There’s sooooo many fake profiles it’s not even funny. Suddenly the app stopped working can’t even log into it. Seems glitchy from time to time. ### 2/5 — Notifications but No Reset Password *2021-10-28, version 2.0.80* Yeah.. I’ve been trying to fix this for months but never have been able to get a password resent to my email so.. I will go elsewhere. **Developer response:** Hi, please contact us via contact@doonglecorp.com - we will solve our issue asap. (please make sure you've registered your Doongle profile with email address not Google account. Many users forget they used Google login when signed up) ### 2/5 — Meh *2021-03-17, version 2.0.74* This app is alright but it can be comparable to that of Instagram. Most people either post selfies or pics of food and that’s pretty much it. Instead of being a community where you can learn and exchange culture people are more preoccupied with finding love (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but it really defeats the whole purpose of this app.... There are lots of fake profiles on here looking to scam women (or men too, maybe?) and that can be pretty annoying and time-consuming. Most of the fake profiles are of Asian men with somewhat Asian names like Ken Wong or something; it kinda gives it away once you get used to seeing it. I am quite saddened that all these fake profiles kinda reveal the fact that Asian men (especially Koreans) get the most attention, given that the community is majority females. But oh well, I guess. ### 3/5 — Glitches *2020-12-01, version 2.0.69* It’s a great app and is really fun but it glitches and some things don’t work ### 2/5 — Predators *2020-10-13, version 2.0.69* There’s a lot of young girls and boys in this app and too much predators outweighed the positives no matter how much I tried to report this app there’s no regulations. I used this app for 3 to 4 months before deciding that it was not for me. This is a good concept but dangerous for young people. ### 2/5 — Bruhhh *2020-07-28, version 2.0.69* It won’t let me set up my profile for some reason. I’ve downloaded this app twice and it still isn’t letting me do anything. First it won’t let you upload high-def pictures (i.e. portrait mode photos) and second if it doesn’t crop right, it kicks you out of the app!! I don’t know why it keeps doing this but it’s super frustrating. I tried resetting my password but it won’t send me an email where I can do so. Please fix it !! ### 2/5 — I Really Want To Love This App *2020-01-19, version 2.0.50* Such a cool idea, and I was so excited to meet new people from around the world. However I can’t upload pictures! After several tries it let me upload one but now no matter how many times I try, nothing. I’ve tried to email Doongle and they responded to my first message within hours. Told me to give more information on problem which I did and now they haven’t responded for weeks. Really sad but I’ll probably just delete this app since I can’t find a solution or let alone get the customer service to respond to my issue. ### 4/5 — ??? *2019-12-21, version 2.0.49* I’ve been on this app for a little over 2 years now and I can say that this app is pretty decent. I was pretty excited to use it and actually talk to people from different countries. If you’re tech-savvy, the app isn’t that hard to maneuver on and you’ll catch on quickly to how it works. One thing I used often was the live global chat. That really helps people engage in conversation no matter where they are. The developers really care about what their users think and always ask us to fill out surveys on what we think should be added or what improvements could be made. Which I appreciate. Something that I’ve always liked about being on Doongle, is when a perv is harassing any woman through DM’s, we usually share it to the feed so that other women are aware so that they can avoid them and report the individual so they can be removed. That’s an example of how “family-like” it is on there. ### 4/5 — Doongle *2019-12-14, version 2.0.48* In this application You can learn new things, new culture, and new language. Also, you can share your daily pictures and videos. I made some really nice friends and am still friends with most of them. Then this app glitched a lot so I stopped using it for a while. After maybe two months I used it again. The same thing happened. Now I’m trying to make a new account because I don’t remember the email and password I used but it’s saying my account is blocked before I do anything. 🙄it’s really annoying ### 2/5 — It USED to be a great app.. *2019-06-20, version 2.0.30* doongle keeps getting hacked and people’s profiles are getting changed and stories are being posted. There isn’t even a way to change your password. It used to be a great app, now it’s full of disappointment and hackers. The developers and staff aren’t even posting on what they’re doing to fix the issues; they haven’t even publicly apologized over the last hacking issue. 👎🏻 ### 1/5 — Worked okay for an hour ... *2019-06-05, version 2.0.30* Didn’t even get to enjoy the app completely, it force closed and logged me out . I'm unable to get a refund and the app seems abandoned by the devs, because they don't reply. ### 1/5 — Says my email is already in use, go to reset password, says user is not found under that email *2022-08-21, version 2.0.80* Very upsetting. I had many friends from all over the world (just the type of app I’d been looking for ages) and I cannot log in. It says when I go to reset my password that no user under that email is found, and then when I go to register with that same email it says my email is already in use!!! Please fix this issue!! I don’t want to remake an account just for this to happen all over again! ### 1/5 — Spam Harassment *2022-06-03, version 2.0.80* This App used to be a really good app I used to enjoy this app but now lately they have turn into a spam pornography, every time I go on this app I get spam profiles of half naked girls sending me messages and viewing my profile and theirs no way you can block them and report them , when you report them you get a message back saying failed so your stuck getting harassed by them spam profiles , I’m in the place right now if doongle don’t do something about this I will have to delete my account with them and find another app to join for my pen pals. Its now almost exclusively dominated by influencers and the user interface is unnecessarily complicated. Most recent update is just simply awful, and despite all these constant updates, the app still is full of bugs and glitches that make it even more difficult to use. This app was SO much better back when it use to be “epenpal”. And Ive met some amazing friends on it years ago. Now its gimmicky garbage, sad to see how this turned out. **Developer response:** Hope you like it better now since the photo quality problem was resolved ### 1/5 — Unbelievable - DO NOT GET THIS APP *2020-05-16, version 2.0.59* This is the only app review I’ve ever written. I’m writing this before I delete my account tomorrow. Doongle has the potential to be an extremely fun place to meet new people all over the world. However after two months on the app, there are too many issues to make a good place to talk. Doongle is a place full of just straight up rude people. I cannot tell you the amount of perverts I had to go after, because they hit on my friends. There’s also a lot of toxicity on the app. People can just abuse the hell out of the reporting system to get innocent people banned. That’s how my account got suspended for two days (still haven’t gotten it back yet - they requested a profile review which may suspend my account for another day). There are also scumbags that make fake accounts to intentionally harass innocent people and support does nothing about it, even after all the reports. They let people like them run amok and then ban my account for no reason. Another issue I’d like to address are the amount of bugs I faced on the platform. Doongle never seems to function properly and the developers make little to no effort to fix anything. With all of these issues in mind, I decided to delete my account and leave this terrible app earlier this week. My friends are doing the same. It’s just people liking your pictures...they even praise you for how many followers and likes you get. Nobody even talks on here it’s not healthy to have this app I think. People use it just to get likes. And there’s a lot of problems. It shows my location even after clicking to not share that. That’s so dangerous. I live in a small town so?? It just mixes every country in one newsfeed. 100% not for language learning as they marketed. You can’t even translate anything.
