In ways it’s much richer than the og game. Thematically tho, I’m a little baffled. In some ways it seems like it’s trying to appeal to a younger audience what with the jokey weapons, but then you’re randomly looting a corpse on a subway. It’s WILDLY inconsistent that way. Also, it really messed me up going from N to N+ and the value of the strains flipped but they were still on the bottom and idek, it made my brain itch. Anyway, good build of a familiar game. I’m just not entirely sure who this is for. ### 4/5 — Review *2024-08-16* I’ve been waiting for a remake of this since I left high school in 2005. Used to play it on pc at school. This is fantastic. I’ve really enjoyed this game as a way to switch off over the years. The new features feel like legitimised cheating rendering the competitive side of the game obsolete. I shall be uninstalling. Goodbye Dopewars. ### 1/5 — Was an awesome game *2023-01-22* I guess they recently did an up date that ruined it I’ve had the app a few years and it was awesome, just like the old pc game after you rename everything. Anyway opened it today got a message about the update and everything different, everything went back to the goofy names they choose the user interface is all screwed up now. I did try to give it a chance but by day 4 I couldn’t stand it so it’s now deleted…. When you fix what’s not broken you’ll probably break!!! I’m pretty sure my old review was 5 star, but this app is garbage now thank you. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, and very sorry to hear this. We actually were fixing what WAS broken, in that the old version had issues on newer phones and iOS versions, so had to be updated :( We were unable to retain your previous settings due to the new tech involved (we tried, honestly). That being said, we haven't seen issues with the UI ourselves, or had many reports of that. If you could do us a huge favour and email a couple of screenshots to beermatsoftware@gmail.com, along with your device model and OS version, we'll look into this ASAP. You should get that source-code and turn it into an app!!!!!!! That would be great. This Dopewars is great the full feel of the original. It also has seeds, which let you replay the same scenario over and over till you get it correct !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really can’t say anything negative about this game. And that is UNICORN LEVEL in game terms!!!! All other games have some MAJOR issues. This one doesn’t, if more people played there would be more scores, but that aside you can be at the top of any tier, you just need to find the right seed!!!!
