### 5/5 — Best Alternative to Social Media

*2024-02-16, version 1.1.21*

As someone in calculus courses right now it is very helpful to practice material right from my textbook on this app. It’s also a great bite sized way to solve problems from previous chapters to keep yourself fresh for when finals and midterms come.

### 5/5 — Good support and helpful

*2023-12-06*

Good app with good and fast support for any problems.

**Developer response:** Thanks, we appreciate your kind words!

### 5/5 — life changing

*2023-10-24*

takes your textbook and gives you problems from exactly what you are learning in class. makes review so easy

**Developer response:** That's a better summary than any we've come up with! Thanks so much!

### 5/5 — This app is amazing!

*2023-04-09, version 1.11.14*

I am currently a college student who is about to take calculus 2, and I have nothing but praise for this app. When I make a mistake I get direct and specific feedback, I have seen no bugs so far, and it has an incredibly comprehensive coverage of calculus topics. Thank you so much, keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — amazingly useful

*2022-08-18, version 1.0.9*

I hope that it’s formatted for iPad one day, other than that it’s a great app for review, studying and relearning calculus

### 5/5 — Love it

*2022-02-05*

Amazing app that will be really useful in my studies!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t even use app bc doesn’t connec

*2026-08-09*

Very frustrating because you cannot use the app offline and when you try to use it and you are online, it says it can’t connect to Dogl, so you can’t even do a single problem. Maybe this app is abandoned.

### 1/5 — Careful

*2025-06-18, version 1.1.26*

Locks up iPhone

### 2/5 — App is good, free version is useless

*2024-01-29*

Just make it paid from the start if the free version is 5 questions per week. To put that in perspective, a single lesson consists of 5 questions so you won’t be making much progress.

To respond to the developer response: I’m not referring to subscriptions when I say make it paid. Make a paid app. Am I really the only person sick of everyone asking for a monthly fee?

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to review our app. We genuinely appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve.

The app lets you do an initial 100 problems for free, without any time constraint, so that you can evaluate it before deciding whether to pay for unlimited usage. After these initial 100 problems, if you decide to stick with the free version, your free allowance gets a limited top-up every week, but we do recommend that you purchase unlimited access at that point. We offer access for 1 month, 4 months or 1 year (no auto-renewing subscriptions!), to try to cater for everyone. Please do get in touch with us at support@dogl.app if these don't work for you.

We have updated the app's description to make all this clearer. Thanks again for the feedback!

### 3/5 — Convenience is nice, leave me with wanting more

*2025-10-17*

The ability to do a lot of problem on the couch laying in bed is really nice but they don’t actually teach you any topics just provides practice problems. I think they can add teaching segments and a lot more data about performance in certain topics

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! The app is built for practice, not teaching, so for notes and definitions we recommend using a textbook, like OpenStax, or a resource like Paul's Online Math Notes. If you don't want to follow a particular textbook, consider choosing Dogl Special Blend. Better data is on our roadmap!

### 4/5 — Its a GREAT idea but it needs time

*2025-02-10*

Bc calc student here, I’ve been looking for an app that has calc practice. No apps so far have had a feature like matching your textbook and I love it. One problem though it doesn’t have mine. My curriculum follows Extended Calculus published by Taylor Math Consulting and is close to the Dogl special blend but not quite right. The lessons I need right now are still under construction as well. It’s my understanding that the developers are also professors and I fully support them! The app needs time to develop more but even as it is right now it’s a great resource if your lesson is available.

### 4/5 — Will there be calculus 2 version?

*2024-10-24*

Love this app for convenience! Bite sized study sessions that you can do anywhere without your notes is really helpful for busy students! Would love to see a calculus 2 edition and potentially a calculus 3 version?

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for the feedback, it's much appreciated! 🙏 There is currently some Calculus II content in the app, but some of it is still under construction. We currently don't have plans for Calculus III, but that could change eventually!

### 5/5 — Student

*2026-07-08*

Thank you.

### 5/5 — please finish under construction topics!

*2026-06-04*

love the app! willing to pay more for the rest of the under construction topics to be done asap. the format is so much better than brilliant and the quiz style is really helpful. would love to be able to review everything I am learning and not just the limited topics dogl has material for. thank you devs keep up the good work

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best educational app out there

*2025-08-11*

This is a stellar app for learning and reviewing math and calculus. You can tell it was created by educators and designed to teach you calculus in a way that slowly builds skills and introduces new content in a controlled and digestible way. I love that the problems often give you the context that you need and assume you haven’t had any experience, and the hints are phenomenal at pointing you in the right direction without giving the answers away.

### 5/5 — Best app from zero based

*2025-07-01, version 1.1.26*

If you have calculus next year or doing it buy the 4 month!!!! I bought the one year but this turns calculus into a game who ever the dev is thank you so much for creating this life changing

### 5/5 — App is fantastic

*2025-04-16*

Just what I was looking for and needing. Thank you so much for developing this and making it free. Math requires practice and this helps me build and maintain my knowledge.

### 5/5 — Beautiful Free math

*2025-03-25*

lovely app, very clever and a super fun easy way to work on intuition and bolster your understanding calculus

### 5/5 — Great for Calc I-II

*2025-03-08*

I really enjoyed Dogl, I only wish it extended beyond Calc I-II. Tried this while in a 6 week Calc II winter semester—was a nice way to exercise skills. (If only it offered into Multi-Variable and beyond…)

### 5/5 — This app is AMAZING

*2024-10-15*

This app is exactly what I wanted when searching for a way to study calculus on the go. It includes the most popular text books sure by most universities and goes just enough into detail on the problems where you have to think but not too much that you can’t do them in a couple of minutes. Would absolutely recommend

**Developer response:** Thank you very much 🙏! We appreciate your feedback 🌟!

### 5/5 — Fun way to review

*2024-09-28*

Good gamified way to review calculus, I hope this app is around for a long time

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for your kind words! 🙏 We really appreciate it.

### 5/5 — THIS is the droid you are looking for.

*2024-09-26*

I’d like to start by saying I’ve been searching for a study tool for calculus and calculus 2 for a while now. Most apps will throw large clunky explanations your way, overly busy flash cards, or paywall calc 2 with ridiculous prices.

This app is exactly what you would want from a calc study tool. The pro version is moderately priced, it reminds me of dualingo (which is a good thing) and the questions it puts you through involve a short explanation and targeted questions in order to reinforce your long term memory.

At long last, my search is over. Mama, I’m home! Honestly, my compliments to the chef because whoever cooked this up has my absolute support, gratitude and unmitigated respect. My caps off to these people. Best app I’ve seen in years.

**Developer response:** Thank you! 🙏 Such positive feedback means a lot to us! 🌟
