### 3/5 — Weird math and shameful tactics

*2026-05-28, version 5.9*

The math is really weird and I don’t quite understand how I’m saving or not saving money in the middle of the week. Also, the tone of the prompts/tips/whatever are quite full of shame! I am not trying to go fully sober, just trying to cut back a little, and having one drink on a Friday night (for me) does not mean “losing control.” It makes me not want to fill out the prompts or use the app, honestly. Some more neutral language would be better.
The UI and the fact that it is free is nice.

### 2/5 — Started well…

*2024-05-07, version 5.9*

Started to use the app, log urges and non-drinking days but then after 2 days the app kept bombing me out every time I went to save a new urge or log an old one. Unable to find any assistance within the app or means to report an issue. Real shame - refund please.

### 3/5 — Couldn’t Navigate

*2023-09-26, version 5.8*

I have an iPhone14Pro that is in excellent condition. This app has navigation arrows at the very top of the screen and my phone just doesn’t do upper left or right corners so I had to delete the app. It was so frustrating, it almost drove me to drink. I decided to find an app less frustrating to navigate instead

### 4/5 — Generally happy

*2023-06-08, version 5.8*

I was very happy with the app and find it easy to use and track everything on. Only thing bad that has happened is all my April data has suddenly disappeared and I don’t know how to get it back unfortunately. Not ideal as I don’t know the daily data just the April total but don’t even know how I would renter that?

### 3/5 — Whole drinks only

*2023-01-20, version 5.2*

I would love an update that allows for a drink that has 1.5 shots of liquor, currently only whole numbers are allowed. Otherwise great app, love the anonymity.

### 2/5 — Seriously??

*2023-01-17, version 5.2*

Hey great answer all these questions and roughly you are saving this amount of money not drinking so we are going to charge you that much to use our app!! joke

### 3/5 — Good accountability tool

*2023-01-04, version 5.1*

Good for accountability and and courses that help you to understand the negatives of drinking, those courses had major impact on my motivation to stay sober. The chat rooms were comber some and sometimes hard to follow if there are multiple conversations at once. The application constantly freezes which is highly annoying. Overall good accountability app. For the $10 per month.

### 2/5 — Pay to use

*2022-03-27*

Really expensive and you don’t know it’s a pay to use app till you get past the one hundred questions they hit you with. If it was $10 NZD a month then maybe I would try it.

### 3/5 — Bad interface

*2022-03-10, version 4.6*

The premise and resources are excellent

The tracking is awful. I’d go from 5 days with 0 drinks to 1 day after adding …. 0 drinks. If you don’t log a day it resets and if you put in the missing day the streak just gets jacked up. So nothing to look forward to as the days tick up.

### 2/5 — Could be so much better

*2022-01-09, version 4.5*

The community chat is great. It puts people with others with similar circumstances and similar struggles. However, everything else is clumsy and non-intuitive. It’s not easy to track sober days. It’s not easy to understand the statistical information that is gathered. It’s very easy to break a streak of recorded sober days accidentally and therefore seeing you back to zero - very demoralising! My advice - if you want a supportive community, give it a try. For recording and receiving accurate and easy to interpret data, try something else. Disappointing and demotivating app.

### 2/5 — Angry and frustrated! And yet…

*2021-11-22, version 4.4*

This is a great app and surprisingly helpful in keeping me focused on my goal. However, it deleted my sober streak because I hadn’t logged in for a week. I’m ticked off because this was a hard-earned effort and watching the number of sober days accumulate was a major factor in keeping me on track. Now the app has reset and I’m back to zero. $&@(!!. Also, there’s no support or option to contact the developers or moderators within the app to ask questions. Super frustrating!

### 1/5 — Review

*2021-11-02, version 4.4*

Really not happy with this app , how people can rate it more than two star is unbelievable. It doesn’t help anyone , it’s just a very very long stupid questionnaire .

