It’s competitive but not to the point where it feels like an obligation to keep up, which is what I really appreciate. The rendering and overall look is pretty realistic, and there is a decent variety of models to choose from each challenge. My main complaint - Makeup options! There are some cool limited looks, and the general options are decent. I just think there should be more basic eyeliner options and more colorful shades of eyeshadow. The colors are usually too bright without much shading, making the models eyes look washed-out or really small. Another is that we are unable to choose different hairstyle while wearing a hair accessory. Thanks, Team DREST ### 4/5 — addicting game *2023-03-23* i absolutely cannot stop playing this game!!! i love how all the items are real pieces that can even be bought in real life through the game. the only reason i didn’t give it five stars is because the game starts you off with a ton of money, but it’s really hard to earn enough back through challenges and rewards to be able to get exactly what you want, and some pieces are super expensive (i assume to emulate the real price of the piece). when i run out of money i usually just delete and redownload the game and i have all of the money again, but i have less choices in reference to hair, makeup, and location due to level requirements, but overall it’s not too much of a hassle. some of the challenges can be boring or repetitive, but most of them are super fun, especially the runway ones, or ones that take inspiration from celebrities and tv shows or movies. overall i LOVE this game!!! **Developer response:** Hello and thank you for sharing your feedback with us; we're thrilled to hear you enjoy playing DREST! Thanks, Team DREST ### 4/5 — Great Fashion Unfair Judging AND you will $$$$$ *2022-12-21, version 1.75.1* I’ve been playing for over a year and never got featured as “Look of the Day” even when I get a perfect score. It seems that the only players who get featured bought the most expensive clothes AND expensive makeup and backgrounds (which cost real money). So once again another fashion game that favors the rich. I still like the realistic models and clothes so I’ll still play but I won’t be pressured into paying those high prices. ### 4/5 — Support Team Needs Work! *2022-10-15, version 1.75.1* I seriously loved this game until I realized that the “Help Team” is actually not great. I came to them with a problem about my phone vibrating anytime I voted or submitted a look, they were asking the most absurd questions and if I could include photos I would attach the screenshots. The first question they asked is if I could include a screenshot of my phone vibrating, and if the vibration happens in any other apps or not, which clearly if that were happening I would go to T-mobile, not the Drest help team. Any response was expected between 1-2 business days, even after coming to the same chat with another completely different issue— after a few frustrating days I left this review (edited) and the creators took over and helped to resolve my issue. I’m grateful they figured it all out, but it is unfortunate that I had to leave a hefty review to accomplish that. Seems like a glitch and it happened before and was fixed. But it’s happened again and kind of annoying. Also, a suggestion: when we go through our already owned clothes, the unworn things should be the first we see. Just makes things easier. Thanks! ### 4/5 — Pretty good but has some quirks *2022-07-17, version 1.69* I’ve been playing this for a few weeks now and overall, am definitely enjoying it. Been experiencing a few issues though: 1. On a regular basis, when I go to submit one of the moodboard challenges, it gives me an error. Sometimes I have to close and reopen the app, add the items that got deleted and try submitting again a COUPLE times. That’s super annoying. 2. I’ve encountered a couple challenges that have requirements but when you hit the search button for requirements, no results are given. This happened on the recent beach wear one where there were no results for the req “beach accessory” so I couldn’t do the challenge. 3. Are the some geographic areas that get items or styles that others don’t? When rating, I’ve seen several hairstyles or backgrounds that I don’t show as even a future earned option. What’s up with that? Is it beta testers that are getting those and if so, can I be a tester? I especially love the graphics and how the fashion pieces are real life designer items. I love that there are no ads and it’s so relaxing. Perfect creative outlet. (: 5 stars in every aspect EXCEPT the rating function. I wish they had developers or designers help rate users’ looks because it feels like the players don’t actually look at the outfits and just rate them low. Almost every single outfit, no matter how immaculate, has a 3 star or less rating. This makes me sad!! Some players are putting a lot of effort into their looks!! ### 4/5 — Great game but… *2022-06-14, version 1.66* Great game, I play it every single day. However there was recently a change in the productivity measurement when using previously purchased outfits result in a lower score. I also just found on accident tonight that users now how the ability to reuse pieces they’ve already purchased to complete challenges. However Drest didn’t send out an inbox notification that it was possible to now reuse purchased items. 