### 3/5 — Not many options

*2018-01-02, version 1.2*

I like that there’s skin and hair color variations, but there are very few emoji options. There is no sleepy emoji or mad emoji or anything. I would like to see more options on the keyboard.

### 2/5 — Cute idea... needs work

*2017-01-27, version 1.1*

Love this idea but I can't get the emojis to actually get into my messages. Says to paste it in... seems like a lot of work and when I tried it was. It successful. Hope it gets some updates. Also, Id like to see more options for hair color & skin color combinations. Cute idea tho!

### 2/5 — Can't get past it.l

*2016-08-13, version 1.1*

I really want to use this keyboard, but cannot get past the message I receive when I was preparing to "allow access".
"Developer may have access ...to my credit card info and txt previously typed". No thanks.

### 3/5 — Cute idea but not that ideal

*2016-01-14, version 1.1*

Love the idea and images but they're too big (and it's still hard to discern the faces) and the paste function is not user friendly. I'll probably delete until the keyboard is improved as its a hassle to toggle between it and my keyboard.

### 4/5 — Smaller emojis and gifs

*2015-12-30, version 1.1*

I would give this 5 stars if the emojis and gifs were more miniature sized like other emojis. I love the skin tone and curl type options in the emojis. I like the app a lot! Would "love it" if emojis were smaller

### 3/5 — Hmmmm😬

*2015-12-23, version 1.1*

I would say that this is not the best app. They call it emojis, but it's not an emoji, it's a picture. It doesn't even automatically put it where you write. It copies to your clip board then you have to past it. I will probably delete this but that's just what I think. One good thing about this, is that it has gifs.

### 3/5 — Ok emojis

*2015-12-06, version 1.1*

Hi. I like the idea of these emojis. However, I'm not able to paste the emoji into my message anymore. Maybe update this so that it can skip the step and show up when you select the emoji you want. I love the gif emojis when it works...

### 4/5 — *Please Read*

*2015-12-05, version 1.1*

I felt like it was going to be the size of the Apple emojis but then when I bought it realized it was going to be gigantic... Maybe smaller... And with the emoji with two people (tried to put it here but not possible) maybe you can choose the front persons skin color and the hair style and then the back persons skin color and the hair style. Also maybe add an Asian character since I have about a million Asian friends and one of them has curly hair. ( I'm usually not a race activist but I feel like Asians were misrepresented in here.) Thanks!

### 2/5 — Cool and Cute but

*2015-11-21, version 1.0*

The emojis are way too big and are limited to text message use 👎🏾. Emojis are meant to be used on social media platforms too! I dislike that its copy and paste instead of entering them like normal emojis. Because of this i do not use the keyboard. However, i keep it just in case an update is coming soon. Psst... Update it soon please. These emojis are just so cute ! Too bad i cant even pit some here.

### 4/5 — It good

*2015-11-12, version 1.0*

It's great now that us curly girls have emojis but it would be better if we didn't have to paste and I'd it was more emojis like and not picture like

### 4/5 — This is smart!

*2015-11-11, version 1.0*

Wow DOVE. Great job with this. I'm enjoying the app, it's so fun and cute first people I sent it to was my mom and two sisters! I do wish I didn't have to copy and paste but you know what it's fine!! :) great marketing and exposure. I just took my heat protective style out so I am all kinky curly right now. Let me look into these dove products..:)

### 2/5 — Great intention (and marketing), poor implementation

*2015-11-11, version 1.0*

The cut and paste process is far from seamless and the emoji's don't seem to work on Facebook. Also, don't like that you have to give the app -- that's developed by a third party, not Dove -- full access to your keyboard, including past and present messages. As husband to a woman with amazing curls, I love the idea, but wish it was better implemented.

### 3/5 — I love the idea but..

*2015-11-11, version 1.0*

1 ) the "emojis"are too big
2) it's just pictures not REAL emojis like "😍😘😊😁❤️💙🙋🏽🤗"
3) it's an awesome idea but I wish they didn't require copy and paste especially if they are claimed to be "emojis "
Nice try guys but I'm giving 2/3 stars just for the idea .. Hope you can fix this problem /request .

### 5/5 — AHHH OMG TOO FREAKING CUTE!!!!!!

*2015-11-09, version 1.0*

I just happened to look at my December cosmopolitan issue I received a couple of days ago and the whole cover was about dove and emojis and curls I said awww and laughed of excitement, very good ☺️👏👏👏☝️👍

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs improvement!

*2017-08-09, version 1.2*

This app does not let you use the emoji's for Instagram and on Facebook it posts it as a photo. Would love to see this app working like our regular emojis!

### 1/5 — Allow access to sensitive information? Pass.

*2017-04-13, version 1.2*

In order to use this app you have to give over access to anything has been typed with the keyboard, like credit card numbers and street address information.

### 1/5 — Love the concept, hate the app

*2017-03-27, version 1.2*

I'm a curly girl and I love the idea of having an emoji that represents how I look but the emojis are large and you need to copy and paste so it takes the convenience out of using an emoji. Then the app asks you for full access to your keyboard...no thanks!

