## What is Drikus Demo Deck?

Drikus Demo Deck — four tracks, as fast as Voice Memos.

For the moment a song shows up and you need it on tape before it leaves again. Record onto four tracks, overdub without losing the take, and find the song again later — even if all you remember is one line from the lyrics.

Built for actual songwriting, not just voice notes
- Four tracks with arm, volume, pan, mute, solo, and live meters
- Per-track three-band EQ, saved with the session
- Multiple clips per track, gap-accurate — silence stays silence
- Precise overdub timing, compensated for your headphones' real latency, with a manual nudge for stubborn gear
- Bounce all four tracks down to one, undoable until your next bounce
- Export to M4A or WAV and share anywhere
- Import audio from Files, or share a Voice Memo straight in
- Pick separate microphone and output devices per session

Find the song, not just the file
Forty sessions in, "Aug 26 · Marigold" tells you nothing. Search the shelf by a word from the title, your notes, or anything the phone heard on a take you asked it to listen to. On-device transcription (iOS 26+) means nothing ever leaves your phone — it's there to help you find the song, not to write down the lyrics.

Nothing leaves your phone. No accounts, no uploads, no cloud. Your takes stay yours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-28

Double a take, the way Abbey Road did it in 1966: tap a take, press Double, and listen to it with and without a second you before it goes down.

- Loop the whole song or a range you mark on the ruler
- Play a song straight from the shelf by tapping its cassette
- The play and record keys have moved to the bottom, where your thumb is
- Lock a track against edits, and pick from more colours or mix your own to easily recognise every track
- Deleted songs wait 30 days in Recently Deleted
- Share a whole song, every take included, as one file
- A call, an alarm or the app closing mid-take no longer loses the take

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-26

The deck has been reworked to be clearer and easier to hit. Arm, mute and solo are bigger keys, red now only means recording or delete, and play, undo and redo are clearer about what they do.

- New Record button on the shelf that starts a demo straight away
- Lights and deck sounds now live in Settings, behind the cog on the shelf
- Count-in can be turned on without the metronome
- "Just now" instead of "in 0 seconds", and the playhead can no longer be wound far past the end of the song

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-07

Dark mode, properly. A new Lights setting — in About, and in each song's menu — follows your phone, stays in daylight, or stays in late night. Every colour has a night version, so nothing goes missing when the lights go off: the cassette reels, the labels on the record and play keys, the ARMED label. And the app opens onto the right shade of paper instead of a white flash.

Drikus Demo Deck also has its name written out in a proper hand now, on the splash screen and on the shelf.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-04

The deck feels more like a deck. Waveforms now draw as you record instead of showing up after you stop, the transport clunks and buzzes under your thumb like real cassette keys, and you can replay a take from the end to hear how it landed.

Also in this one:
- All six clips fit on screen in a 3x2 grid
- The armed track is unmistakable now — red dot before you tap, bold strip after
- A copy button on transcripts
- Shake-to-undo buzzes so you know it caught
- A tip jar in About, if you're so inclined

### 1.0.0 — 2026-08-30

No release notes.