1. I think it’s petty to lower productivity scores when a player uses owned items because for Drest it’s basically a loop hole to force people into spending money to get a higher productivity score. 2. I think that’s people shady to not notify players via inbox that they can reuse owned items. Being that people like myself were under the impression that we still needed to spend money on Diamonds to repurchase pieces when it’s not even necessary! Mostly I would love more organization in the wardrobe and search section to make it easier to find more specific pieces. Also wish the hats weren’t limited to just the default hairstyles, I think it would be great to have access to more hair+hat combos. Other than those few changes I think the game is great ### 4/5 — Great game but needs work!! *2022-04-11, version 1.62* I’ve been playing this game for about a week now and I love it!! It’s probably the best dress up game app that I’ve found so far, but it definitely needs to be updated a little bit. I find it difficult to go through my owned items and find what I’m looking for, if there was a way it was more organized or an option to select the category I want (like shoes or dresses) of my owned items like I can do while shopping, I would love it even more! But every time I go to my owned items everything is all in one place and there’s no selection to sort it out into categories which is irritating a little bit. However, there is something that is keeping me from “ sweeping” left to right. Also it is taking quite some time to change from one dress to maybe another dress. I hope i am explaining it correctly. This only happens on this particular game. I thought it was my new ipad, but its not. Can anyone help me please. Other than that, this is my new favorite game. I would give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 if it werent for the problem with the app. Great game! ### 4/5 — The best fashion game there is, but I have one suggestion… *2022-03-11, version 1.60* Ok, so I have played many of the fashion games on the App Store and this is by far the best one. The clothing options are amazing and realistic and you don’t really have to spend actual money to be successful but can if you want to elevate your options a little. I look forward to playing it every day! My one frustration is that you can’t sort the items you own into “worn” and “unworn” categories. So if you want to find an unworn item to use, you have to scroll through all of the clothing that you own, which is a huge hassle if you have been playing for a while and have acquired a decent number of items. If the developers could make it so you could sort this, it would be a perfect game!! Otherwise, it is completely worth a download and you will probably be hooked if you like fashion games. Thanks, Team DREST ### 3/5 — Fun but needs improvement *2022-01-09, version 1.55* This game is my favorite fashion game except for the fact that it is so hard to scroll through the options when you are buying and through the stuff that is already owned. I think mainly you need to be able to view more things at once less zoomed in. It would also be nice to be able to try on more than one thing at a time that is not purchased so you can really decide if the items that you want work together. ### 3/5 — Updates *2021-12-07, version 1.53* I played this game a long time ago and it was so glitchy I deleted it. I added it back on and overall the experience was much better, and for a time they really improved - easier to collect the photo hours and dollars etc, and they had limited edition locations and makeup that you could use without purchasing. I really enjoyed those extra features but they have since reverted to having to purchase them for the diamond thingies (and have some stuff if you get a particular score or higher)..so far I think the only way to get more of those is to pay money for them and that’s irritating, it would be better if at least they could be earned or added as a daily reward or something like that. After about a month of continuously using it though, the app just stopped working. When I opened it it would take me to the loading screen, I would press accept and continue, and then the app would quit. I’ve tried everything (updating my phone, the app, deleting and re-installing the app, etc.) but I cant get it to work. A lot of technology issues I think, but overall a great game- if you actually manage to get the app open. ### 1/5 — Purchasing is a trouble now! *2022-03-17, version 1.60* I really loved this game until the latest update! The first problem is that the game is now very slow and it lags and I should reopen it multiple times to play some challenges. The second problem is that purchasing for almost everything with diamonds is totally