### 1/5 — Full Access?! Are you kidding me? I would give zero stars.

*2015-11-13, version 1.0*

Big fail. I don't care what company/brand it is. There will never come a time when I allow any app full access to my keyboard. Come on! People use their smartphones for EVERYTHING these days and that includes shopping/entering cc card info. You can claim you won't record any information all you want, but the fact remains that you still have access to it and that is not ok. Especially considering this app is developed by a third party company... Not Dove. After I saw the need to grant full access I did not even bother installing the keyboard but from the other reviews it seems like a giant pain to actually use the emojis once you've granted them access to your life. Copy and paste? Emojis too large to work on social media platforms? This app is a disaster all around. Try better Dove! Or better yet, stick to what you know... Soap.

### 1/5 — Full Access Denied

*2015-11-11, version 1.0*

The fact that Dev basically wants you to sign your life away and Grant full access to your keyboard and everything you type in including sensitive information is a huge red flag for me, so I immediately deleted the app when I was asked to grant full access. However there are younger teens and children that you smart phones and may not read/understand these terms and conditions and it's kind of scary, so for that reason alone, this app is a definite no for me... If I could give it a zero star rating I would. There is no app or Emoji in the world that could convince me to compromise my security and safety!

### 1/5 — FULL ACCESS?? NEVER!!!

*2015-11-11, version 1.0*

Sorry, but my excitement was busted by the full access request. Four minutes after I installed the keyboard I deleted it. That request to have access to ALL of my information is never going to happen. I am very disappointed in Dove for that. If they take that away I would give it a try.

### 1/5 — Not Happy

*2015-11-08, version 1.0*

I was super stoked about curly haired emojis, but I remember when emojis first came out, you downloaded the app and installed the keyboard. Then you could delete the app. Well I did that and the emojis went away. And now I'm having difficulty redownloading the app. I should be able to keep the emojis without having to save the app, right?

### 1/5 — 0 stars

*2015-11-06, version 1.0*

It was terrible. Didn't like how you had to copy and paste. You couldn't use on social media. I also didn't like the full access feature especially considering it was a third party. Deleted the app right away. Disappointing. Dove should stick to making soap. Failed at making an app big time. Big mistake on their part. Don't want to give them access to my personal info. Bye👋🏽

### 1/5 — Does Not Work

*2015-11-06, version 1.0*

I was excited about having emojis that look like me. But the copy and paste feature does not and renders the whole thing useless! It's just something taking up space on my phone. Deleting until the bugs and kinks are worked out. And that full access thing? Not good either!

### 1/5 — Full access

*2015-11-04, version 1.0*

U can't use the emojies unless you give full access to your phone. iPhone prompts a msg when you give permission that the developers could then record key strokes/creditcard #, so I tried to using it w/out. When trying to switch keyboards, it again asks the user to give full access & in parentheses says it doesn't save info. So for now in the world of hacking info easily, no thanks.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I'm loving this app!

*2017-09-24, version 1.2*

I've always been a little sad my emojis didn't have curly hair. When I found this app I was overjoyed! There are so many curly hair emojis for me to finally express myself! This is such a great app!

### 5/5 — Great emoji set!

*2017-05-29, version 1.2*

So glad to find these emoji to share with the beautifully, curly-haired woman I love. And BTW, this is how emoji's work with that much detail and animation (yes, GIFs!). They're larger than standard iOS system emoji and require you to paste them in after selection. No biggie. Maybe Apple will some day make the process easier for third-party developers to add emojis to iOS keyboards. But for now, this is amazingly great—and free! And with multiple skin tone options!

### 5/5 — Dove emojis

*2016-01-13, version 1.1*

Thank you so much for this option!!! You guys are truly up to date with current styles!

### 5/5 — I'm in love

*2016-01-06, version 1.1*

I love, love, love the diverse emojis that represent women of color! I have the iPhone 6 Plus and the app works great. You do have to get use to the keyboard transformation and toggling between keyboards which can be a tiny hassle if you have large fingers lol! Overall very cute and girly 💁🏽

### 5/5 — Love!!!

*2015-12-06, version 1.1*

I absolutely love the movement. Big s/o to the people behind this. Of course, the emojis could be smaller, more like the currents ones, etc., But the fact that someone took the initiative (before Apple themselves) to create an emoji for natural curly head girls is amazing to me. Dove just gave me another reason to love and to continue to support the brand. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Help! I can't get it to show up :(

*2015-12-05, version 1.1*

I love the images and want to use it but try as I might I can't get it to show up in my text message key board :/

### 5/5 — Life

*2015-11-28, version 1.0*

This app is very useful Apple needs to actually put curly emojis on the keyboard like the races I give it five stars it is amazing and I use it all the time

### 5/5 — I LOVE THEM!!!

*2015-11-10, version 1.0*

Being able to use emojis that actually look like me meant so much to me! As soon as I found out about them I downloaded them and I am pleased with the results!

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2015-11-10, version 1.0*

It is too cute. I also love how u can change the shades of skin to match yourself, as well as the the different hair styles. Love it!

### 5/5 — Dove Love Your Curls

*2015-11-10, version 1.0*

I love the Curls, but I'm Irish descendent with dark brown curls with fair complexion. I pick your lights skin tone, but my hubby said even if I use tanning lotion I still would be pale! I do hope your staff can tweet it to include us dark curls tops with fair skin tone.
Thanks
