### 2/5 — Poor

*2023-12-04*

The music was good when it was free, paying for relaxing, soothing music monthly/yearly is not desirable

### 1/5 — Spotty function

*2021-12-18, version 3.0*

The timed function doesn’t consistently work and other buttons like play don’t always work.

### 1/5 — Horrible business practice, stay far away

*2021-12-15, version 3.0*

Absolutely unacceptable business practice. Developers sell a pillow that is bundled with music to help people sleep only to lock users out for a monthly fee. They have no free tier, even for existing users. This is false advertising. I’ll be reporting this to the better business bureau and plan on contacting Visa for a chargeback on the pillow. Shame on this company.

### 1/5 — WTH - For Years it’s free, now $30 yr

*2021-12-10, version 3.0*

How is you sell a pillow with an app and after a few years, you decided to charge for the app? I guess, I’ll just find another sound source. Best of luck with your con.

### 1/5 — Not Happy

*2020-10-26, version 1.1.3*

They did away with the Harmonium Continuim soundtrack that everyone loved. It was the only white noise one. Now it’s just classical music. They also cancelled a number of product lines. Not a good sign. Stay away.

### 1/5 — Life changing, labels are too in your face

*2020-04-02, version 1.1.3*

This is a life changing pillow for my daughter. It’s a great product. The App, however, is long overdue for a refresh. It’s clunky. But my biggest issue is the PROMINENT way songs are labeled specifically for people with Autism. Why do we need labels? While many embrace that identity there are parents out there that actively reject it. This could prevent people who could really use it from doing so. People don’t like labels. Your website is a great place to explain how the technology works for groups with specific needs. But I’d leave the detail there. Don’t pigeonhole yourself or risk alienating people who fear or are offended by labels. Just let it be great music. Expanded your target audience to ALL TIRED PEOPLE. Sigh.

### 1/5 — Dumb (read description)

*2019-11-26, version 1.1.3*

They took away a bunch of songs that help me get to sleep and replaced with songs for autistic and IBCCES people. 90% of the world class isn’t autistic. I’m not!!!!!! Majority rules. Dumb app. But good pillow, just use classical music with the app instead!

### 1/5 — No ambient sound clip options anymore!

*2019-11-17, version 1.1.3*

I’ve used my dream pad for 2 years now and loved the Harmonic Continuum sound clip. Now there are only classical based clips for people with autism or sensory disorders. Really hoping this is a bug because this sleep aid is completely worthless to me now. I can’t sleep listening to classical instrumental music and I assume many other people can’t either. Please advise ASAP.

### 4/5 — Help

*2019-11-05, version 1.1.3*

We used to use the is app all the time. We loved it and it was the only thing that helped my kiddo sleep thru the night but recently the update with new music , the song we listened to (it began with an H) is gone and nothing else soothes my kiddo!! Please help and bring that song back!!!

### 1/5 — Poorly designed app

*2019-06-07, version 1.1.2*

Whoever wrote this app needs to go back to design school. Allow me to elaborate:

1: it is nearly impossible to change the volume or slide the music controller with the on-screen controls. The same motion that is used to slide those controls is also used to slide the "menu" open - so 99% of the time you try to slide the controls you end up opening the menu instead. Completely stupid since there is a standard menu button to open the menu as well. There really isn't anything useful in the menu either, which just makes it that much more annoying.

2: the controller that comes with the pillow has a play/pause button that doesn't work with the app. It plays & pauses my Spotify just fine, so it isn't a controller or phone problem- it's the app.

3: while there are a limited number of soothing music selections to fall asleep by, and they do sound good through the pillow, there is no way through the app to get additional selections or to add your own music. The pillow can be used with other apps, but this ability should be built into the app. An enterprising app developer would even include a way to purchase more songs through the app, but this app developer apparently never considered the possibility of an additional revenue stream.

4: The app does have an alarm so you can wake up to "soothing classical music". That's it. Just an on/off toggle for the alarm. You cannot select the music you want to wake up to. You WILL wake up to soothing classical music or you will use another app or device as an alarm clock. I don't know about you, but soothing classical music is what I might listen to to fall asleep - not to wake up.

