## What is Drillaby?

Drillaby is a speech therapy game designed to give kids lots of opportunities to practice the sounds they are working on in therapy while playing a motivating game. The object of the game is to get Drillaby through four different areas on an island and then home! The child must produce sounds correctly in order to get Drillaby on a boat and off the island. 
 
Drillaby was designed by certified speech-language pathologists. This articulation game includes a choice of six sound groups, 3 word positions and 3 levels of difficulty. 

A great benefit of Drillaby is that it is a fun way to do homework between therapy sessions. The child's therapist will recommend what sound and what difficulty level the child should work on. Parents can email the record of their child's practice sessions to their therapist.

All sound groups can be presented in US, UK or AUS accents.

The description says that the app comes with a choice of 6 sound groups. It does NOT tell you that for the purchase price of $5.99 you must pick only ONE sound group (k/g, t/p, v/f, sh/ch, l, s, OR s blends) and that if you want any of the other options, it is an in app purchase of another $5.99 per group! This is outrageously priced for what you get. As an SLP who has to pay for all materials out of pocket, this purchase is the LEAST worth the price out of any app i have purchased in the past 4 years!!

This app warranted my first review, mostly because I have no idea what game the other reviewers played. The graphics are basic, the "game," which consists of labeling flashcards, has far too much wasted time, and the price is for ONE sound pair. Additional sounds are... An additional cost. For the money and the time, there are FAR better games out there. Crazy.  I'm glad I didn't bother with the pro version!

Drillaby is a truly fun and engaging app! Kids love navigating the adventurous graphics--it makes speech practice fun so that you don't even realize that you're actually practicing speech techniques! Awesome!
