There is no landscape mode on iPad for the menu. It _will_ switch to landscape if you make the video full screen, but if you go back to the menu, it will rotate the screen sideways which is difficult to use. 2. The subtitle timing is _slightly_ off. It advances about a second too fast. There is no adjustment (that I have found) in the app to delay it. Best way to learn a language and the app is great ### 5/5 — LOVE IT *2026-07-24* this is honestly the best language learning app currently. the videos are visual and explain the topics very well. i could understand what they meant and learnt so much!! i reccommend this app to everyone:) the captions do sometimes glitch though which is fine, this app is amazing i VERY reccommend it :))) ### 2/5 — Great content, Completely Broken Subtitles *2026-07-22* Lots of great content at all different levels for learning, but when trying to use this as a supplement to other methods of learning Spanish, it fails pretty badly with the subtitles. Considering the sole purpose of the app is teaching you a language, it’s kind of unacceptable how horrible the subtitles work. Skipping back ten seconds to hear something again? Subtitles gone (even though they still show as being on in the toggle menu. Scrubbed the video back or forward at all? Subtitles now out of sync. Accidentally changed phone orientation? Subtitles shrink then disappear. Watching a video in its entirety without causing touching anything? Subtitles still get out of sync regularly. Please fix this. ### 2/5 — Lazy programming *2026-07-11* As a service, Dreaming Spanish is fantastic and I use it every day on the website. As an app, the lack of support for running correctly on iPad is just lazy programming, especially when Apple provide all the tools to program for both the iPhone and iPad at the same time. This app, running on the iPad, is left to show as a phone app. I spend most of my time on Dreaming Spanish on my iPad but until it’s properly supported by this app, I can only use the website in Safari. ### 5/5 — Duolingo, Memrise, Lingvist Failed, Dreaming Succeeded *2026-06-30* I have been trying to learn Spanish since last 5 years or so and have tried Duolingo, Memrise and even paid for Lingvist. I hoped I will finally learn it but none worked really and I dropped the apps soon. It was tiresome. Dreaming gets this right by avoiding the memorising part and writing part. Just watch videos and learn Spanish. That’s how babies learn. I am using Dreaming for 3 months and my interest grew more and more. Now I cant live a day without watching at least 2-3 videos from DS. Kudos to the team for creating the greatest app for learning languages. Keep adding more languages. ### 5/5 — Best way to learn Spanish *2026-06-30* Initially, I was a a bit skeptical about learning Spanish through this comprehensible method. However, I forgot that as a kid, we never learned the grammar. We accepted the input from our parents, friends, and other sources and understood it through context. 50 hours into the material I can say my Spanish has improved considerably. This is way better than grinding Duolingo for hours without seeing any noticeable difference. The app allows you to set daily goals and shows you your monthly and overall progress. I want to thank Pablo and the entire Dreaming for putting in so much effort into this platform. Once I complete Spanish, I will start with the French course.
