Vr mode is just you looking around as you follow a ninja killing people with the same looping moves. You don't get to do anything.

This game is basically impossible to go beyond 10 kills without regularly buying potions that cost more than what you make from those kills.

Without either automatic health recovery or dropped health pickups allowing a realistic deeper run this game is at the point where the typical gamer simply cannot progress before losing interest.