5: you can, technically, use the pillow with other music - but it sounds horrible. The music in the app truly is designed to work with the pillow, which makes it a shame that there isn't a bigger selection. How about some crickets, tree frogs, a babbling brook, or some other typical fall-asleep-to sounds?

In summary - the pillow is good. The sounds in the app are good - just not enough variety. The UI, however, stinks.

### 3/5 — I’d skip it

*2019-01-29, version 1.1.2*

Husband bought me this. It needs updated and better sounds. Pillow way too soft. IMO. It was a waste of $$$

### 3/5 — Okay for its design, could be massively improved

*2018-01-05, version 1.1.2*

The main benefit of the app is the idea of having the wake up alarm and the going to sleep timer, as well as the few tracks it comes with. If you could upload your own songs into the app. Even if you need to manually do it on your computer the application would be much more useful. Also a bothersome occurrence is if you have a track playing and you end up looking at the music selection screen; if you decide you don’t even want to change your selection and hit the back to reverse out of the menu it will stop your previously selected music and you will have to start playing it again which can be jarring.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2023-08-16, version 3.4*

I purchased the service thru the website but when I log into the app it prompts me to purchase the service again. I am unable to access the service even though I already paid. There’s no feature to restore services to log into the app and listen.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2023-01-31, version 3.4*

I purchased a DreamPad years ago and found it quite helpful. Since I’ve been having trouble getting enough sleep lately, I decided to try out the expanded music section which looks good and purchased a subscription with a $10 trial period to be followed by $29.95 yearly. I canceled in my first day. The simplest actions, like adding a selection to a collection or queue were frustrating, as the needed screen often just flashed briefly and disappeared. I downloaded a number of tracks, only to have them disappear. The app frequently crashed, like 30-40 times, before I gave up. It’s hard to believe the software was tested.

### 1/5 — What am I paying for old one was better

*2022-03-22, version 3.0*

I loved my dream pad. Told everyone to get one. Slept great. Now. This doesn’t stay on. I can’t set it to play more than 8 hours so I get woken up when I goes off. I am an Ssp provider.
I am no longer recommending this to people.
And extremely disappointed in your new version. Too many choices.
Inconsistent. And now I have to pay monthly. I don’t mind a one time charge for an app but monthly fees seem excessive. I will be cancelling. Unless. Something changes soon. I’m trying to give it a chance. It’s also not intuitive. Very hard to figure out. Took me a while to find the 8 hour setting. It needs to be easier to navigate and have continuous play. At this point I’m not during my pillow I’m back to my regular sleeping headphones. And going back to
My other apps for sleeping most nights. It plays continuous. And is not a monthly fee.
I keep hoping I have missed something. At this point I don’t think I have. Very sad because the pillow is great when it works But being woken too early defeats the purpose of the music and pillow

### 1/5 — Don’t use the app just use something else

*2022-01-21, version 3.0*

Honestly it’s always at sucked at least a little the pillow is cool but the app doesn’t work well and now that they’re charging I’d rather use something else with the pillow cause no way am I paying for it.

### 1/5 — From an insomniac: You took away my good night sleep

*2022-01-13, version 3.0*

How dare you. I pay money for a pillow that I’ve been using FOR OVER A DECADE and you have the audacity to charge monthly now for the music. You took away my good nights sleep forever. I’m a college student! I can’t even afford monthly low prices!

-An unhappy insomniac

### 1/5 — Echo of recent reviews

*2022-01-10, version 3.0*

It was shocking and angering to suddenly have the music app required for a fairly expensive product switch to be subscription based when, at purchase, the music was supposedly included. I would have preferred to pay more for the initial product but retain lifetime access to the music library. A tiered model where the basic music remained free, but offered new and improved music on a paid tier would have gone over much better. I might have paid to get better songs, but suddenly losing all access to a product that I have been using has left a bad impression.

### 1/5 — Another disgruntled customer with the new pay app

*2022-01-02, version 3.0*

Been using this pillow for years and never used more than 1 soundtrack. Updated itself recently and now we have to pay! Will never support this company again and had referred many friends and family to it before. Bring back a free version or spiral yourselves out of business.

