Can’t access it via app. Just says updating and nothing happens. This has been going on for about 3 weeks, so I’ve given up. Surely someone at the Echo should be monitoring this? 
I now access by going to safari and typing in Dorset Echo and it seems to work

After logging into the app it appears it’s struggling to refresh the page for latest news. It’s asking me to check my internet connection but my connection is fine. Got bored of trying so I’ve now deleted the app.

Starting the app you are greeted by a plain green screen asking you to login with your Dorset Echo username and password...

I don't have one and there is no options for creating a new account.

Terrible app, just use the website instead...
