The perfectly curated content and unmatched detail are simply the best in the business. What truly sets them apart, however, is the team behind the product. After a recent inquiry, their support team not only responded quickly but went absolutely above and beyond to help. It's rare to find a company that backs an outstanding product with equally outstanding customer service. A truly 5-star experience. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — Easy to use guide *2025-03-07* I’m not the most computer literate person but I found the mobile app very easy to use and navigate! Lots of great information! A must for every sailor. 5 stars. ### 1/5 — App is infuriatingly hopeless *2025-02-20* I was so excited to have a digital Doyle guide…Until I tried to use it. Every time you open the app and you have to go through all the available guides to find the one you purchased. Then it does not work like the book. A simple online PDF format would be better. If it just had a contents / chapter page that then linked you to each chapter. Or an interactive Index. I tried using the search function and after hours of trying various keywords, could find nothing on very obvious topics (eg Cousteau Marine Reserve in Guadeloupe). The only thing that is relatively simple to find is anchoring / approach info. Gave up and went to the chandlery to try and get a hard copy…which it seems they no longer stock. Subscription cancelled and back to google it is. Using this on an iPad is maddening. Every few minutes the app freezes then closes. I’ve never seen an app perform this poorly. As we make our way through the island we will use this app for our planning - the map tool is also useful. ### 5/5 — Great app while sailing Caribbean *2024-09-04* Took the family on a 2 week trip and this was the best app we could find. ### 2/5 — Stranded without content *2024-05-11* So far, we’re not impressed. We subscribed before our trip but the content was blocked after the trial expired yesterday even though the Apple ID shows us subscribed and active. We are now hours from starting our charter with no access. We would have purchased the hard copy but it is unavailable everywhere. No doubt this is to sell app subscriptions. We have 2 other Doyle guide books which have good content but the app idea is terrible if it can’t be accessed easily. **Developer response:** Hi, I'm so sorry the app took an extra day to update your subscription status. I know that when you're on charter every day counts! Unfortunately subscription status updates and initial download of content rely on and can be affected by internet connection quality, but I'm glad you were able to access the content. Updated hard copies of our Leewards books will be available this November. Our regular update and reprint schedule was affected by Covid, which is why hard copies have been hard to come by, and was a major factor in our decision to put the Leeward content on the app - we wanted to make it available to those that otherwise could not get a hard copy. It was perfect during the planning stages of our trip as well as the sailing.
