But after dipping my feet in the water with Doo 3 I’m just not feeling it at all. The menus feel clunky and it’s not as intuitive for me. I don’t think it’s a bad app- but I feel like with this new step it’s no longer a no brained app for me. Something doesn’t jive and it just doesn’t make me WANT to use it. I always wanted to use the old UI. Anyways- YMMV. ### 3/5 — Not as good as the old version. *2020-12-13, version 3.1.2* This is still a good app but using the old Doo app was extremely intuitive to use and I constantly get lost trying to edit my lists I make. I used the old Doo over the apple to do list stuff but I’ll be going back after this one. ### 3/5 — Good features compared to Doo 2, but doesn’t sync with Mac *2020-10-13, version 3.0.5* Still useful, but kinda miffed I can’t get this to sync with MacOS app. I’ve verified iCloud drive is active on both sides... it seems like others are having this problem too ### 4/5 — Sync Fixed *2020-09-30, version 3.0.5* Right now, it is a swing and a miss, Sync is broken! I went through the troubleshooting points and sync is busted! Hopefully the developer can fix this bug quickly because it looks like it could be very useful. In addition, the app would benefit from a badge count! Update: Sync somehow magically works so I really like this app, needs a few tweaks including badge count and maybe a more intuitive interface but I will use it and watch it grow, 4 stars!! I have the original Doo iOS app, which I will be removing, now that I have been able to import my pending tasks from the old app to the new app via iCloud, thanks to the very helpful and kind support from the developer! I downloaded this new one and so far so good. I love the new look, it’s very clean and I appreciate that it was super simple to import my tasks from the previous Doo version. Happy to support the developer and purchase the app again, grateful that it’s not subscription based. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2021-10-12, version 3.1.4* Barely any functionality, not intuitive, clunky and sparse. Basically pointless. ### 1/5 — How is this an upgrade? *2021-06-15, version 3.1.3* I’ve spent the last hour trying to remember the things I’ve completed today. I use these task lists because I have to juggle to many things at once. How do I see what I’ve completed? It’s a fairly common feature in all the task lists I’ve used before. I hoped this one, being a one-time purchase, would give me the basics and keep my data private but where are all the basics? ### 1/5 — Not as good as before *2020-10-03, version 3.0.5* Not quite sure what the team at Doo we’re thinking, but I would save your money. Really basic app, all the charm of the last version has been stripped away. It’s a basic black and white calendar-light now. So disappointed. ### 1/5 — Unfair Downgrade. *2020-09-02, version 3.0.2* Update: I purchased Doo 2 just to find out not too long after that I won’t get any more updates. So now the developer comes up with Doo 3 and tell us to pay (again) for his new app. Your decision didn’t show appreciation for your supporters. There is no way I will continue supporting this app because I know that after you have gotten tired of developing Doo 3 then you will stop supporting it and create a Doo 4 making everyone to pay again and again. It’s a No from me. Previous Review: Why do previous users have to pay again for Doo 3 after we paid for the previous version already. I am not supporting your work anymore. ### 1/5 — Fix your dual apps *2020-08-30, version 3.0.1* I literally bought Doo 2 a week ago and then this comes out and I get no credit to purchase and had to purchase all over again. Super annoyed. Needs a fix bad. ### 2/5 — Regression from previous version *2020-09-14, version 3.0.4* Hey! I love Doo 2! It is the only productivity reminder tool that works for me after having tried everything from the Moleskin Studio product suite through to Things 3. Doo 3 feels like a completely different product and requires additional steps and introduces multiple layered workflows that adds mental overhead that I didn’t previously experience in Doo 2. The simplicity of Doo 2 is what made it unique compared to other products. Doo 3 is much too similar to Actions by Moleskin Studio (and others in the same task to do management category), which in my opinion, does a better job at achieving what Doo 3 does, but a worse job when compared to Doo 2. This product feels like a compromise between two ways of managing tasks and consequently has become a poorer solution when compared to either category. This is harsh feedback. Don’t get me wrong, I love your work and am very appreciative that’s your pouring effort and creating genuinely unique solutions in what is an over crowded market. Please don’t discontinue Doo 2. I’d be happy to take over development and evolve it further and share future profits if it’s no longer an area of focus? Every time I try adding notes to the task after filling the title, the app closes and discards everything typed. Bless you Doo <3 ### 5/5 — Love this app, but a couple suggested improvements *2023-03-15, version 3.4.8* I used the old Doo app for years before upgrading, and I am so glad I did. I’m someone who has a lot of anxiety around looming tasks, and this app helps significantly. I also was happy to repurchase knowing that for $5 (no subscription required!!) I will hopefully get a few more years of my favorite to do app and support an independent developer. I love that I can now switch contexts and view/complete/snooze tasks on my Apple Watch! Overall, I’m a religious user. However, there are a couple small feature improvements that would make my life much better. First: emoji support!! I love to use the pomodoro method, and on the old app I would just add a 🍅 to keep track of how many I had done/how many I had left to do. Typing the word doesn’t give me that dopamine hit I crave! However, after being prompted that Doo was no longer being supported, I panicked. I was like here we go again. I am being instructed to navigate over to the App Store to download the latest version Doo 3. I immediately thought subscription! To my surprise, I was wrong. I am tired of developers treating apps like cable subscriptions - it's a failing business model, ask any cable company. I am happy to pay a one time fee upfront. I’ve become much more thoughtful when adding tasks to it, because I can’t just hide my overdue tasks in a folder.
