I like this game, I play it everyday during my commutes. However, im not sure if it’s just my phone bugging but it started to be extremely laggy after I updated my software to iOS 26. Would be really happy if it got fixed.

Superbly addicting. Went looking for Dig Dug and found this instead. I was happily impressed. However, when I finally got to 500 feet, it blocks you from continuing on. With almost $100K, I was super bummed. Should be rewarded for getting so far, not charged.

I do enjoy playing this game but it also seems to have no further progress. Would be sweet to see upgrades for Doug and or tools that stay or you have to spend in game money on.

As a teenager I loved playing Dig Dug in the arcade.  This game is extremely similar and really fun to play. However the latest update 1.6.11 has introduced a lot more crumbling ground to contend with, and definitely gave the game a new challenge!  Not sure if I like all the ground collapsing around me all the time, because I've lost count of the number of times where I was getting ready to have a great big payday and all of a sudden the ground dropped out from underneath me.  The squish factor has definitely been upped as well!

The latest update fixed my brothers older iPad’s crash on opening app. 99 cents is a very fair price to pay for a game that has legs! I play this 20 or more times every day. I am hoping the developer adds new items to game in the future. Maybe tnt with a way to detonate from a safe distance, or a backpack to hold 2 items. Only 1 thing I wish they’d do: make the reward text ( the ones you get for quickly getting 3 or more of an item) smaller! Frustrating to die from an enemy behind the words! Update! Game still has annoying glitch. Numerous times I fall onto a spider and die!

**Developer response:** It sounds like you had previously bought the game, and the new update asked you to update anyway. Sorry about that! To avoid this problem:

1. Fully quit the game by double-tapping the iPhone home button, then swiping Doug dug off the screen to kill the app.
2. Open Doug dug.
3. You should receive a prompt to log in to your iTunes account. Enter your iTunes credentials to log in.
4. The game should then let your through the obstacle, and you should never see the obstacle again after that.

We're also releasing another update that will make the "Restore Purchases" button check whether you've paid for the game more completely. You do have to enter your iTunes password, or the game can't verify whether you've bought it previously.

Despite this game’s simplicity, I like that it still has depth (pun intended), with the creatures and items interacting to create additional hazards or fortuitous opportunities. It definitely reminds me Spelunky - learning to avoid the myriad “dumb ways to die” included, haha.

[January 2024] Update - still got this installed and still playing it on a regular basis. Still a great game.

[21 March 2017] Update - I'm still playing this game a lot, on both phone and ipad. It is one of the few mobile games that actually manages to *feel* like an arcade game from the eighties, and that is a huge thumbs-up as far as I'm concerned.

[6 Feb 2016]I've been playing this one for months, just can't give it up. Pure 'one more go' arcade action that feels like a game from the golden age. It still gets great updates, such as the most recent one, to continually tweak the enjoyment factor. No IAPs... highly recommended.

I love it. This game deserves way more players. It's great! Been playing for years. it's my go-to game when I need a short distraction. It never gets old for me because it's always both a challenge and some luck. My high score is 153k and 1096 meters. Not sure if that's good. I'm also not sure how to kill the orges except by jack hammer or invincibility. Is there some other way? Dragons and bombs don't seem to do it unless it takes a ton of them

I’ve played this game for more than 5 years across different phones. I love it and will keep playing it… but it needs new content desperately. New skins for Doug would be awesome that you could unlock by doing different things… idk. Still a great game!

No, I am not a bot. I just like this simple game reminding me of growing up in the 80s. Fun, smooth, high replay value but...needs more variety. Would really like to change characters, perhaps adding different little friends or changes in blocks - doing so would make this game five stars, easily!

Update: I’m still playing this game! Why is this game not insanely popular? Best game ever!

I’m a fan of early 80’s arcade classics like Dig Dug and I was looking for a port of that when I stumbled upon this gem in the App Store. Doug dug plays like one of those classics. But with some fun twists. For example, learning to understand the “behaviour” and then control the different strata of rock is what makes this fun. Nothing like tunnelling strategically so you can rain down a ton of rocks on some mummies below you. You will hit a point where you are asked to shell out a buck or two. That’s completely fair and worth every penny. I am digging this new classic. You should try it too. Edit: 2 years later and this is still my favourite game. I’m trying to break 650,000 points. Really, this is a modern classic game.

I really liked this game at first. The part I don’t like is right I’m the middle of winning, at least at the end of the first level and as your dropping down to fight the dragon, the game freezes and it prompts you to enter your Apple ID and purchase, or quit. Such and underhanded and sneaky tactic. Mind you this game is a copy from a game called Dig Dug from the 80s. I can’t delete this game fast enough.

I am giving this game a one star rating as now it is needed to pay for an upgrade get past level 100.

It was a fun game, but too many things cost too much money and I’ve already put enough money into these kind of games.

When I first started playing this it was free, then I changed phones and had to pay $0.99, then I changed back to my original phone (game still free with this one), now the game won’t let me continue to play unless I buy it. Again. This game used to be a fun game but I refuse to re-buy it. Especially since it was originally offered for free. Don’t waste your time or money.

The controls for this game really needs either fixing up or additional options. By the time Doug has finished mining one block, my finger has slid infinitesimally, and just like that he changes direction, mines a block you didn't want him to, and kills himself. You won't notice the change in direction due to the lag it takes in breaking through a block. Please try a different control scheme, or make it more obvious when your direction changes.

Love this game but I’m never really sure if the cave is gonna collapse or not, it seems random, because of that some deaths feel cheap. Maybe if there were check points? Or some explanation of why the caves collapse. 
Besides that it’s amazing

This is one I keep coming back to. Simple fun of digging. Taking risks. And dying a ton in funny and crazy ways. I hate the ghosts and wish I cold start at a higher difficulty but still fun all the same.

it does exactly what all handheld games should do: simple gameplay, no timer, allows one to challenge one’s self a little for a casual minute or consider complex strategies for the deep dive turn when you have 10 minutes - and losing that turn is no big deal. *Phit* needs to be updated to work again too! PLEASE!! it was equally a perfect game!
