### 3/5 — From a platinum user: pay us more

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Some days I feel like I am dashing for just enough pay to keep gas in my car while I dash, which was a huge turnoff. They just sent me a ‘challenge’ to complete 85 deliveries for $85. Im already using MY fuel and adding wear and tear to MY vehicle.

### 4/5 — Really like this compared to others

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Only if they have the same education benefits as the other ones do

### 3/5 — Base Pay Too Low

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

I feel as though DoorDash is taking advantage of the drivers. The base pay is extremely low at two dollars, even if you’re driving 8, 10, 14 miles. The client pays high service charge fees plus taxes plus delivery fees, leaving little room for a tip from people who aren’t wealthy. DoorDash should never pay less than five dollars for base pay, especially in rural areas with booming towns.

### 1/5 — Constant Contract Violations

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Whenever I deliver something and there is a long line in the restaurant I get a contract violation. I have no control in the matter.

### 4/5 — I hate to complain, but…

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

The last update was not an upgrade! New scheduling is terrible! I have a regular job, and do this when I need some extra cash, adding a “Last 30 Days Orders” to the ratings seems unfair, especially when the scheduled Dashes are two hour increments. I don’t want to lose my platinum status because I don’t have enough deliveries. I went from 95+ to a 90 because of it. The lack of a pause button is also a problem. I feel like the app developers don’t actually have to use the app. It wasn’t broke, so why did they feel like they had to fix it?

### 3/5 — App is good

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Would be nice if the app would work with CarPlay though

### 1/5 — Will be issuing a formal complaint to Fair Work

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

The following is what I will be submitting to Fair Work Australia today:

Dear Fair Work Ombudsman,

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding what I believe to be deceptive payment and reporting practices by DoorDash Australia.

My concern relates to a delivery I accepted from McDonald's Maylands, Western Australia, on the evening of **23 August 2026**, at approximately **9:45 pm**.

When I accepted the order, the DoorDash app advised that it would be ready for collection at approximately **9:49 pm**. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, it quickly became apparent that the store was significantly overwhelmed. Customers who had arrived before me had already been waiting for an extended period and were becoming increasingly frustrated.

After waiting for nearly **30 minutes**, I noticed my customer's order receipt attached to equipment behind the counter. From my observations, once staff commenced preparing an order, the receipt would be attached to the corresponding bag. As my customer's receipt remained unattached, it appeared the order had not yet even been started despite the lengthy wait.

Throughout this period I remained in communication with my customer via the DoorDash chat function, providing regular updates on the delay.

Eventually, the customer advised that they no longer wished to continue waiting and asked me to cancel the order. I explained that if I cancelled the delivery myself, it would simply be reassigned to another driver rather than cancelling the customer's order. Shortly afterwards, I received a notification from DoorDash advising that the order had been cancelled, presumably after the customer contacted DoorDash Support.

DoorDash subsequently paid me **half of the quoted delivery fee**, which amounted to **$5.50** for approximately **30 minutes** spent actively waiting at the restaurant.

While this payment itself is disappointing, it is **not** my primary concern.

My major concern is what occurred afterwards.

Following the cancellation, I reviewed my Dasher statistics and noticed that the DoorDash app appears to have removed the time I spent waiting for the cancelled order from my recorded **active time**.

The app now shows that during a total Dash of **2 hours and 17 minutes**, I was only active for **1 hour and 7 minutes**.

This is simply not accurate.

It was a busy evening with very little downtime between deliveries. Based on my own records and recollection, I spent very little time without an active order. The app's figures suggest I was idle for over an hour, which is inconsistent with what actually occurred.

Given that I spent approximately 30 minutes actively waiting at McDonald's on an accepted order before it was cancelled, it appears that this waiting period has been excluded from my recorded active time.

This is particularly concerning in light of the recent changes requiring DoorDash to ensure that delivery drivers receive at least the applicable minimum earnings for their active working time.

If DoorDash is excluding time spent actively waiting on cancelled orders from a driver's active time, it could significantly reduce the payments drivers are entitled to receive under these new protections.

