## What is Driio?

Driio puts your servers in the Files app. SMB shares, SFTP servers, NAS drives, WebDAV, Amazon S3, NFS, Dropbox and OneDrive appear next to iCloud Drive, and every app on your iPhone and iPad can open, save and share files on them.

ONE JOB, DONE PROPERLY
Driio doesn't scan PDFs, edit photos or play video. It connects your storage to the Files app you already use, so every app's open and save screens reach your NAS and servers without another app in the way.

### 2.7 — 2026-09-17

• NFSv4 connections. Pick NFSv3 or NFSv4 in the connection settings; NFSv4 needs only port 2049, so it works through firewalls without the portmapper.
• Files removed on the server in large batches could stay visible in the Files app for good. Fixed, and any leftovers already on your device clear on first launch.
• Ready for iOS 27.

### 2.6.1 — 2026-08-31

iOS (iPhone & iPad):
  • Copying a file into Driio in the Files app now shows live upload progress, instead of "Waiting…" until the upload finished.
  • Fixed adding your first connection on a fresh install.
  
  macOS:
  • The menu bar now lists only the connections enabled on this Mac.
  • The Dashboard shows disabled connections as Disabled instead of Idle.
  • Upload progress now appears the moment a transfer starts.

### 2.6 — 2026-08-29

Version 2.6 focuses on performance, disk use, and reliability.

DISK SPACE
Driio now cleans up temporary working files after transfers more effectively,
reclaiming space automatically as it goes.

LOWER ENERGY USE
Significantly reduced CPU and battery use when no Driio window is open.

FASTER ON LARGE CONNECTIONS
Uploads to large connections now run at full speed, and removing large folders is
dramatically faster.

IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES
• Improved reliability for large file transfers on iPhone and iPad
• Better handling of folders that link back to themselves
• More reliable resume behavior for interrupted uploads
• Transfers now retry correctly after a temporary server error
• Improved handling of items the server declines to delete
• Upload progress is now shown when replacing an existing file, and can be stopped part-way
• File badges, Office lock indicators, and server-side changes stay current during large copies
• Connection warnings clear automatically once the server is reachable again
• More accurate storage reporting for large connections
• Tuned Dropbox upload concurrency for better throughput
• Improved cleanup of interrupted OneDrive uploads
• Connection setting changes now take effect immediately
• Better detection of server-side changes made moments after a local edit
• Clearer messaging on iPhone and iPad when a connection needs its password re-entered
• More thorough cleanup when a connection is removed

Performance
• File lookups are now instant, even on connections with hundreds of thousands of files.
• Folders you haven't opened in a while are no longer checked repeatedly in the background, which saves battery and server traffic.

Bug fixes
• Files with a slash in the name now open and save correctly on every server type. Existing connections correct themselves as you browse, with no re-scan or re-download.
• A folder the server lists but can't open is set aside instead of being retried over and over, and comes back on its own once the server recovers.
• Fixed "the file names may be out of date" errors after resetting a connection.
• A rejected upload no longer leaves numbered copies behind.
