one another with very subtle differences in the position of my dogs head. My dog is a fairly rare breed — a canaan dog — and though he’s AKC registered he doesn’t have a classic canaan dog color pattern. Nevertheless he was never identified as being more than 25% canaan dog though I uploaded 15 different pictures and some profiles didn’t mention canaan dog at all. His mother was identified as 97% canaan dog however which I thought was impressive since it is a rare breed but she was a national champion so it’s possible that her picture may have been used for breed recognition training purposes. In any case, it’s an interesting concept but needs much more work...

### 2/5 — Dog DNA

*2020-05-09*

The app is good but I t was supposed to be a free upgrade to premium on the day of download. It was not, and wanted 2.99 for the upgrade!

### 2/5 — Not Even Close!!!

*2020-05-09*

I tried using this app with a variety of pics I have of my dogs. Sadly, this app failed with every pic I used. I’m not sure what “advanced algorithms” it uses, but clearly it needs a lot of work!

### 2/5 — 2 for laughs

*2020-05-09, version 1.2.6*

It’s so bad. But it’s so funny. I have a German Shepard Rottweiler mix. It keeps telling me she’s a dachshund and Pomeranian mix. Decided to use a picture of my cat for laughs and it told me it’s a Great Dane