unfair!!! I purchased some stuff before, but from now on purchasing for everything, even the previous unlimited stuff, is totally useless and I won’t play the game anymore. Most of the games offer garments with dollars which are gained during the game and there are some extra in-app purchasing, but for this game we should purchase everything! ### 1/5 — Save your time and money *2021-09-06, version 1.44* This app used to be awesome - for every challenge you would be paid 2,500 or 1,000 Drest dollars, which made up way more of the money you spent on the outfit. The addition of the diamonds seems like a way to get people to pay for the app because you can’t reuse anything unless you pay for it with your real $$$. I frequently have to reach out to customer service about glitches and half the time they never get fixed before I have to submit my look…then I waste my Drest dollars! I really liked this game cause I found it comforting and fun. I love fashion and I think it’s the best concept for a fashion game out there. At this point, I’m 👌🏼 close to deleting my account because it feels like I’m wasting time and money. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — There are issues that detract from enjoying this game. *2020-04-15, version 1.10.1* When this game first came out, I was one of its biggest cheerleaders. I promoted it among my fashion gaming friends frequently. Sure, there were issues during soft launch, but what app doesn’t have initial bugs? The developers have sent surveys asking what would make the game better. Crashing, game lag, and lack of categorical organization were the biggest issues that I’ve yet to see addressed, and we’re nearly half a year into the game. Another big issue that I have is with community scoring. How is it that nearly every look I style only gets between 3.0 and 3.3 stars? Something about that is off, as it would be impossible for the community to hate EVERY SINGLE LOOK EVERY TIME. I frequently see the same players in Looks of the Day, and similar looks get scored significantly lower. What’s up with that? Edit: changed my rating from 2 stars to 1. After getting yet another week of 3.3 to 3.7, I’ve decided I’m done with this game. Following the theme and creating strong looks just to get scored "getting there". No, I’m not getting there. Your scoring system is whack. Done wasting time for low scores for every single look. I would strongly advise against anyone thinking of downloading this game. Thanks, Team DREST ### 1/5 — I Really Wanted to Enjoy This Game *2019-11-18, version 1.0.9* Don't waste your time on this poorly planned game. The interface is beautiful and the clothes are great, but the disorganization of the game construction makes it unplayable. Once an item is purchased you can wear it again, but there is no simple way to find it. You must remember the keywords you used to search for the item whenever you'd bought it. The requirements for each challenge are done as a list of key terms you can search, but not all of the items returned in that search qualify. There is a numeral at the top to signify if you have met the requirements (ex. 0/1 will change to 1/1 if you meet a single requirement); however that number will sometimes change even if that item does not fill the requirement. So you'll spend your in game dollars on something that cannot be submitted; not to mention that you planned the entire outfit around that piece, and now have to purchase a whole new ensemble. The game support emailed me back promptly, but would not acknowledge that this is whack and told me to have fun. I am not having fun. Our very best, Team DREST ### 3/5 — Is there really no way to filter items?? *2022-12-31, version 1.75.1* I would love to play this game more but unfortunately I don’t have two hours per challenge to scroll through literally every item because you can’t filter by color, material, etc. The search function *sometimes* isolates what you’re looking for but usually not - for instance, if I’m looking for turquoise jewelry, the search returns ALL items that are turquoise in color. For such a beautifully rendered game, this is incredibly inefficient. ### 3/5 — Loved this game but… *2022-03-24, version 1.61* I first started using Drest a few months ago it took me a little bit understand how to play but I ended up loving it. The clothes are all real and in season from luxury designers so it feels you’re actually able to experience real couture looks. However the newest update made it basically so that you have to spend real world money to get certain things that used to be included unlimited in the game. The unlimited make up looks are now gone, and now you have to pay to buy new ones. Same with the unlimited backgrounds. Now you would have to buy the things like certain lip colors, eye shadows and backgrounds that were free. There’s no way to purchase them with in game money- I would have to actually use real money to buy them which is just unfair. I use this game as an escape to experience amazing fashion I could never afford in real life. Part of the appeal is that I’m not spending