### 2/5 — Too many bugs to justify paying

*2026-06-03*

I got the paid version of this app so my partner and I could share information about when our puppy last used the bathroom, ate, or took supplements more easily, especially on days when our schedules were very different. I’m also a data scientist and biologist, so I liked the idea of getting graphs and heatmaps of my dog’s behaviors and progress.

I first got Doggy Time in Sept/Oct 2025, and it worked relatively well for the first couple months. There were a few minor bugs like her breed not updating in the summary or insights sections. However, in the past two months (starting ~April 2026) the app has become more and more buggy, affecting the core functionality. Most frustrating is that the app now frequently logs you out without any clear notification that you’re logged out (ie, it doesn’t prompt you to log back in upon opening), so it’s not sharing events across users in my “team” - the whole reason I pay for it. Then, since the app doesn’t have you set a password, and instead sends you an email with a passcode, I have to wait for that to come through in order to log back in. All while trying to get my puppy to stay still and get her paws wiped off, or not eat any plants in the backyard. I’ve also had about 75% success in actually receiving the passcode via email (and yes, I’ve checked spam).

There’s also issues with syncing between Apple watch entries and the phone app, which aren’t as important to me, but it does sometimes mean I’m missing important data for some time.

The GPS tracking during walks is problematic as well, and I regularly have to correct the distance we walked with the more accurate tracking from my fitness app.

I feel like I’m doing all the work of entering (and correcting) the data AND paying for the app, while the product I expected keeps declining in quality. I will be canceling my subscription before it renews again.

### 2/5 — Ads NOT family appropriate

*2026-05-25, version 4.2.80*

The app seems simple and solid but within 3 min of download inappropriate apps were available. Not what I was to promote for my kids to use.

### 2/5 — Update

*2026-05-05, version 4.2.73*

Been using this for quite some time and happy with it until now. Seems this latest update won’t allow people in my household to sync data for a single pet. Have tried all suggestions such as logging out and back, making sure we are all on the same account, re-syncing, etc. if this isn’t fixed soon not only will I be very upset as it will end up being a waste of paying for something, but also very sad as I truely liked the app

### 4/5 — Great for early puppy days!!

*2026-02-02, version 4.2.48*

This has been really helpful in tracking my new puppy’s habits (sleep, eat, play, toilet etc). Definitely helped me see patterns so I could avoid accidents and adjust our day accordingly. I’ve only had the app a couple of days but I will be using much more of the features in depth (like training!) as my puppy grows.

### 2/5 — I like it but bugged?? Events dropped

*2026-01-09, version 4.2.42*

I like this app a lot, but im noticing that events Im logging sometimes randomly disappear or get deleted. I log consistently throughout the day and I noticed today that all my events from 2:30-7pm got wiped. I went to previous days and saw similar random lapses. Please fix it or I can’t justify paying for it going forward

### 4/5 — Best for organizing, a little slow

*2025-08-13, version 4.2.21*

I love this app so much but awhile back it started running super slow. Hoping that will get better again on a future update. I really like the way this app organizes information. The only other thing I would change is to let me archive pets instead of marking them deceased. We have a lot of fosters that come through, and I don’t want to mark them deceased when they get adopted 😆

### 4/5 — Great, a little slow

*2025-07-26, version 4.2.16*

I love the functionality on this app. It started running slow lately and I’m not sure if I’ve overloaded it with too many pets 😆 or if there’s something else going on. I also wish it would let me archive pets and check box items, rather than having to delete. I’m sticking with it for now.

### 4/5 — We love it!

*2025-05-14, version 4.1.34*

We love this app! We were previously recording everything on paper.. this is so much more efficient. We also love the observations & insights provided. Our only complaint is that although our boys birthday is logged, it doesn’t recognize his age well. & we’d love for it to understand that crate time = sleep time. Especially with our 3 mo old puppy (naps are essential right now).

### 2/5 — App Not Working Without Paying Subscription

*2025-04-15*

This app was so amazing to use for tracking the care of my rescue dog as we navigated various health issues and I really relied on being able to refer back to our records and see what my notes were about his bathroom habits and different things when going to the vet. However, since they added the subscription piece they’ve taken away a lot of the key function and the app almost doesn’t work at all anymore. My partner and I aren’t able to see what each other add to our logs no matter what we do and it’s making tracking our puppies neuter care much harder.

### 4/5 — Widget Improvement Request

*2025-04-06*

I actually love this app. Both the free and paid versions are amazing. I like how the if I wasn’t able to pay for the app, it was still usable. Some developers make “free” versions sooo limited you might as well pay or delete it. This is not the case with this app. What I would like from the developer is the option to
choose what trackers we’d like for the widget. I know it’s the first three in the app dashboard and you are able to customize that. The reason I’d like to choose the widget options is for reasons like my calendar. I have two widgets for my calendar. One that shows my scheduled and one that shows my kids schedule. This helps to see a difference in what I cannot miss vs what is just on the calendar for my family’s benefit. I have at least 5 things that would be so easy to track if I could just have all 5 options on my homescreen rather than having to open the app. OR if the app could have the option to quickly add the way the widget does, that would be great.

### 4/5 — Needs archive option

*2025-03-13, version 4.1.28*

Love this app so much. My only complaint is there is no archive option for pets. So when I have fosters or friend’s dogs, I either have to delete them completely or mark as deceased. I’d rather be able to archive and restore them as needed.

### 3/5 — Makes you pay 😭

*2025-02-02, version 4.1.25*

I thought this app would help me with remembering to take my 8 week old puppy out... turns out you have to pay to make a reminder........

