### 5/5 — Downpour is great!

*2024-07-02, version 1.1.4*

Brilliant! I love this game!

### 5/5 — What’s not to love?

*2024-06-20*

Easy to use, and lots of fun to have in this simple app. It’s not perfect but it’s free and it’s made out of pure love and for everyone to enjoy. I’m recommending it to fellow artists that want to try creating games without too much hassle. Thank you from Spain.

### 5/5 — Awesome game

*2024-06-14, version 1.1.4*

It’s so fun

### 5/5 — Really Cool & Fun with Friends

*2024-04-30, version 1.1.3*

Well done. It’s not too complicated and you’re able to get making games quickly!

This game is most fun with friends. While I can follow my friends, I can’t like or comment on their games. I also cannot see how many people have viewed my game after I’ve published it. For games like this, some sort of ‘popularity’ or ‘fame’ system is essential, especially if you’re posting your own works.

If you don’t want to monitor several comments, a ‘liking’ system would still be just as effective.
This system would make the game!

Good luck!

### 5/5 — THE BEST

*2024-04-19, version 1.1.3*

REALLY FUN AND REALLY SIMPLE

One thing though could you make it so people can add videos to projects

### 5/5 — Really good!

*2024-04-09, version 1.1.2*

Downpour is really good overall ,easy to use, fast editing, but my only problem is that you can’t add music or sound effects, so dev could you please add music and sound effects.😀😃😄😺👍🏻👍🏻

### 5/5 — It’s amazing but it needs a tut

*2024-04-07, version 1.1.1*

It’s genuinely pretty good, but I can’t find a tut on yt and i still haven’t figured it out so if u could add a tut that would b great!!

### 5/5 — Fast, fun, full of cats

*2024-03-29, version 1.1.1*

Super fun and easy to use, so much clever stuff you can do with it. Make games in like 40 seconds and send them to a friend! 😍

### 5/5 — You can make games on your phone!!!!

*2024-03-25, version 1.1.1*

You can make a game on a bus journey! In the doctor’s office! Wherever !!!!

### 5/5 — Downpour encourages creativity and meaningful engagement

*2024-03-20, version 1.1.1*

Downpour (still don’t get the name) is a really neat way to produce gamified art. Anything you post is elevated by its interaction with the audience. It’s oddly similar to social media in a way, since you upload images to use as the background. But can be a lot more intimate when you interact with an post rather then be a passive observer. That’s before you begin to actually make a game, and there are plenty of creative examples of that.

### 4/5 — Good but needs one thing

*2024-03-16, version 1.1.1*

It’s amazing and easy but I think the devs should add an image bank with placeholders or a feature to draw sprites for example the phone I use has a scratched unusable camera so what can I do except hope for this.

### 5/5 — digital zine maker

*2024-03-15, version 1.1.1*

Intended for games but I've been having fun experimenting with little zines

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Yaaay then ARRRGGH!!!

*2024-03-17, version 1.1.1*

I downloaded Downpour, signed up, logged in and created my first game. All good and happy.
But arrrggh, I’ve logged out to check all was ok with logging back in (as there was no password, just an email link) and now I’m locked out and can’t find a way to log in again. I’m just sent in a never ending loop from the emailed link.
I’d really like to carry on creating and using the same username. Here’s hoping you’re able to help.
If the problems are fixed there’s be 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Não gostei

*2024-03-14*

Amei

### 2/5 — Don’t get me rong but…🫣

*2024-07-15, version 1.1.4*

This game was fun and all but it was realy hard to find out what to no wile you wer trying to make a game on the app it did not give a proper tutorial and I delayted it I’m srry I just did not find it that…instrutionoal

### 2/5 — “Easiest game making tool”

*2024-03-08*

it is literally so hard just to make a transition you go link to and then it will just put a photo on top of that other photo then the text will go and then you put the text back and then realise it doesn’t link to that. Then you linked it to it, and then it doesn’t work for some reason. because the photo isn’t even there DO NOT DOWNLOAD

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear you had problems with the editing interface! There's more work to be done explaining how it works, hopefully I can make it more straightforward for people in the future.

