No… not on board with these tactics and making me not want to use the app no more… instead of updates with added new features… we keep getting in app purchases all the time! Not cool! **Developer response:** Thanks for the review. I understand the concern, but Drambo has been in continuous development for about 5 years, and a large number of new modules, features and improvements have been added for free during that time. There are only a few DSP IAPs, they cost $4.99 each, and each one includes multiple modules/features. The main app is still $24.99, which I’ve tried to keep very affordable for what Drambo offers. The occasional IAPs are not meant to replace free updates. They help make continued development sustainable. After 5 years, without some additional revenue, I simply couldn’t keep developing and supporting Drambo indefinitely. I know this model won’t suit everyone, but I think it’s a fair way to keep Drambo growing without turning every new feature into a purchase. ### 2/5 — nickle and dime *2026-06-19, version 2.53* all the wave form tunables are hidden behind IAPs and this isn’t made clear before purchase, ### 5/5 — Most Versatile Mobile DAW *2026-01-14, version 2.48* This is the best mobile groovebox I've ever used, so much so I consider it a DAW. An audio/midi Swiss army knife that covers sequencing, synthesis, sampling, effects - you name it, you can do it with a bit of playing around. I also evangelise this app at my monthly producer meet-ups. Best groovebox on iOS, period. ### 5/5 — Stellar. Drambo does all the things, and does them well. *2025-11-11* I’ve had Drambo for a few months, and it just keeps impressing and surprising me. There is a bit of a learning curve, but there is also plenty of help via the dev’s site and included tutorials (not to mention the new Help system with the last update.) That said, once you get over the hump Drambo is fast and intuitive. This is one of those humbling apps that makes you think twice before buying that new shiny hardware or app… “can I build it Drambo?” The answer is most likely “yes.” The in-app purchases are worth every penny. The UI makes excellent use of screen real estate, and helps keep you focused on the task at hand. I can’t stress how important that part is, and how other iOS apps drop the ball in that realm. The modules sound great. Is this the best, smoothest, angriest Sallen-Key filter I’ve heard in the digital domain? Probably. I’m a “hardware” guy and it takes a lot for me to get excited about iPad music apps. Drambo, Koala Sampler, and a knobby MIDI controller will keep m happy for the foreseeable future. ### 5/5 — Wow! *2025-11-05* I should have bought this app years ago. I have finally found something to replace ModStep. The developer has done a brilliant job. The workflow is perfect. Took a little time to understand the layouts etc but all sorted now. Thank you ### 5/5 — A really lovely bit of software *2025-08-28* I’ve only had this for a few days, but you can feel the love that went into it. It’s very flexible, and I’m only scratching the surface. My only critism so far is the arbitrary length of track you can have which seems to be limited to 16 bars. Weirdly this can be extended if you slow down the internal clock of the track. Seems super stable too. I haven’t yet experimented within a daw so can’t comment on that **Developer response:** Thank you! A single clip can be up to 16 bars long, and a song may consist of many clips/patterns. Many bugs, such as where modules just stop working or disconnect from each other randomly. Very easy to destroy a project (for example, the delete function sometimes inserts a select all just before you hit delete, poof all your work is gone), and there’s no undo. And I’ve found others in my first day with Drambo. Just had my first crash after the recorder module become very confused and wouldn’t record over the previous recording. Looks like it’s been a year since the last update, hope it hasn’t been abandoned and that there will be an update soon to fix the bugs and make the us more usable. Just crashed again, two days two crashes, not reliable enough to be a primary creative tool, unfortunate because it could be. Edit: the sampler is unusable and will crash your project every time if you make any simple mistake when creating zones. And because the autosave also doesn’t work, you will lose everything, over and over. Latest Big Sur OS, latest version of Drambo. Zilch. Developer responded with a couple of suggestions, but none of them worked and they haven't replied since, so obviously doesn't care I have this issue. All my other iOS/Mac compatible apps work without a hitch. Please fix. Deleted. ### 1/5 — Needs an update to fix audio/midi bug *2022-04-10, version 1.40* Seems like a nice app but every time I use it on my iPad Air 4, the audio stops working. All other apps work fine but even if I close and reopen Drambo it doesn’t play any sound. The only way for me to fix it is to restart my iPad. It doesn’t look like it has been updated for over a year so I’m guessing this is abandomware so I got a refund. ### 1/5 — Patches won’t open *2022-03-26, version 1.40* I bought this app to try some of the patches I’ve seen videos of. 90% of the patches I download from patchstorage.com won’t open. I tried using chrome and safari. I tried moving them to the icloud folder. I recreated just about every synth patch from other stuff with Drambo and the ability to fiddle with any connection however you want leads to so much creative possibilities. I was initially intimidated but once you get over the first hour it’s hard to really go back to anything else with this level of power, quality and flexibility. This is a fine app and developer. ### 5/5 — 控えめに言って最高！！！ *2026-06-22* 何故いままでこのアプリを知らなかったのかと悔やまれるほどにいい！ 概要はモジュラーシンセとdawシーケンサーを合わせた感じ。 abletonライクなインターフェースで凡そ触っているだけで理解できる。 音源、シーケンサー、どちらをとっても扱い易く、それでいて安直な物ではなく高機能、凡その事を満たしている。しかし基本的にはdawではなくモジュラーとシーケンサーなので、オーディオはサンプラーでの扱い。 アプリで言えばmi rackのような見た目にまんまモジュラーのような物は、モジュラー弱者として難解。sanvoxは音源は最高だがシーケンサーがトラッカーの為扱い辛いら。 zenbeatsはdawっぽい事殆どできてしかも安いけど、なにか物足りない。 gadgetはコンセプト強めで、自由度が無く窮屈さを覚える。 そんな時にdramboに出会って最高か！っていう。 個人的にシーケンサー部で気に入っているのは、ステップシーケンサーの時に、ボタンの数をトリプレットにできる事。fl studioなんかではトリプレットはピアノロールで打ち込むしかなかったが、こちらではステップシーケンサーとピアノロールでグリッドがリンクしてくれる。 発売されて数年経つのに、何故日本語の情報がこんなにも無いのか不思議なくらい。 もっと日本でも知られるべきアプリ！ まだ少ししか触っていなけどアプリのデザインとして気になる事は今の所ない。 強いて言えば挙動が不安定、ファイル管理が不自由、あとはフォーラムでも話題になっているUndoが殆ど役に立たないとか。しかし、そんな事は度返しにして、最高なアプリだと思う！ ### 5/5 — This is the coolest music app ever *2026-06-21* I’ve used A LOT of music apps, easily a hundred or more, and worked with developers on several of my favorites like Audulus 3 & 4 and Elastic Drum, this is hands down the most powerful and fastest music creation app I’ve used, it’s like a modular synth meets ableton, I keep finding more reasons to love it every time I use it, I just discovered the crossfader modulator, everything has been somehow intuitive enough that I figured it all out on my own, and idk… I’m just blown away by how much it can do. If I had one suggestion - make the loop sample / slicer default to having time stretch on, and add transient slicing for the offset so that a drum break or melodic loop can be quickly re-sequenced into new sequences, reference the ableton simpler slice mode Amazing work from my favorite developer 🫶🏼 ### 5/5 — Incredible App! *2026-03-27* Drambo has revolutionised my music creation.
