### 5/5 — Great App, took off one star...

*2022-08-23, version 1.4.3*

There seems to be no way to choose the accent color on the MacOS app. I can change the accent color on iOS and iPadOS. I'm a premium member. Developer, I'd love to change my rating to 5 stars. Will you please allow me to change the accent color in DoMarks? Thx!

### 5/5 — DoMarks

*2022-05-20, version 1.4.1*

Love it!!!

### 5/5 — My favorite bookmarking app

*2022-05-01, version 1.4*

Its replaced all the other apps I've used. Simple and perfect.

### 5/5 — Best app for organizing important website links

*2022-04-26, version 1.4*

Must.

### 5/5 — Giving 5 stars to support indie makers/devs, but an issue

*2022-01-07, version 1.3.3*

Like another comment said, this does one thing well. While apps like Omnifocus or Things can do most of that this does. It isn’t their focus and are general task management apps.

That isn’t a problem though! It is a strength in this case! But as others have said, the price is quite high. Not every one can easily pay for the lifetime price. The monthly and yearly prices are so expensive compared to the lifetime, this makes it seem like another case of taxes on people with less money.

IE when Venmo, PayPal, cash app offer to get you money instantly for 1.5% fee. No one with solid money in the bank will ever need to use this. Only people with limited funds.

So obviously the analogy is someone who is committed to using the app but doesn’t have the funds, will have to go with the monthly or yearly pricing.

This effectively edges certain demographics out of rips them off. I understand why the pricing is the way it is. Monthly subscriptions, likely especially with this sort of app, don’t stay subscribed for long.

### 4/5 — End Bookmark Chaos

*2021-09-13, version 1.2.1*

I found this app while grumbling over my current bookmarking system, or lack there-of. This is roughly my 12th year owning iPhones (hard to believe!) and the bookmarks have gotten out-of-hand. I recently started a system using Notes, but it still isn’t optimal. DoMarks is a practical, logical solution.

Now the bad news. I would spend $20 for Premium one time, but not yearly. Just like with bookmarks, subscriptions quickly get out of hand. I don’t consider myself cheap but my kids are in college, I retired early due to illness, and I have to assign value to my spending. This is the sort of does-one-job-well app for which a pricey yearly subscription isn’t a good or wise value (for ME; others may feel differently.) Sorry, just being honest.

### 4/5 — Love the app

*2021-08-24, version 1.2.1*

Brilliant organising app for things to do later, would like to see more tags available for free users or a one time purchase rather than subscription

### 5/5 — Absolutly Essential

*2021-08-23, version 1.2.1*

This is simply a must-have for anyone who uses the internet.

Thank you for developing this. I cant even count all the plug-ins, apps, plain .txt. files, notes & hashtag attempts I've made over years to try to create something like this.

This app is absolutly essentially, once you download it you'll ask yourself why something so simple, took so long to perfect. I'd glady pay 10x the price just to support the development and ensure it's longevisty. This app is far too cheap considering $1.99 gives you access to it on iphone, iPad, AND MacOS

My only feedback would to please add a tip jar if you're content with the price. I've already stored countless links in the three days since I've purchased this, and my only fear is that it's price-point will stunt future development.

Anyways, awesome work.

### 5/5 — Clever idea must have

*2021-07-03, version 1.2.1*

Great way to stay organized

### 4/5 — Great App - Needs Sorting

*2021-05-31, version 1.1.1*

Love the app and use all the time. It would be ever so helpful if you could add the simple feature of being able to sort you items by tag and/or action though. While $20 a year is very reasonable, a lifetime purchase option would be great. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Great app…but for the pricing!

*2021-04-30, version 1.1.1*

Does what it says on the tin. Lots to like.

Hope the dev does reconsider the pricing, however. I'm not going to be as over-the-top as another review that claims to be "offended" at the pricing—I respect that devs gotta eat and want/need projects that are sustainable—but I'm waiting on a lifetime option at the least before I think of going premium.

In terms of value, I can't help but think about something like iOS OmniFocus, which—although not a direct competitor to this app—does MUCH more, was $49.99 one time and I've used for 3 years. While DoMarks is a great example of a "Do one thing well" app, it is still only one thing relative to something like OF, and yet, over 3 years...this costs more.

If, say, the pricing was

- $.99/month
- $9.99/year
- $29.99/lifetime

I'd jump right on that lifetime as that's low enough to A) avoid the hassle/fatigue of subscriptions; B) be an impulse purchase and C) show faith in the prospect of future development.

Perhaps I'm not the only one, and lowering the bar of entry to premium would get more people in the door?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Featureless

*2023-02-23, version 1.4.6*

Author wants 40 bucks for an unfinished app with no export options, might as well keep your bookmarks in one of the few browsers on iOS that offer html export, this app is a sham, it will never be updated with any export options don’t bother

### 1/5 — Purchased “PREMIUM” but can never use it!

*2022-03-21, version 1.3.4*

I’m currently travelling with my iPad. Suddenly, I get prompted to re-purchase PREMIUM to do anything! I’ve purchased this through Setapp subscription. I re-log into SetApp to re-enable my subscription…..alas! I NEED TO HAVE MY MAC with me. The reason I bring my iPad is convenience for travel. Now I’m screwed.

