## What is DreamSpace Academy?

DreamSpace Academy is the companion app for parents, trainers, and coordinators at DreamSpace makerspace hubs across Sri Lanka. Built first for families — so you can follow, celebrate, and shape your child's learning.

• See the classwork and projects they're working on, and the homework set for each session.
• NEW — Rate your child's sessions with a star and a note, so the hub knows how each class went.
• NEW — When a course finishes, share your feedback on the whole course, right from your home screen.
• Respond to special session invitations for your child in a single tap.
• View the certificates they've earned.
• Sign in simply with your phone number — no password to remember.

FOR TRAINERS & STAFF
• Mark session attendance in seconds — even with no internet. It syncs automatically when you're back online.
• See today's sessions, your timetable, and upcoming classes at a glance.
• Record classwork and learning outcomes for every session.
• Build student portfolios that showcase real project work.
• Review parents' session and course feedback (where your role allows).
• Get notified about session changes, cover requests, and announcements.

BUILT FOR PRIVACY
Students are identified only by an anonymous DreamSpace ID throughout the app — no student photos and no names in day-to-day screens. Privacy by design for the children we serve, in line with Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act.

DreamSpace Academy is a social enterprise running community makerspaces that give underserved Sri Lankan youth hands-on skills in technology, engineering, and creativity. This app connects our hub teams and families to the learning happening every day.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-08-10

Session feedback has its own place
Telling the hub how a session went used to be tucked inside Attendance, where it was easy to miss. It is now its own card on the home screen: every session your child attended, newest first, with whatever you said last time shown against each one.

Calendar days open properly
Tapping a day in the timetable calendar now opens that day's sessions in a panel over the calendar, instead of adding a list further down the page that many people never noticed.

Attendance at a glance
Attendance has a new calendar view. Every day carries the colour of its mark — present, late, absent or excused — so you can see the shape of a whole term without scrolling through a list.

Sharing that actually shares
Sharing a project now opens the normal iOS share sheet, so it goes straight to WhatsApp, Messages or Mail. Before, it quietly copied a link with no sign that anything had happened.

Certificates you can find again
Saving a certificate now puts it somewhere you can reach: open the Files app and look under On My iPhone → DreamSpace Academy. Certificates can also be earned per course and issued from attendance.

For trainers
The home screen now shows your hub instead of your role, and lists today's sessions rather than the whole week — so the day you are actually working is the first thing you see. Accounts with more than one role no longer show the wrong one.

One phone at a time
Your account now signs in on one phone at a time. Signing in on a new phone signs the previous one out, and that phone returns to the sign-in screen with an explanation. The web app is unchanged — you can still use it on as many computers and browsers as you like.

• Rate your child's sessions with a quick star rating and an optional note — it goes straight to the hub.
• When a course wraps up, you'll get a gentle prompt right on your home screen to rate the whole course.

Special session invitations
• Invited to a special session? Accept or decline for your child in a single tap — now instant, no waiting.
• Special sessions are clearly marked with a star wherever they appear.

• A cleaner, more consistent look across the app.
• Tidier notifications and home screen.
• Fixes and performance improvements — including one that stopped some feedback from sending.

We've made DreamSpace Academy faster and easier to use.

• Sessions, tidier — In Attendance and Class work, tap a session to open its own focused page. Upcoming sessions appear as clear cards and past sessions in a simple table, so the class you need is quicker to find.

• Timetable improvements — Session slots are easier to read in both light and dark mode, and moving a session now updates instantly.

• Smoother everywhere — A single, clean message when your connection drops instead of repeated pop-ups, and the back button now behaves the way you'd expect.

• Sharing fixes — Portfolio and event links you share now open the right page every time.
