### 3/5 — What happened?

*2026-08-22, version 6.1.6*

I have had Dollarbird for years. I have loved it but recently it has changed. My transactions don’t’ automatically categorize like they used to, I can see my transaction in the next month as everything is blank.
My browser site seems to be better but I can’t see it on my phone.
Get the app back to where it was!!!

### 3/5 — Constant price hike

*2026-04-21, version 6.1.3*

No more free plan, $3/mo, $5/mo, now $8/mo… It’s no longer competitive or affordable, in this economy. Sad to see it claw into what’s left of their users. When your “smart calendar” alone costs more than your livestreaming bot systems and cross platform integrations each month, simple pen and paper will make its comeback. Sad to bow out after all these years, but I hope this doesn’t mean the end of this publisher, as they do make good software.

Edit to add: That’s a lot to charge for an app that doesn’t have a biweekly repeat option.

### 4/5 — READ THIS DEVS!

*2026-04-20, version 6.1.3*

Amazing app, would be 5 stars IF one feature was added. Debt tracking. If you could add debt “accounts” with a simple balance and interest rate, then link payments you make to those accounts to transactions in your main calendar. A dashboard to view all of your debts and payoff timelines. This would be the ultimate budgeting app!

### 4/5 — Love the app but $$$

*2026-04-08, version 6.1.1*

I have used this app for almost a decade, and it truly has been a game changer. But the recent price hike has had me questioning whether to continue. There have literally been MINIMAL feature changes in the last decade, yet it went from a free app to now $8 a month. And with that price hike, I expect a seamless experiences, yet, I still login sometimes and the calendar doesn’t load properly despite repeatedly closing it and reopening it. Again, this app has been great for me but you don’t get to raise the price just for the sake of raising the price. I’m going to seriously consider moving on.

### 3/5 — Changed my rating

*2026-04-05, version 6.1.1*

From 5 to 3 stars. My 5 star rating mentioned how I’ve used this app for 5 years - it’s now been 10 years and there’s yet ANOTHER price increase.

The app is fantastic and has genuinely helped me track and stay on top of my finances how I want to - the rating simply reflects how the price increases have not scaled with the features in my personal opinion.

### 3/5 — 😪

*2026-02-27, version 6.0.8*

Calculations is chaotic.
Numbers are right the in And Out, but always gives the wrong calculations.

I paid for the pro but Its not helping

### 2/5 — Not calculating correctly

*2025-10-31, version 5.3.23*

My wife have been using it for about a month but it is pretty buggy. The balance total will change while you are looking at it without even hitting a button and the projected balance goes down when you confirm a planned purchase which defeats the purpose of planning a purchase. We love the look and feel but we can never trust the numbers we are looking at which is pretty important when it comes to budgeting app. I’d look elsewhere for and app that you can trust the math on.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect!

*2025-10-02, version 5.3.22*

I love this app so much!! It really helps me see where my money is going daily.

Only thing, could y’all add a few widget options? One were I can see the calendar without having to open up the app??

Other than that, it’s perfect!!

### 4/5 — Can’t live without it but only almost what I was looking for

*2025-09-08, version 5.3.21*

*Update* Still have the balance glitch mentioned in my review years ago. Also, I loved the idea of entering transfers between calendars except that, after you’ve made the entry, if you update the transfer in any way it doesn’t make the same update on the associated calendar.
*Update* I’m disappointed they have not been able to fix the glitches. Frequently, when looking out a few months or more, the months show a brief balance before switching to show completely different balances. It’s as tough it’s perpetually trying to catch ch up from some changed entry but, for the life of me, I can never figure out which entry is causing the glitch. It always starts at 3 to 4 months out and carry’s through ever month beyond. It is extremely frustrating when trying to plan by quarter. I’m knocking one star because this has been an on and off issue for years now. ***

I can’t believe how hard it is to find a calendar based budget app that works. I like that I don’t have to link my bank accounts. I pay full price and will continue to do so. The rest of my comments are in hopes the developer will make improvements. It does act “glitchy” and recently actually crashes when entering/moving a lot of transactions. It seems slow to update each transaction and I often find myself waiting for it to catch up, even with fast Wi-Fi. I find the search feature notion to be clunky. Sometimes it works but sometimes it only pulls up confirmed transactions instead of allowing me to see other planned transactions. It’s hard to get used to the fact that upcoming expenses are reflected in balance forecast but today’s expenses are not reflected until they are confirmed. The following are just wishes, but may not be for everyone: I also wish there was a way to track various “sinking fund” balances for cash savings (like the envelope system). And I wish the overall balance could be split to reflect the 3 different bank accounts I use.

### 5/5 — 1 Top of the line budgeting app! Everyone is missing out!

*2025-07-12, version 5.3.21*

I LOVE this budgeting app and have been using it since 2019 and have referred it to other people many times. They don’t know what they are missing! I cannot imagine living without it!!! It deserves to be #1 above all other budgeting apps!! everything about it is simple yet useful-the tracking, the forecasting (my favorite), the income vs expense report! and I get to make my own categories and change as I go! seriously the best app there is! ❤️❤️❤️

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used To Love

*2026-08-06, version 6.1.4*

This app was AMAZING until 2 months in. It started “autoforecasting” transactions, and that can’t be turned off or deleted. Now i have no idea what my actual future balance will be, which makes the app unusable to me.

