### 4/5 — Stopped working, please fix!

*2024-02-12*

I’ve been using this app for several years, but it stopped working, please fix it.

### 4/5 — Stopped Working, please update!

*2023-03-20*

Love the app, please update!

### 5/5 — More than just a drill chart

*2013-12-17*

Very helpful app for calculating my drill sizes for tapping in different materials. Let's me use a large percent thread depth for plastics and a lower percentage for steel etc.

### 5/5 — Needs a white selector wheel

*2013-11-04*

Update is nice BUT the black/grey on grey selector wheel is really hard to read and out of place with the rest of the color scheme. Please change to a white background wheel, then it gets 5 stars.
Update: Developer responded to my request very quickly - now the selector wheel is legible! - excellent app now.

### 5/5 — Simple complete fast accurate

*2013-10-29*

If you are a "maker" you will find this app has everything you want to know before you cut threads.

### 5/5 — Great Application

*2013-09-06*

I usually don't write any reviews but this application deserves one. It is very useful for my type of work, very simple to use and complete. Customer service is also great. They responded to my request in less than 24 hours. I surely will buy more applications from this developer.

### 5/5 — Very good app

*2013-06-27, version 3.0.0*

This app is very useful for people in the trade and a great replacement for other charts, support is amazing I had one problem (this wasn't a problem in the end) that was explained to me within hours, great stuff a engineers must have.

### 5/5 — Very Useful!

*2013-01-09*

Very handy to use along with a caliper. I have found it especially useful for finding the correct drill to use when I want the entire screw to fit cleanly through the hole. The ability to set thread depth is also great! Also great for correlating English and Metric sizes.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-11-20, version 2.0.1*

This is one handy app for the busy machinist I highly recommend it

### 3/5 — No BSP

*2012-10-19, version 2.0.1*

This looks great although it is missing the worlds most popular pipe thread BSP. That was the reason I wanted the app in the first place. It would be great if you could add it. Can't wait for update. !

### 5/5 — Really good app. But Npt???

*2012-08-18, version 2.0.1*

👍

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-06-24*

I have been looking for an app like this for a while and here it is. I hate looking up a drill size and all I can find is a letter to reference the size. This app has cured that for me.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Drill tap tool

*2023-10-24, version 4.0*

This app does not work would not recommend

### 1/5 — Needs up dating

*2023-05-14*

Was a great tool.
Have iPhone 14 pro max, can’t use the app anymore.
So sad!!!

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2018-06-13*

It doesn’t cover all thread drill sizes like it claimed to. Would never recommend this ap

### 1/5 — Poor design

*2011-06-23, version 2.0.1*

Drill tap chart does not actually tell you what size drill to use, you have to rotate the wheel and decide what percentage of thread depth you want. If I knew that I wouldn't need the chart.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2025-03-12, version 4.0*

You should advise the sizes of the threads covered.
First time I used app found it did not cover the tapping size I was after 1 1/8” unf
Maximum size covered is 1” unf

### 2/5 — Clearance hole

*2021-12-02*

It doesn’t appear to have clearance hole dimensions.

**Developer response:** Hi there, to find clearance hole dimensions, scroll the Depth of thread wheel down passed 0%, into the negative. You can choose your clearance accurately between 0% and -20%.

### 2/5 — Not complete...

*2012-09-17, version 2.0.1*

Yeah it's a good app and easy to use .. But in my view it's not complete without having your pipe threads included...

### 2/5 — Kurac

*2011-05-04, version 2.0*

What is a default for % is it 0 or 65%

### 3/5 — Great app won’t open

*2023-12-09*

App is great but will not open on any devices. PLEASE FIX

### 3/5 — Needs better thru hole options

*2016-09-09, version 3.3.0*

Thru hole selection is done by changing depth of threads to zero percent. Doesn't give thru-hole with NPT threads - the only reason I bought this!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very useful tool

*2025-08-09, version 4.0*

Used frequently & is easy to use

### 5/5 — Best drill and tap app!!!

*2025-03-05*

I’m a machinist and industrial mechanic and use this app on a daily basis, it’s so great to have all this info with me in my pocket at all times! Highly recommend this app!!!

### 5/5 — Good app, but will not start up

*2023-09-16*

### 5/5 — Handy app

*2023-02-05*

I use this app all the time, but all of a sudden it stopped working

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2019-06-28*

Awesome app would love to see clearance hole drill bits.

**Developer response:** Hi there, clearance drill bits can be found by scrolling the 'Depth of thread' wheel down passed 0%, into the negative. You can choose your clearance accurately between 0% and -20%, and find the nearest available drill bit to achieve that.

### 5/5 — Indispensable App

*2018-02-17, version 4.0*

I’ve been using this app pretty much since it came out and consult it regularly at work. Though I’ve been in the trade long enough to remember most tapping sizes by now, I often use it to identify threads, particularly larger metric threads. It now covers Metric, UNF/UNC and both British and American pipe threads. That covers most threads you’re likely to find these days. Though I did some repairs on a 40 year old fork truck recently, which had some BSF/BSW threads, so for completeness that would be a useful addition. But for most people, this is all you need.

### 5/5 — Best tap drill app

*2017-07-11*

I use this app daily when setting up new jobs and converting older jobs from cut tap to form tap sizes. Often multiple times per job and per day.

Having tried many machinists related apps, I find the information in this one very well presented and accurate. The ability to adjust tap hole size for difficult materials or deep threads and know what percentage of thread engagement should be created if the tools cut properly is very nice. Easy to play "what if."

Tap charts usually give drill sizes based on 65 or 75 percent engagement. When a form tap doesn't meet minor diameter requirements, using this app can help quickly determine if a smaller drill will be risky by showing what percentage thread the new hole size should generate.

Sometimes drills don't drill to size for various reasons, tools wear, and materials can be difficult. When troubleshooting I find myself pulling up this app to verify drill size and then check the drill being used and resulting hole diameter.

From a long time user of this app,
It's easy, accurate, and far more useful than a simple tap chart.
Thank you for a wonderful tool and please keep it future proof.

### 5/5 — Hobbyist

*2014-04-02, version 3.3.0*

Simple to use for an hobbyist like me. Forget printed charts etc. this is all I will ever need and a lot more! It makes it very easy to find suitable drill size! Use it all the time and very happy with it.

### 5/5 — Tool maker

*2014-01-08*

Exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2013-12-29, version 3.3.0*

I would like to see the British Association "BA" tap / drill sizes added.
