### 2/5 — 8/26 - Subscription error?

*2026-08-26, version 11.6.6*

8/26 - I can’t renew my subscription, either via the app itself or here at the App Store…
Truth be told I don’t see anything missing from the app (I only expired a week ago), but it makes me wonder whether the app has been abandoned…

Still my favorite meds app (as below) as long as it keeps working right…

Will update (or delete this part) if/when fixed, but can’t recommend for now…

2017(?) review:
Does everything I need it to do

I was looking for a drug reminder app that allowed me to set an interval between doses (8 hours from last dose, or every 3 days), as well as time-based doses (everyday at 8am), and as-needed doses (Advil, Pepto, etc). I don’t know if there are any other apps that let you do this now—since I found Dosecast, I’ve never looked for another—but at the time, it was the only app that did, and through several devices, it’s never let me down... I do wish the subscription price was a little lower, but it definitely is worth the cost...

### 4/5 — Just one fix needed

*2026-03-25, version 11.6.6*

UPDATE 03/24/2026:
My review below remains the same, but I wanted to add something.

Customer service overall for the app is basically non-existent.

I’ve contacted customer service three times about the same (critical) issue with no response. And this isn’t the first time. So—use the app! It’ll probably do what you need. But don’t expect any support if it doesn’t.

******

I use this app to track a medication I take every 4 hours. However, it’s every 4 hours from when I wake up, which is different every day. So it’s excellent at reminding me about my next dose, 4 hours after each one taken. Even if I’m late on a dose, it’ll still remind me at the correct interval.

But the key to ALL of this is remembering to log that first dose…which, let’s face it, is a little hard to remember when you first wake up. 🥱

I would love to see a “don’t forget to log your first dose” push notification, or the ability to set a timed one (like when you “normally” get up). I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten to log the first dose.

Other than that, I love it. But developers, please PLEASE consider this for the next update.

### 4/5 — Very Good but Could Use a Tweak

*2026-03-17, version 11.6.6*

This is a very good App. It's easy to use and simple to sync between iPhone and iPad so there's little excuse for me to miss a dose.

The additional reminders when a prescription is getting low is also very helpful.

The one addition that would really help their diabetic customers is the ability to record variable sized doses. The amount of insulin needed is in direct proportion to your blood sugar level so the single dose size available in this App doesn't help you keep track of you actual usage.

### 2/5 — Not bad, but let the Buyer beware.

*2026-03-10, version 11.6.6*

I have been using a couple of other pill reminder apps for me and a neighbor that I keep up with her medicines. Both of the other apps have been frustrating and this one appeared to be a saving grace. I did the seven day free trial on the premium version and loved it until it hit daylight saving time and everything went a skew. Multiple request to support and help team yielded no response. Then when I looked and saw that their last update was two years ago and that other than a three-year review, most of the reviews are seven years or older. That’s when it hit me that they probably are no longer supporting this, but they aren’t receiving the money for it. It’s really not that bad. It’s just a bit clumsy. I am going to use it until I can find another one better that has a more current support group.. But I am only buying the premium version one month at a time. Hopefully I’ll find another version in the next two or three months.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2026-01-22, version 11.6.6*

Very helpful

### 5/5 — My med

*2025-12-23, version 11.6.6*

I like this program it is Serra well design for my needs
I wold highly recommend

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2025-12-15, version 11.6.6*

Easy to set up and add new medications, much better than other apps I have used.

### 4/5 — Freezes.

*2025-11-16, version 11.6.6*

I've used this app for years and it’s the best around. The only snag I have is that I wish I could select multiple drugs at a time to take at a certain time. I sometimes take my morning pills early and it’s a bit tedious having to do it one at a time.

### 4/5 — Better than setting an alarm

*2025-11-04, version 11.6.6*

The thing that’s better about this app than an alarm is, if you set an alarm and forget it then you’ve forgotten your pills. But this app has a little red dot on your home screen that nobody can ignore!

### 5/5 — Good reminder

*2025-09-30, version 11.6.6*

It works

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2025-09-27, version 11.6.6*

This is a pretty useful app when it comes to pill management and eye drop management. It’s also easy to use. I am using the free version

### 5/5 — Great for Families

*2025-09-17, version 11.6.6*

Great way to keep track of medicine across two households. Easy to use and very helpful!

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-09-12, version 11.6.6*

This is such a good app! A person can have multiple medications to take. There are so many features from pharmacy info, amount of doses in a prescription
It is very easy to set the app up to make it work for your own personal needs

### 5/5 — Me

*2025-09-02, version 11.6.6*

Great app for tracking medication

### 5/5 — Best App Tracker

*2025-09-02, version 11.6.6*

I tried at least 8 others tracker apps before using this one. My mother had two surgeries and was on 5 different medications that had different hourly intervals. The vast majority of the other apps don’t allow for hourly intervals between meds based on your first dose. I was able to postpone and skip when needed based on how she felt. It was also easy to see the history (paid version only or free trial). This did an excellent job of keeping her an a schedule. Highly recommend this app.

### 4/5 — So Helpful

*2025-08-07, version 11.6.6*

Recovering from a major surgery and needed help managing my medication. Thankful this app auto updates the time if I take my med a little late. I needed something that did it all! My only complained it that it’s not very loud when the alerts come through. Doesn’t see to matter what my phone volume is set to… different tones would be nice, too!

### 5/5 — Easy reminders

*2025-07-28, version 11.6.6*

I like this app for its simplicity. It does what it’s meant to with no fuss.

### 4/5 — Good App, Cloud Sync Going Away?

*2025-07-14, version 11.6.6*

We’ve used Dosecast successfully for many years. However it will no longer let us renew the Cloud Sync feature. It states “Apple In App Server Unavailable”. Too bad, they finally got it working reliably and now we can’t renew it.

