### 1/5 — Defunct

*2026-02-23, version 1.0*

I’m guessing this app is no longer in use as it will not login or work with the chargers. ClenergyEV seem to have taken it over as the app looks and smells the same and actually works. The support number is the same and nobody answers emails to the dragon charging email address. Why is this app still in the App Store 🤷‍♂️

### 1/5 — Horrific app

*2026-02-20, version 1.0*

Rarely logs on. Dreadful app.

### 1/5 — Awful - doesn’t take payment, doesn’t work

*2026-01-01, version 1.0*

I assume this company won’t last long because their payment processing doesn’t work, and even if it did there is no Apple Pay or auto fill credit card details. Customer suppport just puts on hold with no answer

### 1/5 — Given up

*2026-01-01, version 1.0*

it’s embarrassing that this is the main EV charging provider in Pembrokeshire. The app simply doesn’t work and most of the chargers are 7 or 22kw, so it will either take hours or you will wait hours for someone else to finish charging. If I come back to Pembrokeshire I will hire a non EV, will probably go to the lakes or Scotland instead. One Star seems too high!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-12-31, version 1.0*

Web page worked but app doesn’t take payment so can’t use it

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-11-29, version 1.0*

Won’t let me add a card. Absolute joke of an app, might as well not bother installing the charging points if there’s no way to pay for or use them.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-11-21, version 1.0*

Terrible app never works when required. Very quick to take a £ top up but woeful when it come to linking to car to actually charge a vehicle.

### 1/5 — Just useless

*2025-10-31, version 1.0*

Downloaded recently before travelling to Wales. At charging station, firstly App won’t register to find the charger, then after multiple relaunches of App, the prepayment fails to work. What’s the point!!??

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2025-10-31, version 1.0*

Tried to use this app during a recent holiday to Wales, three different locations and couldn’t get the app to work at any of them, stuck on the wheel of doom on the payment page. Called the helpline and thankfully they could start the charge remotely. By the third time I asked if there was an issue with their app, their reply: it’s probably too windy!

### 1/5 — Useless!

*2025-10-25, version 1.0*

Tried to put my card details in but it’s just spins and doesn’t accept them. Tried to register an account and never even received a confirmation email! An absolute waste of time!

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2025-10-18, version 1.0*

Never works first time. Constantly have issues with the chargers or refusing payment methods. Have to delete and reinstall the app constantly

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-09-29, version 1.0*

Don’t know what the hell happened but car isn’t changed.

### 1/5 — Not the best of experiences

*2025-09-14, version 1.0*

Unfortunately this app is glitchy and constantly goes c into the dreaded wiring cycle of death.
When I got it to work there was absolutely no internet connection close enough to the bollards to enable charging.
Even customer support could not help.
The advice was find a charger that was in an area that had mobile signal.
Very very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Amateur app and chargers.

*2025-08-07, version 1.0*

This app feels terribly amateur, there’s no charger rating information, scan the qr code and every time it says not recognised. The chargers are poor and corroded and never seem to work, the only way I can usually charge is by phoning the helpline, which isn’t always possible given the poor mobile signal in Wales.

### 1/5 — Amateur app, amateur charging

*2025-06-24, version 1.0*

App doesn’t provide a link to your on device Card details thus making it very difficult to enter the required banking info. Thereafter it’s just a painful faff to start a charging session. With no other competitor you can see why they don’t bother improving the app or the charging infrastructure. At £0.65/kwh it’s very expensive. Will use it sparingly as it’s too stressful. Life is too short.

### 1/5 — Forever loading

*2024-12-23, version 1.0*

Current version in December 2024 takes ages to load any sites. Totally hopeless. Not an issue with my WiFi, but the app when choosing a site might take a few minutes to load. Totally useless.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worst charging experience

*2026-08-11, version 3.3.0*

Used Dragon chargers in Pembrokeshire and it has been the worst charging experience of any charging network. When you can finally connect to a charger (it seems quite random whether it does or not), the payment system sometimes doesn’t work. Have had conversations with other EV owners at Dragon chargers wondering why they can be so unreliable. App looks amateurish and the functionality is sporadic. There are a couple of Dragon chargers in Freshwater East that were installed where there is no phone signal, so you can’t even get the app to work unless you go over to a pub and use their wifi before running back and hoping that the connection hasn’t timed out before connecting. Ridiculous planning from whoever installed them there. Whenever I see a Dragon charger now I don’t bother wasting time. Shame, as there are a lot of them about, but fortunately other charging networks are upping their game

### 1/5 — Dragon slain by bad app

*2026-06-30, version 3.3.0*

Took me 40 minutes to get a charge after a lot of hoopla with website, cards and busted chargers. The call centre advised “no app, no charge” but if the app misbehaves… they cannot assist. Catch-22. A drag for me now but a drag on tourism in Wales as EV charging increases. An absolute shambles from app to website to charge points.

### 1/5 — Terrible app - incredibly difficult to initiate a charge

*2026-06-24, version 3.3.0*

Just awful to use…sometimes it works ok, sometimes i find myself in some kind of verification hell-loop, with a sad green spinning circle. At least there are receipts on the app now, but there’s really no excuse for such poor usability. There are plenty of examples of simple charger apps out there. The whole Dragon system is overly complicated and a bit bonkers.

