## What is DraftLantern?

A place for your words—and everything that helps them grow.

DraftLantern brings your manuscripts, story plans, characters, and writing progress together in a warm, focused workspace.

WRITE YOUR NEXT CHAPTER
Organize books into chapters and scenes. Write in the editor or use Focus Mode, with word counts and autosave supporting your writing sessions. Scroll your manuscript at your own pace.

PLAN THE STORY
Use the Planner to organize scenes and track their status. Keep character profiles, story notes, and revision passes close to the manuscript they belong to.

BUILD A WRITING HABIT
Set word goals and deadlines, review your progress, and start timed or word-goal writing sprints. Pause, resume, or finish a session as your day allows.

KEEP CONTROL OF YOUR FILES
Export manuscripts as TXT or Markdown using the iOS share sheet. Save a portable .draftlantern backup of your library and import it when you need to restore a saved copy. Import replaces the current library after confirmation and creates a local safety snapshot first.

YOUR WRITING, OFFLINE FIRST
The core writing and organization tools work locally without an account. DraftLantern does not generate your writing with AI or send manuscripts to an AI service. You choose when to save or share exported files through your device's available services.

Keep independent backups of important work. Portable backups and text exports are readable files, not encrypted archives. Cloud file providers and sharing destinations may need an internet connection.

Your story. Your words. Your way.