Otherwise It has the best scheduling options, including both “time scheduled” and “interval” based, (i.e. every 5 hours). It allows you to turn or off things like early dose warnings. It allows you to attach photo of your med. it works great with my Apple Watch. I wish Dosecast would let you hide the reminder pop up window rather than forcing you to “take”, “skip”, or “postpone”. Then we could see which other meds are upcoming.

I’ve looked at many other similar apps and none can match Dosecast. I would rate it 5 stars if the Cloud Sync feature were still available.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Data Collection

*2026-03-24, version 11.6.6*

The App Store transparency report says that this app does not collect any information, yet on first launch it immediately asks to access my contacts (which admittedly you can deny) but their privacy policy mentions collecting pretty much everything. Deleted immediately.

### 1/5 — Registration server down?

*2025-07-11, version 11.6.6*

I’m running latest iOS on iPhone 13Pro and cannot register this app. I receive error message that the server is not available and try later. This has been happening for a week now. I cannot use the app at all without registration. Update 7/17/23: I was able to use app for a couple of days (I did subscribe for 1 year) but now the app is useless again giving me a server error. It will not sync or backup. I deleted then re-installed hoping to fix the error. Now it will not progress beyond the registration giving me a server error message. I cannot use the app at all. Very disappointed. Update 7/21/23: Server and sync intermittently available. I cannot rely on sync working. I often enter my wife’s meds for her on my device, but when sync fails her device shows doses pending. Please fix.

9/11/2023

After syncing for 4-5 weeks, sync is now broken again. The developer has not responded to emails I’ve sent. I’m frustrated. This app meets all my needs when it is working. I subscribed for a year — but it will be hard to renew.

7/11/2025
I have generally been happy with Dosecast the last year, however, my pro subscription expires tomorrow, July 12, 2025, and I’ve been trying to renew it for two weeks now. I continue to get the error message that “Apple’s in-app purchase server is not available. Try later.”

I am very unhappy with the failure of customer support to respond to requests for help.

### 1/5 — No support!

*2025-07-07, version 11.6.6*

App has gone downhill. Support does not respond to emails and now the app says the Apple Store is not available to renew the subscription!

### 1/5 — Verbal

*2025-05-09, version 11.6.6*

Does not verbally remind me when to take my pills.

### 1/5 — Features shown not available in free version

*2024-05-02, version 11.6.6*

No truth in advertising. The description of the app shows some wonderful ideas that would be helpful to my senior Mom. Unfortunately the ability to change medication type (not everything is a pill) or add the photo requires a paid subscription. Disappointing. At least be honest

### 1/5 — Registration server down?

### 1/5 — Registration

*2023-09-11, version 11.6.6*

After an injury I tried to register the app on the hospital Wi-Fi that worked just fine for everything else but was consistently told I didn’t have internet access. I JUST USED IT TO DOWNLOAD YOUR APP!

### 1/5 — Dosecast stopped syncing

*2023-06-26, version 11.6.6*

Used Dosecast premium for about 6 months with minimal issues. A little over two weeks ago it stopped syncing between my iPhone and iPad. Reinstalling and reregistering ends with a Server unavailable error message and multiple messages sent to support go unanswered. I’ve written off the remaining 6 months of my subscription and am moving on.

### 1/5 — Lasted update 😠

*2023-03-29, version 11.6.6*

“Free” part of app every time it’s open a “pay for app” add comes up.
I will be looking for a new app.
If I want to subscribe I would. Shoving it in my face every time I open the app and not having a not now or latter choice is beyond annoying. Only having a skip option other then subscription options is low. Other apps that have a free & subscription option allow the use of the free version with the option available to subscribe.

### 1/5 — Nicht mehr zu gebrauchen

*2023-01-22, version 11.0*

Seit dem vorletzten Update ist alles nur noch in Englisch. Ist so für mich nicht mehr zu gebrauchen.

Ich habe die App abgestellt und tracke meine Medikamente jetzt in der Health-App von Apple.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for pill reminders

*2026-08-15, version 11.6.6*

I love that you can set intervals like reminding you to take every 6 hours or so and it will update you on when you can take based on when you last took the pill so you don’t need to be perfect at remembering the exact time or do any math.

### 5/5 — Super helpful med management!

*2026-07-27, version 11.6.6*

This app was invaluable every time I’ve needed to manage multiple meds with different times and conditions. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Really helpful so far

*2026-07-25, version 11.6.6*

Needed something better than a bunch of alarms and various reminders - best feature is being able to postpone a dose and schedule things at set times OR at intervals (like 4 hrs between doses), hard to keep up with so many meds so I’ll take any tools I can get

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-06-06, version 11.6.6*

Help me a kit.

### 5/5 — Good

*2026-05-24, version 11.6.6*

For reminding myself if I have already taken my medication or not.

### 5/5 — Helpful App

*2026-05-21, version 11.6.6*

Decent way to keep track of multiple medications. We use it primarily with canines.

### 5/5 — Best medicine reminder

*2026-03-28, version 11.6.6*

This is what I was looking for. I’m getting up in years and this really helps me keep track with my medicine routine. Thanks Dosecast!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-03-22, version 11.6.6*

Assume for keeping track of different meds at different doses and times after surgery.

### 5/5 — Managing the meds.

*2026-03-03, version 11.6.6*

Overnight after an annual health check, couple of pills got added. Rather than daily, it became - daily pills but after BLD.

This app has been a savior.

### 5/5 — Dosecast

*2026-02-17, version 11.6.6*

I've been using Dosecast for years and completely satisfied.