### 1/5 — New app needs work

*2021-12-29, version 3.0*

Love the dreampad pillow and my family has been using them for 6 years. My children have also benefited from the listening therapy program. New app appears to have several bugs that need to be worked out and is challenging transitioning to. Music won’t play unless connected to the Internet, which is important if your device is on airplane mode (during sleep). None of the options allow the music to play continuously without a timer (nor does the music play continuously for the entire timer duration).

Glitchy overall… even trying to leave this review it has crashed and deleted my review 4 times now.

Please fix the app so it is usable offline continuously through the night. My family relies on this for a good night sleep.

### 1/5 — Horrible Business Practice

*2021-12-27, version 3.0*

I have had this app for a while and used it to play sleep music with the pillow that was very expensive. I stopped using it for a couple months only to find out I was kicked off the app and when I resigned up I have to pay for a monthly subscription to get the music that came with the pillow for free. I have been using the pillow for 2 years, what good is the pillow without the music? There was no reason for me to think or expect I would be paying monthly for a subscription when I got it 2 years ago. They certainly didn’t mention this in their Shark pitch. I am disappointed and feel like the pillow is not worth it anymore. I don’t need another subscription.

### 1/5 — Very frustrated with the new app.

*2021-12-24, version 3.0*

I am very frustrated we own three pillows and I we nt to play music for my child who was having g a tough night the app had changed to a pay service a d I couldn’t get in. UGG!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — An Entire New Sleep

*2022-10-26, version 3.3*

The Dreampad app, in use with a Dreampad, has changed the way I sleep! I’ve tried everything to help fall asleep AND stay asleep, and Dreampad is by far the most successful thing out there for me. I love that you can choose between white noise, nature sounds, or music AND even better being able to use these sounds without distributing my partner who needs total silence to sleep.
Would recommend to anyone!

### 5/5 — Great App for the Price

*2022-10-18, version 3.3*

This app really provides a lot of great music and sounds that works perfectly with my Dreampad pillow. I used to listen to TV to fall asleep to until I switched to Dreampad. My sleep quality has improved tremendously!

### 5/5 — Great for sleep

*2022-10-14, version 3.3*

This app has a great selection of dreamy songs and sounds that really help me fall asleep. The original ambient songs are almost hypnotic and sound especially good through the Dreampad pillows. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Worthwhile Purchase!

*2022-09-09, version 3.2*

Excellent product and app! Love the pillow and accompanying content. I am so surprised by all these negative reviews. It’s funny because they are all saying they love the product - the pillow and the app - but are angry they have to pay. This is less than most yearly subscriptions out there and I would happily pay for a product and content that helps me relax and get to sleep. You can decide to use your own music but I prefer using the app it is wonderfully soothing. Also, excellent customer service! Thanks guys! I will be sharing my experience with others.

### 5/5 — I love this app 💚

*2022-04-20, version 3.1*

This app and pillow helps my daughter sleep better she’s sleeping much better then

### 5/5 — LOVE this app, but it’s Time for Additional Music choices

*2021-07-31, version 1.1.3*

I’ve had this pillow and app for close to 2 years now. I love it. Even when not hooked up to the pillow, the music is soooo soothing. It makes sleep easier. I do *not* want them to get rid of any of the songs, but I think it would be great to have a few new songs to choose.

### 5/5 — Easy Dreams

*2016-11-21, version 1.0.1*

This is just my opinion, but I love this app! I personally don't have the pillow part, but the music still calms me. I discovered this on YouTube one night, and I am now obsessed. Thank you DreamPad!!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2015-07-11, version 1.0.1*

Haven't slept so well in a long time!

### 5/5 — Works great for me

*2014-07-18, version 1.0.1*

Drowns out city noise and is quite pleasant.

### 4/5 — Why are you charging NOW for the app?

*2022-01-17, version 3.0*

I’ve supported your company and bought the products since you were on shark tank.
the app has always been free.
Now a monthly fee?!
Please make a basic free app no commercials.
The pillow is very comfortable. Charging for the app is my only complaint
