A beautiful evening dining out in one of the courtyard cafes in Sarlat, other memories of canoeing on the river and staying in one of the rustic villages come to mind. Now I realise that I’ve barely touched the surface of a spectacular region of France. The detailed descriptions of places and experiences in this excellent guide make me want to go back and start again. There’s so much more to see and do with the planned itineraries that I now know exactly how to make the best of my next visit.
