## What is Dream Quest?

Play cards! Kill monsters! Level Up!

Dream Quest is a roguelike deckbuilding game inspired by the likes of Ascension, Magic: the Gathering, and Shandalar. Explore randomly generated levels as one of 13 classes in short, 30 minute, sessions. One floor might find your wizard in the crypt, another your warrior underwater, and a third, your assassin stalking a volcanic wasteland. As you progress, your characters earn achievements, each making your future runs a little easier or more interesting.

Combat is a card game. Your abilities are a deck of cards that you develop as you gain power. For example, a thief starts with a handful of Slice cards and a Backstab, but can learn defensive moves like Dodge or powerful finishing moves like Coup de Grace. Carefully choosing which cards to add to your deck is the heart of the game: wise choices will find you slicing through monsters while poor ones will leave you tripping over your own two feet.

Features:
•14 different classes, with wildly different play styles
•Over 300 cards, ranging from the defensive Kick and Armor to the devastating Meteor and Curse of Doom
•More than 70 monsters carefully catalogued in the Bestiary as you encounter them
•Infinite replayability – easily 50 hours to see the majority of the content
•No In App Purchases – the price of the game is the price of the game. Everything is unlocked only by playing.

### 1/5 — Feedback

*2025-10-17, version 1.12*

Hey, I am someone who’s blind, I thought your game was accessible, is there anyway you’d be willing to make the game accessible.

### 5/5 — 5 stars all the way

*2025-09-26*

Well… maybe not the art but it grows on you too ha! I have to periodically delete this game because I can’t stop playing and I need to sleep and work, etc… but I come back a couple times a year- 1. because it’s an excellent rogue dungeon crawl rpg but also 2. because there just aren’t a lot of games of this caliber available. I’m switching between balatro, hearts, and dream quest most of the time I need a game break. Well worth the price and your time. Try not to rage quit when you die - you’ll have to get past a couple humps before you level your skills. Try kitten a couple times then take on the harder challenges - then feel like demi god on professor mode

### 3/5 — Could be more balanced

*2025-08-29*

If I remember correctly, this game either invented the roguelike deckbuilder genre or was one of the very first. I appreciate its place in history and can see why it was so revolutionary. It provided several hours of addictive fun. Unfortunately it suffers from two major flaws: it gets repetitive over time due to the limited number of cards, and there are too many “take that, you’re dead and there’s nothing you can do about it” moments.

### 5/5 — My favourite iOS game ever

*2025-03-28, version 1.12*

Don’t worry about the graphics. The design of this game is incredible, I like it so much more than slay the spire which copied this game greatly but then made some parts worse. Dream quest is less fiddly and in particular takes less time to play through the early easy game where choices in battle don’t matter as much. I’ll be so sad if this game ever disappears from the App Store; it’s the only game I play.

### 3/5 — Fun but ruthlessly hard

*2024-12-27, version 1.12*

I know how rouges work, but I feel like there should be more difficulty levels to spread things out. There’s some battles you get annihilated on that should be straight forward wins.

### 5/5 — due for update

*2024-10-22, version 1.12*

hey peter, i been waiting since before the pandemic for the update. and ill never stop waiting

### 5/5 — Brilliant Game

*2024-09-03, version 1.12*

No update in 7 years, runs like a charm. Still one of the best games available on iOS. No gambling influenced in-game economy with in-app purchases; just addictive and creative gameplay. Part card game, board game, dungeon crawl rpg, and puzzle game all in one. Unique and satisfying. (Yes, there is an in-game economy but you cannot spend real money.)

### 5/5 — My Favorite Game of All Time

*2024-03-16, version 1.12*

If you like Slay the Spire, meet its inspiration.

### 5/5 — Must buy

*2023-11-18, version 1.12*

So much fun, especially on a long plane ride. Would recommend to anyone for a good strategy dungeon game.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2023-09-08, version 1.12*

I play a LOT or roguelike/card battler type games and this is one of my favorites. It has been one of a few games I bother to keep installed on my phone for years