### 3/5 — Ka

*2024-03-15*

Ich versteh das Spiel nicht so, aber ich gebe mal gute Bewertungen, damit die Herstellerin ein wenig Geld verdient!! Lg

### 3/5 — Early access?

*2024-03-15, version 1.1.1*

I’ve been using scratch to make my games for years now and this promised to be quick. So I got it and started trying to make a battle game (just a player that kills slimes) little did I know there was no function/blocks or Evan scripts! (I WAS LOOKING FOR 15 min) at this state, it is simply unusable piece of software for game development. I suggest adding coding for the people who want it.

Note: the software felt fun to use, responsive, and pleasantly decorated. I wish I could’ve used it!

### 4/5 — The future is user gen games

*2024-06-14, version 1.1.4*

I’ve been saying for a while that the future of a/c will be normal users creating games and everything we consume will be built on a game engine - music, film, TV shopping… everything. So whilst it took me a while to get my head round this and I am not a coder brain - this really helped me learn to storyboard, overcome my anxiety of trying to complete something that makes sense and then just making myself work it out taught me how to just stick at it. I came back to it a couple of times as I couldn’t work it out. Also typing on mobile requires needle fingers which sometimes I feel I don’t have. Anyways. I made a game! I’m so proud of myself but most of all I love the brains of the other people on this. I laughed so much making tea or guessing the contents of a festival toilet. Beautiful.

### 4/5 — It’s PowerPoint

*2024-06-02, version 1.1.4*

The “make a game” is a pretty loose term. It’s basically what you can make in PowerPoint but on your phone. Interesting concept though and ease of access

### 4/5 — Really cool app

*2024-04-25*

I like how you can easily make really simple games but It would be nice if you were able to insert short videos, animations for the text, transitions between the pages and music or sound effects in general. Overall it’s a fun app and it’s worth a try!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review! And yes, I want all of those things! A good amount of work, though, but hopefully someday.

### 4/5 — very good startup

*2024-03-27, version 1.1.1*

i can see this app becoming something super cool, you can create choose-your own adventures, interactive journals, lots of cool stuff with zero knowledge of coding. the game doesn’t have script options but i don’t see that as a setback as this is for people who just want to have fun making games without needing to learn code. there are a few features that can definitely be improved but for such a new app i have high hopes! really fun so far :)

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — :)

*2026-04-25, version 1.1.9*

I love the creativity of this app but if it had animation like alight motion it would be super cool.

### 5/5 — Amazing game! Could be better.

*2026-04-23, version 1.1.9*

Absolute cinema. But there is a few things it could improve on. Maybe add sounds that are triggered, either exported from your camera roll or recorded? This is literally the only thing I had to say lol. Just wanted to make sure this was considered! Amazing game!

### 5/5 — Elegant game maker!

*2026-01-02, version 1.1.9*

Downpour allows you to make quick and shareable interactive experiences. Have you tried making a game yet? This engine is a great place to start!! Thank you to the devs for making it 💜

### 5/5 — Playful

*2025-10-24, version 1.1.9*

I have to admit it took me awhile to figure out how this works. But now I have, I can see endless opportunities for creative time wasting. Love it!

### 5/5 — AMAZING FUN

*2025-09-21, version 1.1.9*

I AM HOPELESS WITH TECH STUFF - THIS APP IS SO EASY TO USE AND SO MUCH FUN . Creative possibilities are endless 🤗 Creator is so cool and knowledgeable too 🤗

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-05-29, version 1.1.9*

I love this app!!! It has no subscription, no adds, and a great community. Need I say more?

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-09-28*

This is very great for children to play

### 5/5 — Really cute and easy to use

*2024-09-13, version 1.1.6*

Simple and easy to use and really fun. Made a game for a friends birthday.

### 5/5 — What else would i ever want to do with my photos?

*2024-08-09, version 1.1.4*

A really immediate and intuitive tool for turning photos — that live on our phones already — into small interactive sequences, experiences.

Easy to learn. Teach a friend!

### 5/5 — 1 app for people who enjoy FUN!

*2024-07-18, version 1.1.4*

I’m using Downpour to build my website but am constantly distracted by making/playing wild games on the platform. Super accessible tool for creatives with endless possible cool things to make.
