DragonSphere makes caring for and managing reptiles and invertebrates simple and reliable. Designed specifically for keepers and breeders, the app lets you organize all essential animal data in one place — from names, photos, morph, and feeding schedules to birthdays, sex, feeder types, and species. Document feedings, sheds, and weight and size measurements, complemented by reminders for feedings and cleanings so nothing gets forgotten. Manage your terrariums and assign animals and cleanup crew. Animals can be exported and imported with all their data via AirDrop to other devices (Premium). Your data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced securely to your private cloud — no registration required. The free version supports up to seven reptiles and invertebrates with all core features. Available in 38 languages. These tasks are now reliably closed or re-created for every bulk action. Also: if a bulk action fails, you now get a notice – previously the action just appeared to do nothing. Genetics: a hand-written morph used to be lost as soon as structured genetics was filled in – that text is now preserved. Free-text genetics is also a permanent field of its own from now on: your only genetics field without Premium, and with Premium optionally shown alongside structured genetics and hideable in Settings. If you already lost some free-text entries: the new restore dialog for backup import offers an “Add missing” mode – it fills in missing or empty details from an older backup without overwriting your current data. Breeding: juveniles moved from a clutch into your collection can be deleted again – previously they could in rare cases stay protected as “external”. Backup restore: opening a backup file via double-click or AirDrop now takes you straight to the restore – with a confirmation first (modes “Add missing”, “Overwrite”, “Skip”), so it's clear what happens to animals you already have. Restore error messages are also more specific now – e.g. when a file isn't fully downloaded from iCloud yet or is damaged. And if the animals were restored but their photos could not be saved, your lists are now updated correctly anyway. Error log: entries can now be shared or copied, and the displayed time window is selectable (24h/48h/7 days/15 days) instead of a fixed 48-hour limit. Large backups with many photos: when restoring, the backup file is no longer loaded into memory as a whole – it is read from disk photo by photo. That removes the previous size limit; what matters now is the free storage on your device. If there isn't enough, you are told exactly that, instead of the file being rejected as “too large”. ### 1.4.6 — 2026-07-18 Fixed a Mac crash: certain forms could rarely crash the app on Mac – this is now fixed. Also: behind-the-scenes modernization of the data architecture to prepare the app for future platforms. ### 1.4.5 — 2026-07-15 Performance with large collections: the app has been extensively optimized for very large collections — lists with tens of thousands of animals now load in seconds instead of minutes, even collections with many photos, without freezing. Searching, sorting, and counting now run directly in the database, and backup export and restore no longer block the interface. iCloud sync: values such as an animal’s last feeding now reliably arrive on all devices. A one-time automatic repair cleans up records that were already affected, and the sync engine has been additionally hardened in several places. QR Scanner: after the first scan, the camera used to remain paused permanently — fixed. Deceased, sold, external, or trashed animals as well as deleted Feeder are now reliably rejected when scanned instead of being fed by mistake. New (Premium): QR Quick Scan – scan multiple animals or groups in a row without closing the scan sheet in between. Every valid scan is added to a running list (with a quantity stepper and swipe-to-delete); tapping “Save” then books all collected feedings at once. SoloPlan integration: stubborn stale tasks that stayed in SoloPlan despite being completed are now reliably closed. External reference animals no longer appear in feeding and fecal sample tasks, and enclosure changes (interval, deactivation, deletion) are now correctly followed through. Sorting & display: offspring in a clutch are now sorted naturally (1, 2, 10 instead of 1, 10, 2). Alphabetical sorting now respects the system language throughout the app. Weights and sizes now follow your regional format (e.g. “2.9 g”), and the pedigree now shows the animal’s species. Animal profile: the birth date can now be marked as “unknown” — handy for rescued or found animals whose exact birth date isn’t known. Animal profile: a new “Clutches” row shows every clutch the animal is registered in as sire or dam, with a direct jump to the respective clutch detail view. Species list: each species now shows its stock right in the list, just like groups — total count plus a gender breakdown. The count display is now labeled (instead of a bare number), for both species and groups. Stability & quality: a crash when recording feeder deliveries has been fixed, and when discarding unsaved input (measurements, feeders, feedings) the app now warns you instead of silently losing changes. Under the hood, deleting, merging, and restoring animals has been thoroughly hardened, several sources of data glitches in genetics snapshots and species assignment have been closed, premium purchase handling was reworked, and many parts of the app architecture were cleaned up. Automated test coverage more than tripled in this release, from 91 to 328 tests. Enclosure list: misting status is now shown directly in the list, just like the cleaning status. Animal profile: a new “From clutch” row links directly to the animal's origin clutch, if known. ### 1.4.4 — 2026-07-04 Bug fix for data backup: when creating a backup or exporting to CSV, morph combinations, compound genes, and the link between hybrid species and their two parent species were previously not included. As of this version, backups and exports contain this data in full and restore it correctly. Backups created with earlier versions can still be imported without any issues. New (Premium): Pedigree – shows the ancestors of an animal across multiple generations. You can now assign parents directly on the animal (the "Ancestry" section in the animal editor) – including for animals that don't come from one of your own clutches. Stored parent links from the breeding management are evaluated; missing ancestors are reconstructed from clutch snapshots. The pedigree can be exported as a PDF certificate of pedigree. New (Premium): External Breeding Animals – borrowed or loaned animals from other keepers can now be recorded as fully functional breeding animals. They appear in their own list and can be selected directly as a parent in a breeding project. The parent picker has been extended with four segments: owned animals, external, sold, and deceased. ### 1.4.3 — 2026-06-28 This version completes the major iCloud sync overhaul, focused on comprehensive duplicate cleanup: • The duplicate check was reworked from the ground up and now reliably handles very large data sets. • Duplicates created during cleanup are now removed for good – no longer only after 30 days.