Amazing for 2 months and now I’m stressed trying to find a replacement for this app. I paid for the year and everything already!

### 1/5 — Too expensive now

*2026-03-24, version 6.1.1*

One price increase too many for features no one needs. Bummer.

### 1/5 — Great App - But to Much $$

*2026-03-23, version 6.1.1*

Overall, this is a well-designed app with a clean and intuitive interface. However, recent price increases have made it difficult to justify the cost, especially when there are several comparable alternatives available at a significantly lower price point. While I’ve enjoyed using it, the rising cost no longer aligns with the value provided, and I’ve decided to move on.

### 1/5 — Used for years

*2026-03-20, version 6.1.1*

I have used this app for years. I have accepted every price rise this one is my last straw it now costs more than Disney plus I can’t justify the price hike.

### 1/5 — Rubbish now

*2026-02-18, version 6.0.1*

Used this app for years but now unable to delete categories 😡

### 1/5 — Just canceled

*2026-01-31, version 5.3.26*

Loved the app and have used it for years ever since it was free. Loved it enough to stay with it when they went to a pay model. But no more! This last price increase is the breaking point. It’s just too much.

### 1/5 — Money gouging

*2026-01-29, version 5.3.25*

Expensive AF for simple expense forecasting

### 1/5 — Long-time customer leaving after price increase

*2026-01-27, version 5.3.24*

I’ve been a customer since the app was completely free. I stayed with them despite them moving to a subscription-based service because that’s how much value I found in using the app. However, this morning I received an email that the subscription price will be nearly doubling in a month. As much as it pains me, I will not be renewing and looking for other budget calendars. Shame that it came to this but I’m on a budget, so paying for a service to help me budget is already ironic. Bye, Dollarbird 💔

### 1/5 — Great app w/ subscription

*2025-09-25, version 5.3.21*

This is exactly what I was looking for to replace another app that is no longer available. I would give it 5 stars but I just can’t stand subscriptions. Give us the option to buy lifetime access to premium!

### 1/5 — No free version

*2025-04-13, version 5.3.19*

After inputting my income it decided to notify me that it does not offer any free plans and I can nolonger use it. I deleted my account in the settings and removed the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excelente app

*2026-07-29, version 6.1.3*

Tengo 3 años utilizándola y me ha ayudado a organizar mejor mis finanzas. Es fácil de utilizar y puedes organizar tus gastos por categoría.

### 5/5 — Dollarbird is the best!

*2026-07-15, version 6.1.3*

For forecasting and accurate balance keeping, Dollarbird is THE One!
I have used it for years…occasionally I will download the one being advertised heavily on TV and try it . I was off by the latest and greatest one’s (RocketMoney) advertising though…. All of their video ads imply that people can’t keep track of what they subscribe to…to me, that is an insult….and their app isn’t the best out there, Dollarbird is the best!

### 5/5 — This app changed my life

*2026-06-13, version 6.1.3*

Just thank you, so much in so little words…. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🥲🥹

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-05-08, version 6.1.3*

I wanted a simple way to track my cashflow on a calendar. It does this really well :)

### 5/5 — The absolute best app for tracking finances.

*2026-03-27, version 6.1.1*

I have a problem of constantly switching apps. This one I’ve had since August of 2017. The only app I have ever paid the subscription for year after year because it is a true masterpiece. It has everything I’ve ever wanted and needed for tracking my entire family’s finances.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2026-03-13, version 6.0.10*

Being able to look ahead at my planned expenses versus my income to see if I can afford to spend money has been wonderful. I no longer worry about my finances. Thank you!!!

### 5/5 — Thank you, Dollarbird

*2026-02-22, version 6.0.4*

I have been using Dollarbird for over 10 years. I’ve just cancelled my subscription, but only because Dollarbird helped me get to a place where I could track money better and feel any sense of financial control. This app has saved me from countless late fees, overdraft fees, bounces, etc. and is one of the only things that got me through my twenties. Dollarbird, you will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything.

### 5/5 — The Best!!!

*2026-02-05, version 5.3.26*

I’ve used this App for many years. It’s the best budgeting app for me. I use only for my personal budgeting. It’s so easy to set up and maintain. I highly recommend it. I recently had a issue due to an IOS update. They immediately began working on it and fixed it in a day. Customer service is awesome!!!!!

### 5/5 — BEST Budgeting app!!!

*2025-11-12, version 5.3.23*

I love the simplicity. I love that I feel like I always have control over my money. I’m a very visual person so this app totally gets me and works for me!!!

### 5/5 — A Budgeting App That Finally Gets Me

*2025-08-19, version 5.3.21*

I’ve tried a bunch of budgeting apps, but Dollarbird is the only one that actually works for me. It’s manual, which means I get to make my own categories and really see where my money’s going not just what some algorithm thinks. The calendar view is super helpful, and the yearly expense reports make it easy to spot patterns and plan ahead. It’s simple, clear, and gives me full control. Honestly, this app deserves way more love.