I have contacted DoorDash Support regarding this issue on multiple occasions but have repeatedly been advised that there is nothing they can do to adjust either my recorded active time or the payment I received.

I am concerned that this practice may be used to artificially reduce drivers' recorded active time, thereby limiting DoorDash's obligation to ensure drivers receive the minimum earnings required under Australia's workplace protections.

If this practice is occurring systematically, I believe it has the potential to misrepresent drivers' actual working time not only to drivers themselves, but also to the Fair Work Ombudsman and to customers.

I respectfully request that the Fair Work Ombudsman investigate this matter.

Specifically, I ask that DoorDash be required to provide the underlying activity records for this delivery, including:

* The time I accepted the order.
* The time I arrived at the restaurant.
* The period I remained waiting at the restaurant.
* Communications relating to the cancellation.
* The time the order was cancelled.
* The calculation used to determine both my active time and my payment.

These records should clearly demonstrate that I remained actively engaged on an accepted delivery for approximately 30 minutes before the order was cancelled.

My primary concern is **not** recovering the additional payment for this individual delivery. Rather, I am concerned that DoorDash may be manipulating or excluding legitimate active working time in a way that undermines the minimum earnings protections recently introduced for delivery drivers.

If this practice is widespread, I believe it warrants investigation to ensure that delivery drivers are being fairly compensated and that DoorDash is accurately reporting active working time in accordance with its obligations.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would appreciate any advice regarding how this matter can be investigated and what further information I can provide to assist.

### 1/5 — Tip option missing.

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

There is no tip option from yesterday.

### 2/5 — Might be my personal experience

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

It’s not reliable. You have to get lucky in order to make money. I still get bad offers and i’m platinum status. I have to take them because i will drop below 70% acceptance rate. I have been in and out of platinum status, and when i achieve it while dashing, the app doesn’t notify me or automatically change it. Same thing with the pizza orders; i was dashing for weeks without knowing i had to scan the pizza bag to get offers.

### 1/5 — Orders

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

What yall should do with all these updates is give us a shop and deliver option only !!!! So ya can stop sending us drivers 2$ orders for 5 miles

### 1/5 — It’s a joke. No suck thing as easy

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

The Csr manipulate every order there is no algorithm. they pay you 2 to 3 dollars for mileage. They couldn’t care less about how many miles that they send you out and they couldn’t care less on how much they pay you. You have all the worries and are reprimanded for things that are out of your control.

### 1/5 — FIX UPDATE!!

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

I havnt been able to dash in 2 days after the app updated. It’s constantly asking for verification and then NO orders come through. All I receive is a text that I didn’t confirm in time and my app pauses. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!!

### 4/5 — 👍🏽

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

👍🏽

### 1/5 — App and support are slow.

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

First of all, every time I make a pickup, it takes the app a minute to figure out which direction I need to go. If there is an issue with a pickup or delivery, it takes a long time to get the app to respond with support.
Lately, the app has lost track of me and will kick me off my dash and not let me back on. The app has a tendency to crash hard, so I have to try to get help, but their support is automated and vague, and it takes a VERY long time to get help from a representative. Even when I am able to get someone on the line, their response is usually the same; close the app, then restart your device, then delete and reinstall the app. The fix is usually the same, but the problem never seems to go away.

### 4/5 — Savings Jar problem

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

Whenever i try to withdraw money from savings jar it freezes up after i enter the amount, then i get kicked out the app and the money is stuck in the savings jar.

### 1/5 — Update stinks

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

The update is horrible, used to see the names of the restaurants and the bottom of the screen, not anymore. If I'm 30 seconds out of hotspot the app goes to navigate screen????? Schedule screen says you can schedule but gives error everytime so you can't. Horrible

### 2/5 — Bad offers and acceptance rate should be banned!

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

Now that I have an actual job, I’m glad I only dash on the side. The acceptance rate doesn’t make any sense. I feel like they purposely give you low paying offers, because they know that you’ll decline and they will bring your “status” back down. That’s not fair. Half of the offers you do receive make no sense when it comes to the tip and miles. Nobody is driving 12 miles for $4!