### 1/5 — Can’t register credit card

*2026-06-06, version 3.3.0*

Very poor, couldn’t register company credit for use which is used on multiple other EV charging apps

### 1/5 — Payment not working

*2026-04-09, version 1.0*

Didn’t accept 2 payment methods and couldn’t charge

### 1/5 — Awful app that doesn’t work

*2026-04-05, version 1.0*

Awful app that doesn’t work. It’s not the mobile signal because the website works fine. EV charging isn’t the slickest process and this just makes it worse. Sort it out dragon, and don’t take customers for granted.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-04-03, version 1.0*

Doesn’t log in. These chargers are dependent upon being connected to the internet. So, why are they being used in areas where there is little to no mobile signal? App is terrible.

### 1/5 — Worst charging network

*2026-03-15, version 1.0*

If you’re in need of a charge for your ev find another charger. App doesn’t connect no matter how strong a 5g signal you’ve got. Absolutely useless

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-02-28, version 1.0*

Terrible app, terrible charger - avoid

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-02-26, version 1.0*

Tried many times to login but the green circle is working better than the app! Login error…
Missed the swimming session just because of this trying!

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Dragon Charger

*2026-04-08, version 1.0*

Charged twice using the App. Very simple and easy to use.
Charger worked well at 60kw dead on throughout the charge.

### 5/5 — It’s wales so it doesn’t work

*2025-11-11, version 1.0*

It’s great to see these new dragon chargers springing up , at my Gym, car parks and visitor places, it would be nice if I could get one of them to work.
The car is never accepted, the green circle of death just goes around and around while people smirk at you struggling while they watch an EV driver struggling.
Frankly Dragon need to go back to the drawing board and start again, other CPO’s can do it so why not you, oh wait it’s Welsh so it will never happen of course

### 5/5 — Nothing to complain about.

*2023-05-29, version 1.0*

I’m not sure if the app has been updated since the other bad reviews but I certainly have nothing to complain about. Today I pulled up at a charging point, downloaded the app, typed in the code for the charger, put in my card details and away it went.

The only improvement I would make is adding some form of apple/google pay as you have to manually enter in your card details currently.

### 4/5 — Works OK in Hay

*2022-08-30, version 1.0*

Worked fine in Hay on Wye. No need to sign up which is good, just asked for credit card number, plugged in and started charging. One issue was the scanning of the QR code on the charger didn’t work (it said not found) so had to use the app’s map to zoom in and select the exact charger from that instead. Decent 11kw charge rate and reasonable price.

### 3/5 — Works with Octopus app

*2025-09-27, version 1.0*

Update Sep 2025: this app no longer works with my credit cards, just get a spinning circle. However got the charger to work with the Octopus Electroverse app which is a great app.

2022: Worked fine in Hay on Wye.

### 3/5 — Still a Disaster of an App

*2024-10-04, version 1.0*

But I rang helpline & Rhodri based in Narbeth (?)was extremely helpful. The app recognised no passwords, wouldn’t start charging; Rhodri helped restart. I’d set a limit of 80% & stopped charging on my dash but couldn’t access app to stop charge so had to ring Rhodri - came to the rescue.
It shouldn’t be this complicated or useless. I don’t have to supply log in details on CC or bank app. Why have an app that needs log-in details each time? - Rhodri: 5 star ; the rest of the system: 0⭐️

### 2/5 — Poor

*2026-06-25, version 3.3.0*

❌No indication of charges in app
❌Doesn’t support Apple Pay
❌Doesn’t allow you to add a credit/debit card from your wallet
✅ uses stripe for payments
❌ Doesn’t use any of the useful features of stripe like prefill card info
✅One registration method uses address search
❌the other doesn’t
✅ supports Electroverse.

### 2/5 — Needed to pay, useless for finding a charger

*2022-12-27, version 1.0*

This app isn’t bad to navigate around. It’s needed to pay at the charging stations in wales. The major flaw is the charging station finder. It’s good that is shows the connectors, but most people on the move, can’t wait for a 7kw charger. The app doesn’t tell you what kWh the charger is! Not only that, nether do the stations when you get there! You have to use Zap-Map to make sure you are in the charger you want. I almost wanted to buy a tin of spray paint today and mark up the charger power on them!

### 2/5 — Bad

*2022-08-10, version 1.0*

A lot of the chargers in west wales seem to have migrated to this from GeniePoint. Given the nationalist name it feels like a cash grab by local authorities. Everything about this app feels amateur; it only loads properly every other time, gives me no info about the rating of the charger. I’ve had no luck connecting to a charger via the map, only by typing the charger number into the app. When browsing chargers via the map, if you press back, it will take you back to your location rather than where you were browsing (very frustrating!).
There’s a huge problem having chargers that only work via app in some of their locations, as there is no mobile signal. When using a charger in Porthgain I had to plug the car in then wait until I had WiFi at a nearby restaurant to activate it with my fingers crossed, feel like the chargers should be equipped with a low traffic wifi hotspot.
I’d give one star but as I managed to successfully charge I will bump it up to 2.
