I have no interest in synthesis, I want the soundbanks I bought and the ability to play them uninterrupted. Your iaps are quality and they aren’t cheap. UPDATE, UNUSABLE WITHOUT THE FULLUNLOCK. PLS RESTRICT IAP UNLESS SYNTH IAP IS UNLOCKED. BOUGHT ALL THE IAPS (sans iconic). They really are super high quality presets, pairs great w Ringotron. I personally enjoy dropping 4xinstances in Cem Olkay’s bounce sequencer. Wish I didn’t have to unlock the full synth to use the sounds tho ### 5/5 — My favorite software synth !!! *2024-09-22, version 2.10.0* By far my favorite software synth! Period. So easy to use! So much fun! I never get tired of it since it’s so inspiring to pick up and play. The interface is so intuitive. Sound quality is absolutely incredible. It’s hard to believe this is a software synth after hearing the sound quality. Sooooo analog! The team really spend time on this one. Also very versatile, and it goes very deep for you synth heads. It’s very stable too and can easily handle multiple instances in a DAW. Allerdings ist seit circa zwei Monaten, kein Sound mehr vorhanden. Nur der Standard Sound, vom Öffnen der App. Ansonsten nichts mehr da. wenn das eventuell behoben werden könnte. Dann geb’s auch fünf Sterne. ich finde auch nirgendwo in der App eine Möglichkeit diese zu kaufen. This one delivers and with such oomph. Amazing raw and powerfully evocative sounds. The iconic sounds are a heaven send. I ask the wonderful developers to keep developing iconic sounds. Especially make a special edition Italodisco à la Moroder pack and another pack with the emphasis on Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Vangelis. After a while you can tell the presets kinda sound the same. DRC is so refreshing. Just found out that it has been for YEARS. This synth is special. The filter is raw and beautifully flawed. The modulation options are unique and deep enough to get you into some wild territory. DRC easily slips between experimental and iconic sounds making it a workhorse. All while being simple and clear to program ON LITERALLY ANY PLATFORM. DRC is a perfect choice for anyone, but especially if you are new and interested in synth programming then wow. Great presets, HUNDREDS of easy clear tutorials. It does not load after reopening the project. I contacted support and this issue was acknowledged by the developer back in May 2023, but has not yet been resolved. I have several more applications of this developer and this issue applies to them all. **Developer response:** Hi there. We currently have a beta version that addresses these Logic Pro crashes. Thanks for your feedback ### 1/5 — Dark UI - borderline scam app *2022-01-07, version 2.8.3* Pretty Cool sounds, really strong synth for an iPhone and iPad app…. Even though i paid for a bunch of the upgraded features quite some time ago - and spending $30-45 or more… it isn’t worth ever using. Dark UI scams you out of your money. Not worth it. How you ask? Every time this app automatically offloads to save hard drive space it will not remember your purchases. There is no “restore purchases” option. Clever girl! (Picturing that scene from Jurassic Park when the raptor learns to use the door handle)… because after a few minutes, upon downloading and using it again, it will ask if you would like to purchase an upgrade to continue using. Again there is no restore purchases option. There are many features for purchase on this app and so…. If you have purchased, and agree to buying again… it will restore your purchases at no cost. If you don’t remember if you’ve purchased a feature or not, and you have not…. It will charge you for something you weren’t sure you already owned. After a couple of years of trying to use this synth, and having been charged a couple of times for things that I didn’t really want…. it can safely be assumed this “faulty” UI is undoubtedly on purpose. Come on, it’s been YEARS. Don’t download this garbage, there’s much better options out there for both your ears and your wallet. DARK UI. APPLE, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS. ### 1/5 — Misleading *2021-04-28, version 2.7.0* It's listed as free but last night it gave me an option to unlock or wait few seconds to use as is, that's forcing in-app or at least preventing me from uninterrupted use. I might have to ask Apple but I think it shouldn't be listed as free if I can't keep using it uninterrupted. ### 1/5 — iPad and iPhone *2021-04-19, version 2.7.0* I like the app but I’m not sure why I have to pay to access it on the phone. I’ve already paid for it on the iPad. ### 1/5 — Almost but not quite...yet. *2021-02-06, version 2.6.1* Update: Yes, they're better synths (for far less money), like Audiokit One Synth that's free! $30 for the whole app is laughable. Yes, it has good sound but they're gauging us on it's price. I could see the whole package for $15. ------- I have not come across a developer of iOS apps that locks the whole app if you don't but it. $15 is way too high considering the missing "basic features" (no numerical settings values, no note hold, etc.) And now not being able to even look in the app, I change my 4-star review to 1-star. Deleting the app. There are plenty of good synth apps; Crystal Synth, Mitosynth, Magellan, Animoog, Nave, Sunrizer, TC-11 and iMS-20 are some of my favorites. ----- While DRC does yield some real down and dirty sounds, it's missing two important features that I am surprised the developer didn't design into the app. A note hold button is a necessity. Without one you handcuff the performer constantly tying up one hand with the key board. To do it right you need nite hold as well as note hold toggle. The other is there should be a numerical setting display for the control values so you see what the exact setting is. The user interface is better than many synth apps. That aspect was well thought out. ### 1/5 — Duped *2020-04-22, version 2.2.7* Downloaded the app and then downloaded some patches for £3.99. A few minutes later was confronted wth a message locking the app unless I paid a further £8.99 and I’d barely used it while having parted with my money. Outrageous. ### 1/5 — Too many interruptions *2020-01-21, version 2.2.7* After downloading, I played around with the app, trying to get a feel for it. Unfortunately, every few minutes a dialogue box pops up, enticing me to sign up "forever." If I don’t sign up, I have to wait around ten seconds before the dialog box disappears. This interruption recurs too frequently, so I deleted the app. A shame really, because the app did show promise... but I’m not willing to be put on hold repeatedly while I assess its usefulness. Update... After my review was posted, the developer emailed me, stating that they,” feel sad when people review the business model instead of DRC's sound and features.” The whole point of my review was to highlight the fact that I couldn’t assess the app’s sound and features due to the constant interruptions from “the business model.” As I mentioned in my original review, the app shows promise. But the interruptions are far too frequent, and I feel that potential purchasers should be warned about that simple shortcoming before they download the app. Despite my personal reservations, I wish the developer, and the app, every success. ### 1/5 — Cheap shot *2019-09-13, version 2.2.4* Didn’t like that I had to buy something before the system could be used, any time a purchase came up, if I cancelled, it would not let me back in to the basic model. Only just bought, so it remains to be seen if it is worth it, or if it’s a rip off. ### 1/5 — Beware *2019-07-31, version 2.2.1* This is not a free app, it is free for about 30 seconds then they ask you to pay over £11.00 , if they had been honest in there description I would have considered paying for it. Der Preis ist nicht der Rede wert :-) ### 5/5 — Sounds incredible *2025-11-14, version 2.13.4* This is one of the best-sounding soft synths I’ve ever heard. For me, it’s up there with DIVA. It sounds so warm and alive. Despite a seemingly simple interface, the range of tones you can coax from this synth is expansive and wildly varied (as evidenced by the fantastic preset packs). I think some of the UI choices are questionable (like those buttons for choosing semitone tuning) but that’s a very minor gripe and one that doesn’t detract much from the sheer awesomeness of this synth. The fact that it’s available on iOS as well as Mac is just 👌🏻 Don’t sleep on it! ### 5/5 — A good app *2025-09-25, version 2.13.1* I like this app. I redownloaded it after I bought it years ago and it’s better than it was before.