### 5/5 — Great tracking app

*2025-01-28, version 4.1.25*

Exactly what I was looking for. Especially as a new puppy owner I am able to learn my dogs pottying patterns and add notes to myself about how much he is eating (fussy eater)

### 3/5 — Reminders Broken

*2025-01-21, version 4.1.25*

This is a great app but the reminders feature doesn’t work. When you log an item that was a reminder (like Grooming) the reminder will still show up on the app. It makes it more difficult to have a quick look and identify which tasks still need to be done for the day.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — New update May 23, 2026 - bricks app

*2026-05-24, version 4.2.80*

Developer claims that the update fixes the sync issue however now my pet has disappeared completely. I have a paid account. Clearly they don’t test anything before release.

### 1/5 — New update today bricks sync again

*2026-05-24, version 4.2.80*

Developer said new update would fix the issue except it introduced an entirely new issue.

Now your pets just disappear completely from the app. It doesn’t matter if you’re invited again to manage a pet, sometime during the day the pet will just completely disappear.

### 1/5 — Scummy

*2026-05-19, version 4.2.78*

These jackwagons slipped in a made up limit on the number of ‘timed’ sleeps you can do for ‘free’ that wants to force you to pay for their app to continue using.

### 1/5 — Can’t edit times

*2026-04-27*

It’s a great app to track times, but you can’t backtrack or edit times. The editing option is not saving, which is a problem

**Developer response:** Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We are looking into it ASAP.

### 1/5 — New update makes it less usable

*2026-01-18, version 4.2.45*

When ending crate time it now requires more clicks to do then before making it more cumbersome. It should be one click to start crate and some click to stop crate as this is something you to several times a day for nap times. Please make this quicker and easier much appreciated.

### 1/5 — Does not sync data

*2025-05-11, version 4.1.34*

my data not saving in doggy time? I pay for the premium subscription and the app is very unreliable at saving the medication entries I’ve put in for my dog. It also keeps saying I have 2 medication alerts set up, but when I click on them there is nothing no there

### 1/5 — Not paying for ads… sorry!

*2024-09-27, version 4.1.2*

I love this app as it’s been helpful to organize potty training for my family’s rescue. I gladly paid the annual subscription fee since the value was there. Now ads are appearing in the app, so I canceled my subscription and now I’m looking for alternatives. I’ll be avoiding the developer from now on.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2024-09-21, version 4.1.0*

I depended on this app to keep track of crucial medical info for my dog and now I can no longer sign in or synch.

### 1/5 — Es de pago

*2024-08-24*

Debería ser gratuita, la idea no es mala

### 1/5 — Support Nonexistent

*2024-06-18, version 4.0.109*

Subscribed to the premium version and sent a question to the help line and have received no response.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Worth the money

*2026-07-06*

Tried several similar apps and this one was the most comprehensive for tracking everything you can think of, from medications, to naps, to vaccinations, and more. The nap timer was especially useful for when our pup was young, and the medication tracker when they got sick. Each field is very customizable and really helps you notice patterns in your dog that you can share with your veterinarian.

The fact that both my partner and I could track and see what the other had done (and add notes) is incredibly useful.

Would recommend for pet parents who are very health and training focused.

### 5/5 — Life saver for new pet owners

*2026-06-15*

We used this app for the first six months that we had our new puppy and it made it super convenient to keep track of the important stuff like potty breaks, sleep/crate timers, meal times/amounts, and keeping track of his weight. We’ve gotten to the point now where we no longer need such stringent tracking of this stuff and can be a little more flexible with durations between meals and potty breaks, but I would recommend this app to anyone getting a new pet. I wish we had this for our first dog too!

### 5/5 — Efficient and Useful

*2026-06-07, version 4.2.82*

I have been using this app for several months and find it very helpful for keeping track of the assorted Dog Tasks and behaviours. It helps us stay on top of who fed the pup last and how long it’s been since he last went out and whether he is due for a nap and that’s perhaps why he’s being a toolbag (you know, puppy stuff). Anyway, yeah. I like it a bunch, you know that to do!

### 5/5 — Very well built

*2026-05-30, version 4.2.82*

I’m a software engineer and new puppy mom. This app is not only incredibly useful, it’s also really well designed and well built. Kudos to your engineers, product managers, and designers! This is an app worth paying for.

### 5/5 — Fundamental app for puppy parents

*2026-05-27, version 4.2.82*

Used this app for two years and it was a lifesaver! Absolutely vital for puppy parents working on preemptive potty training. Ability to sync between multiple humans on the same dog is also a fantastic feature, and appreciate how it doesn’t cost extra to add a partner.

### 5/5 — Didn’t know I needed it until I needed it

*2026-05-01, version 4.2.69*

I’m fostering a sick, nursing cat, with her 5 newborn kittens. This app is the perfect place to record daily weight of the kittens, the mama’s vet appointments, and to log her meds

### 5/5 — Essential for puppies

*2026-03-25, version 4.2.66*

This app was amazing for our this past year with a new puppy. The family plan was nice because it got us all on a schedule. Would definitely recommend to all pet owners, not just dogs. It’s a great pet health management tool.

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2026-03-01, version 4.2.60*

This is helping so much with tracking my puppy’s activities. It keeps a live activity on my Home Screen and in the island at the top of the screen with a timer for how long he’s been sleeping/crated. This is making having a puppy while I’m working from home a lot less chaotic, and he’s thriving with the structure.

### 5/5 — Lifesaver

*2026-01-19, version 4.2.45*

This app was exactly what I needed when I brought my 10 week Scottie home in May 2025. All of the options to track helped ease my anxieties and helped me be the best new puppy parent I could be.

### 5/5 — Hands down the absolute BEST!

*2025-07-19, version 4.2.14*

We use it for care tracking of all our pets, even our cat and leopard gecko. It has everything we need in it and the fact that the care team is cross platform without having to buy an additional product is above and beyond. These developers get it, and I’m so so glad I found this app.
