## What is Drill String Weight Calc?

Need to know your hook load before picking up off bottom? Drill String Weight Calc gives you total string weight, buoyed weight, and hook load with and without WOB — so you can verify rig capacity and plan your BHA.

Enter drill pipe size and length, HWDP length and weight, drill collar size and length, mud weight, block weight, and target WOB. Get complete string weight analysis in air and in mud.

STRING WEIGHT (AIR):
- Drill pipe weight from built-in size/weight table
- Heavy weight drill pipe (HWDP) contribution
- Drill collar weight from collar OD selection
- Total string weight in air

BUOYED WEIGHT:
- Buoyancy factor from mud weight (ppg)
- Total buoyed string weight in mud
- Individual component buoyed weights

HOOK LOAD:
- Hook load without WOB (string + block + equipment)
- Hook load with WOB applied
- Block and traveling equipment weight included

WOB ANALYSIS:
- Target WOB vs available drill collar weight
- Pass/fail check: are collars heavy enough for your WOB?
- Prevents running drill pipe in compression
