## What is dol?

dol is a notes app you write in markdown. Your notes live on your device, and you decide which server they sync through.


■ Everything you would expect
Live preview as you type. [[Wikilink]] autocompletion and backlinks. Search across titles and bodies. Find and replace inside a note. Nested folders and image attachments.


■ Sync that goes nowhere else
Your iPhone, iPad, and the Windows and Mac apps all see the same notes, and they travel through a CouchDB server you choose. Run your own or use a host — either works. Setup takes about five minutes from the settings screen, and your password is stored only in the iOS keychain.


■ Sync is optional
Leave it off and your notes stay on this device. No internet connection needed.


■ Import and export
Bring in a folder of .md files you already have. Or go the other way: export every note and image as a single zip.

Lists no longer pick up blank lines you never typed — Enter on an empty bullet or checkbox ends the list.
The remove button on an image now sits on its top-right corner.

Sync reconnects when your phone wakes
Leaving dol closed for a while could leave sync stalled until you reopened it. It now reconnects the moment the device wakes.

Typing Korean beside a checkbox
On a line with a checkbox, the checkbox flickered each time a Korean syllable was committed. It stays put now.

Korean
dol now speaks Korean. Pick the language in Settings > Appearance, and it follows you to your other devices.

The editor draws more
Tables render as tables, and external links and images appear instead of raw markdown. The top bar brings the raw text back.

Trim the toolbar
Hide the buttons you never use. The rest are grouped by kind.