### 1/5 — Modern slavery

*2026-08-23, version 2.441.0*

Working as a DoorDash driver is no longer financially viable, as rising fuel costs, extensive mileage, and ongoing vehicle depreciation fail to offset the expenses. Furthermore, the system's algorithm lacks transparency, penalizing drivers for declining orders and thereby limiting access to better-paying assignments. The compensation structure fails to provide sufficient late-night surge pricing, resulting in an inadequate return on investment for the independent contractor. New drivers should consider alternative platforms like Grubhub or Uber Eats, as DoorDash has a policy where you receive no compensation if a customer cancels an order before you can mark your arrival. You could drive ten miles to a store, but if the cancellation happens prior to pressing that button, which requires proximity to the location, you won't get paid for the distance travelled.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Routing and zoning

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Worst platform to work for

### 1/5 — 🍆

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

### 1/5 — Do not waste your time

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

From a 5.0, nearly 5k dashes dasher. Do not download this app, they will scam you and scam you repeatedly

### 1/5 — Not happy with system

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

The system needs to stop giving dasher 1 and 2 star reviews. I know it does because I have followed every direction as instructed and yet I still get either a 1 star or 2 star review weekly. You say you investigate every low review but I know that’s not possible because if you did then I wouldn’t be getting low review. First you want to give us barely enough time to make it from pickup to delivery even going double the speed limit. You don’t calculate in long wait times at red lights or bad traffic. Also you need to show us which orders we are getting the bad reviews on because at this point a lot of us believe you are just making it up to keep our ratings close to gold level

### 1/5 — TRASH!! THEY WILL THROW YOU UNDER THE BUS FOR ANYTHING

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

I got a violation for “not delivering food” and when I disputed the violation they rejected!! I called to better explain my issue and they still said “oh well can’t undo it” this is the 2nd time in the last few weeks that they have tried to penalize me for something that was out go my hands. This last time I delivered food to a MIDDLE SCHOOL, which means unless im a parent I CANT go passed security, and that person claimed I didn’t deliver their food “as instructed”. The other two time were when I had gone to pick up the food and the people said another dasher had already picked it up and when I called to be removed from that order they said my acceptance rate was going to go down. CRAZY!! None of that makes sense!! Treating people that work for you like trash is insane.

### 1/5 — Bunch of bad orders

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

### 1/5 — Low pay rate

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

They are paying so much low and additional pay is also low as compared to past the app is getting worst we are not able to earn much from that pay per offer is so much less.

### 1/5 — Auto praise

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

This AM, the app has decided to pause on its own after some random number of minutes. What’s up developers!

### 1/5 — Don’t do it!

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Training is a joke!
Support is even worse!

### 1/5 — App need alot of updates

*2026-08-24, version 2.441.0*

Uber eats very easy to use but this app is not smooth as uber eats. Map is very bad and not accurate. Also it doesn’t tell you which suburb you delivering just they mention city name. Also app crash all the time . Sign up time is worst experience

### 5/5 — Update

*2026-08-22, version 2.441.0*

I just wish they would update the system to only send drivers for orders that the restaurant mark as ready for pick up. To stand in a store waiting 15 minutes for an order when I’m looking at orders that are ready and just sitting there is crazy and a total waste of time

### 5/5 — It’s ok

*2026-08-22, version 2.441.0*

Merchants need to get better at having order ready when I get there.

### 5/5 — Withdraw and Savings don’t work

*2026-08-21, version 2.441.0*

Every time I try and withdraw or move my earnings into my savings, the app freezes and I have to exit out of it. I go back into it, does the same thing. Terrible bug-needs to be fixed ASAP.

### 5/5 — Best Employer

*2026-08-13, version 2.439.0*

Door Dash.. the best ever!!!

### 5/5 — Issue with your app

*2026-08-11, version 2.439.0*

I’ve done over 25,000 deliveries and just over six years for DoorDash. I used to love doing DoorDash now. I can’t stand it. Specially, your stupid on-time rating there’s construction everywhere especially 80 second takes two or three times longer to get anywhere. I’m constantly being marked late because of construction more importantly I find myself speeding half the time now too because of it you need to give us more time or make some serious changes to your app I’m gonna start doing more Uber way less stressful. then DoorDash.