my own money- it makes me no longer want to play. Overall, love the diverse models, clothing styles and the escapism but certain choices from the developers are making it hard for me to able to keep playing. **Developer response:** Hi amk881! Thanks, Team DREST ### 3/5 — Updates Causing Glitches *2022-03-19, version 1.60* I have downloaded and played Drest for over a year now. I greatly enjoy styling and creating with fashion. The activity seems to satisfy creative urges. However, the game was recently updated sometime in March of 2022 and the functionality of the game, especially with Mood Board design, has been significantly degraded. The performance of Drest has declined considerably. I am disappointed to state here that I may just uninstall and never return as something has changed to make the user experience dreadful. ### 3/5 — Used to be better *2022-03-19, version 1.60* When I started playing this game it was pretty fun. The longer I play, the worse game mechanics are getting. They are taking more things away from players forcing them to spend money to get what used to be free. For example, certain backgrounds were able to be used an infinite amount of times. Now they can be used 5 times until you unlock more uses. Also, I’m finding it is going so sloooow! Sometimes it doesn’t respond at all to finger taps. I hope that they can fix that and maybe dial back the greed and allow people to actually enjoy the game and let them make purchases on extra things they decide they want, not need. ### 3/5 — Good idea but… *2022-03-10, version 1.60* I really like the setup and gameplay of Drest, however the app is so slow. I constantly have to click on things multiple times for it to finally register, and once it does it takes forever to load. It also glitches out and reloads some parts of the screen while you’re playing. Also, I feel like it should kick me out of designing if the challenge is no longer available, I just had to spend all the money on an outfit just to submit it and it tells me the challenge is no longer available. I will start by saying I absolutely love this app and can’t believe that there was a time when I was unaware if its existence!! Although I enjoy most of the app’s features, I think it would be greatly beneficial to users if we were able to try on as many unworn pieces as possible. I brought this up because I have found it extremely disappointing when I purchase expensive pieces that end not looking as Good together as I’d expected them to; in addition to not having the option to return unused pieces. ### 5/5 — Scoring and Game Play *2022-01-17, version 1.56* Hi developers, Can there be an animation that shows that my dollars and points have increased after a challenge or the daily reward? The maximum photo shoot credits in 250 but I can only earn get 5 credits at a time rating photos. It takes away the incentive to rate more than one photo. I love fashion and this is an amazingly fun way to learn more about the industry. I am able to identify which clothing styles align with certain brands. There is always new inventory!! I do have two requests to make the game even BETTER: One- in the last tab ( the three lines descending in size up to down) I wish there were an option to sort by color. Two- I would love to also see men challenges. Maybe include menswear and male models. Holy moly that would be sooo AWESOME!! I LOVE THIS GAME!!! ### 5/5 — Genuinely amazing *2021-04-20, version 1.36* I don’t normally write reviews but I had to give props to this game! The amount of time and effort that goes into it is very clear! It is fun and it actually keeps me updated on current fashion trends which is really cool! Also the representation and diversity is so wonderful to see especially when other fashion games really lack this! Keeps me up to date with the latest fashions and trends. Only thing is I feel like I spend a lot of money on here. So I had to cut back how much I’m on here. Wish there were times when you could get free diamonds to reuse items already worn or the items we already used could be used 5 more times before we have to buy more diamonds if we don’t have them. (EDITED) *2020-11-21, version 1.26.2* I seriously love this game, i usually do all 4 four challenges every single day and the first thing I do when I wake up is check to see what the new challenges are! I had this game for about a month & I didn’t see any tech issues. Yesterday my Home Page completely froze and I haven’t been about to fix it. All the other pages seem to be working fine. I am super sad because I can’t enter any new challenges because the home page isn’t working. I have tried deleting & reinstalling the app and even updating my phone. Nothing seems to work. I contacted customer support and hopefully it gets fixed soon because I LOVE this game 😭 UPDATE: I previously gave this app 3 stars because of the tech issue with the Home Screen. I was not expecting it to be fixed so fast. A couple days after messaging the developers they reached back out to me and told me it was resolved. I can’t believe how responsive and quick they are.