### 1/5 — Useful App, But Overpriced

*2021-04-06, version 1.1*

This could be a very useful app if it were priced more reasonably. It’s such a shame. I’d pay $9.99 for this, right now, but I’d never pay $29.99 a year, for life, to make a list of links. Also, the developer is not very open to feedback. Again, such a shame, because I love the app while being simultaneously offended by the pricing!!! Sure hope the dev reads this and changes the pricing.

### 2/5 — Great idea, very buggy

*2022-11-14, version 1.4.6*

I love the way this app works…when it works. Initially it worked seamlessly, but now I’ve been using it (premium version) for over a year, it keeps failing. That its, I’ll send something to DoMarks and it will immediately close. Or I’ll open the app, and same thing. And i only have 320-odd items saved. Would love a fix.

### 3/5 — Not for me...

*2023-09-03, version 1.5*

Granted the function of this app is incredibly helpful (despite it's simplistic nature), it is also noteworthy that for a minimalistic app, it's properly lightweight, super responsive, and is very well designed with a fantastically slick UI. Though, with all that being said, I personally find the asking price to remove the rather strict limitations, to be almost laughable. Let's be honest, at best, this is just a prettier version of something that can be done almost equally as well using something as basic as the native notes app. I don't find it strange that there is a price, but considering what it is, if I were the dev, I might expect users to pay maybe a 1-time payment of 3, 4 maybe 5 dollars to unlock. It seems absurd to expect users to pay a monthly subscription for an app like this, which requires very little (if any) server communication, virtually no significant amount of data traffic, debatably easy maintenance updates and a slew of competitor apps up for grabs , as there is (clearly) very little originality or ingenuity involved in this apps functionality. I looked at other payment options expecting some kind of lifetime payment for one-time fee, and practically chuckled when I saw dev asking for 40 bucks or something 🙄 no thanks. I'll pass. Well made app, objectively should not be subscription based though. And subjectively isn't worth 40 dollars, or even half that (in my opinion).

### 3/5 — Not broken, just crippled

*2023-04-10, version 1.5*

If the app seems broken to you, it's because it is severely limited unless you sign up for a subscription. So restricted, in my opinon, that it's difficult to evaluate. However, I did discover one thing to be aware of, the app unexpectedly stomps on your clipboard due to the way the sharing action is impementd.

### 3/5 — Import from Safari?

*2021-07-10, version 1.2.1*

If you use apps like Pocket or WeCollect, you can export links right into the app. This really needs to do that for it to be functional for me…

### 4/5 — Almost Excellent App, super useful for reaserch ..

*2023-06-02, version 1.5*

I love the app, but one essential feature is missing for me on the Safari extension: please include tags list instead of notes. I highly rely on tags to organise reading links and once I've saved them from Safari I won't be able to remember, or have the time to go in the app just to categorise my tags. thanks

### 4/5 — Great but could use search function

*2023-05-10, version 1.5*

I like the simplicity of this app, but, that said, it would be better with the ability to search for key words in the titles

### 4/5 — Seems like a good start

*2021-10-19, version 1.2.1*

Seems pretty decent. Any chance there may be a desktop browser extension?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great tool to brain dump links

*2026-03-04, version 3.0.1*

Great place to just dump links. I love that it doesn’t allow you to set reminders. It just a place for me store stuff and get back to at a later time suitable for me.

### 5/5 — Does one thing and does it well!

*2024-11-03, version 2.3*

This is the first bookmarking app I’ve loved using. All the others end up making me feel like I’m drowning in an abyss of information overload.

### 5/5 — Does what it says - seems like best option to sync urls on Mac browsers and iOS

*2024-02-07, version 2.1*

As title states, this is the best solution for a timeless problem. Developer is expanding features regularly and, for current needs of mine, the free version is very good. Happily will upgrade to a paid level, if/when my needs demand that.

### 5/5 — Best Bookmark App

*2024-02-06, version 2.1*

Want to read it later? Save it to DoMarks. Watch it later? Save it to DoMarks! But it later? Save it to DoMarks!!

Tremendous app! Well done!

### 5/5 — Essential for storing bookmarks for YouTube

*2023-10-07, version 2.0.2*

Keep my head clear and my YouTube bookmarks organized … Amazing !

### 5/5 — DoMarks! keep on doing good work, brother

*2023-08-15, version 1.5*

Really great. So easy. Easier than Safari bookmarks on my iPad. I don’t use it on my iPhone, hmm, dunno why not. I have a Mac and a PC, gotta do Windows 11 for certain things. If DoMarks was cross platform it would be my lifelong partner. (Like if One-Tab ever came to iOS. Swoon. Can y’all please just have a computer baby and make this one dream come true?) please don’t make us sign up. I love not having to divorce you when I will eventually get locked out of my iCloud or change my number.

DoMarks does me Good

### 5/5 — Great for me!

*2023-07-27, version 1.5*

If this app had the option to set a reminder notification it would be absolutely the best!!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-04-25, version 1.5*

Such a useful app. I use it everyday day to help manage bookmarks that I need to action. Has definitely helped with my organization and productivity.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2023-01-02, version 1.4.6*

This app works really well for me. For those who need this app, it makes life a lot easier!

### 5/5 — Really convenient

*2022-10-30, version 1.4.5*

very convenient app, you can add links from different software.
adding some links from your browser, from twitter, from tiktok etc
you can then sort by label, date etc.
and you have a onetime purchase if you don't want to subscribe
thank you
