## What is DoomStroll?

DoomStroll is the screen time control app that doesn't lecture you. It just locks the apps you can't stop opening, until you've walked enough steps to earn them back.

500 steps earns 1 Doom Scroll, worth 15 minutes of unlocked screen time. Walk to stack them up. Burn one when you actually want to scroll. When the 15 minutes is up, the apps lock again.

How it works

1. Pick the apps that own your attention.
2. Walk. Your phone is already counting your steps. DoomStroll just gives them a job.
3. Earned screen time stacks up as Doom Scrolls in your Scroll Stash.
4. Burn a scroll when you want to use a blocked app. You get 15 minutes.
5. When the window closes, the apps lock again. Walk more, scroll more.

Why this works when "screen time limits" don't

Apple's built-in limits run on willpower. Tap "Ignore Limit," they're gone. DoomStroll doesn't ask you to resist. It asks you to walk. The cost of doomscrolling is just one step in front of the other, repeated until you've earned it.

Most days you'll walk more than you used to. Some days you won't. Either way, you'll know exactly what your scrolling is costing you.

What's inside

- Block any apps using Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls
- Steps tracked via Apple Health (read-only, we don't write anything)
- Earn skulls (achievements) for hitting goals and streaks and other stats
- No account required: onboarding answers, step history, and blocking settings stay on your device
- Anonymous usage analytics help us improve the app; no personal data, no tracking, no selling

Important

DoomStroll is not a medical device. It's a screen time control app that ties your habits to your steps. If you have a health condition that affects walking or movement, talk to a doctor before changing your activity level.

DoomStroll Pro subscription required after onboarding. 7-day free trial on Monthly and Yearly plans. The DoomStroll Pro subscription auto-renews until cancelled in Settings.

### 5/5 — Great Motivator

*2026-05-28*

I didn’t expect this app to work so well, but linking social media access to my daily step count has been really motivating. If I don’t hit my goal, my apps stay blocked — and that gets me moving fast.

Instead of endlessly scrolling, I’m walking more throughout the day to unlock my apps. The app is simple, accurate, and a great way to reduce screen time while staying active. Highly recommend if you need extra motivation to move more!
