Legend has it 3 brothers back in the late 1800s discovered a hidden stash of gold out near an uncharted mine in the heart of the New Mexico desert. The brothers died taking the location with them but rumour has been circulating for more than a century on its whereabouts. You decide that a break to the warmer weather would be good for the soul and potential for a great adventure so chart the earliest flight out. On arrival you set to work right away, making your way out to the desolate desert lands to try and pin point the location of the hidden mine. Unfortunately you soon discover ‘others’ in search of the treasure and you are soon apprehended. After a short struggle you find yourself locked up in a small local jail. You don’t know whether the place you find yourself in is manned by locals or long since been abandoned, but what you do know is the gold must be close and you need to use your puzzle solving skills to first escape the jail and then go on the trail of the lost gold. ABOUT DORADO is a first person point and click graphic puzzle adventure, similar to games you may have played in the ’90’s or similar to a virtual escape rooms you may have played. A simple gameplay interface consisting of the world that you explore and an inventory panel where you can collect, combine and use items you find along the way to solve puzzles. Explore areas, collect hidden objects and take in your surroundings. You will need all of your puzzle solving skills to put together a plan to escape the jail and out to the town, solving riddles and down the many paths working towards the lost treasure of Dorado. How you tackle the puzzles is down to you. Each puzzle has a logical solution, so take your time, there is no rush and enjoy the process of understanding what you have to do. While the movement still leaves alot to be desired and the puzzles can be a bit obtuse, the grammar is better and the overall flow of the game is better as well. ### 2/5 — nonsense *2024-09-24* The graphics are nice but that about where the positives of this game ends. The "puzzles" are more confusing than they are clever. Didn't even bother finishing after the ridiculous answer to the color combination. Dont waste $4. ### 2/5 — Incoherent Puzzles *2024-08-28* Some puzzles work but a lot don’t in terms of rational thinking - especially the colour puzzle and the last puzzle that has to do with the order you progress. When you play you will understand. Good graphics but certainly not worth the price when there are games like the Machinarium for only a little bit more and have tons more gameplay and more rational puzzles. ### 3/5 — Good game but some things I need to address *2023-12-28* Hello - Played the game but encountered some issues that needs fixing. One thing, I am deaf and there is one chime song at church that rely on our hearing to decipher it which we need to crack the door code combination next. Would need subtitles to add the sounds in. Another thing is that some puzzles are not clear. For example, there is a color puzzle that we need to match the colors to the items such as cowboy hat. I had a hard time searching for colors around the items - a safe, for example, I assumed its color was black because it is black in shape or form but I looked it up and found out that the blue liquid bottle nearby is its “color”. Same with cowboy hat - I assumed it is yellow or brown because of its surroundings also have the yellow or brown color but its actual “color” is the red color of the house with keypad. Perhaps you can develop clues that are clear and understandable to solve the puzzles. Overall, great game!!! Plus there’s nothing new here, you are mostly looking for keys, and the answers to other puzzles are pretty obvious. There are free games that are more interesting than this. ### 4/5 — Two hours of fun *2022-06-04* The graphics are a bit basic and it's not the hardest of M9's games, but we had a great night puzzling through this escape room-like game. I wish I could make it a longer experience!  Most players I know from email take around 1-2hours to play through without a guide, depending on puzzle experience. For the time it takes to make a game and the continued demand for more, I have to set a limit to what goes into each game.