### 3/5 — Could be so much better

*2021-10-26, version 4.4*

I am on my second month of this app and while I would say it has helped me rethink my drinking, it could be so
Much better if it offered a group moderator or even encouraged people to take more of lead.

The chat service has so much potential, but the app is dropping the ball on this.

### 1/5 — Subscription

*2021-10-18, version 4.4*

I signed up for a 1 month subscription but was charged for a 6 month. There is no go on how to contact someone for support about this. Otherwise this is a good app and I’d give it many more stars. If someone can give me contact info for me to remedy this I would gladly change my review. Otherwise I tell others to be careful about subscribing.

### 1/5 — No evident way to stop payment after free week!

*2021-09-17, version 4.4*

Hunted everywhere thru this app. Cannot find a way to stop payment.

### 1/5 — Bogus app - don’t bother

*2021-08-25, version 4.3*

This app said it would help me and help my progress of not drinking.
I never talked to anyone. I never had someone reach out and care. This app is bogus and a computerized way of making money. All I got with this app were computer questions that led answer to more questions.
Not just a diagnosis ….a way to lead you into more of an online trap

Don’t waste your time here

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ripped off

*2024-04-02, version 5.9*

Downloaded this app to check it out and they started charging me for it. Didn’t realize that just downloading it to check it out meant you agree to pay $15.93 per month. Never used it, forgot about it and now I see they’ve charged me for 3 months. $50 stolen.

### 1/5 — Ew

*2024-03-16, version 5.9*

At first, I loved this app. It gave helpful information to assist in quitting drinking, puts you in a support group with other people that use the app and has a tracker for calories saved/$ saved/drinks had.

An irritating aspect is that the tracker is not a “running total” of these items. I would like to see the tracked items saved to date instead of the tracker resetting back to zero each week. But I could live with that. Now when I post in the online group, none of the posts are saved! It’s quite frustrating when you’re asking for help/feedback from someone just to go back into the app and see the post didn’t even register in the system. I’m emailing this company to ask for my yearly subscription money back, don’t waste your time trying this one.

### 1/5 — Charged me without approval

*2023-11-30, version 5.8*

My card was charged for a full year during the trial period. They will not get back to me. I’ve tried contacting them several times.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-10-08, version 5.8*

Just purchased this and I cannot click on my personal profile or the group tab in the upper right and left hand corners respectively. I have the new iPhone 14 pro. Maybe it has to do with the new island feature? Either way it doesn’t work so I’m going to get my money back.

### 1/5 — iPhone Issues

*2023-10-05, version 5.8*

App functionality does not work well with the new iPhones. You can’t select the profile or group links at the top of the screen.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2023-01-05, version 5.1*

Why does it take 20 minutes of questions for the app to disclose that it want me to pay £18/month?
As a heavy drinker I spend £150/month but the app says I will save £900. Apart from that it looks promising, but by hiding the subscription cost it has undermined my faith so I may need to crack open a bottle now!

### 1/5 — Cash

*2022-11-19, version 5.0*

It lets u waist A half hour setting up then charges $20 a month or $99 a year. No free trial. Don’t waist time unless u plan to spend

### 1/5 — Claims to have a free version but it’s a lie

*2022-11-08, version 5.0*

Never able to access the free version, only sticks on the “try DH premium” and won’t let you skip, say no, pass it or anything. I probably would have tried the premium once I got a feel for the app but this was either a deliberate bug to force people to pay right away or bad programming - either way not interested anymore.

### 1/5 — Monthly fees, buyers beware

*2022-01-19, version 4.5*

This app wouldn’t let me change the date for my “sober days.” I started a little bit ago and decided I’d like an app to track. Once again, they charge a fee monthly, every 6 months etc for like $20 a month. No thanks.

### 1/5 — Not free

*2021-11-18, version 4.4*

If this app creater really cared it wouldn’t charge so much to help people. I wasted an hour filling everything out only to find out I can’t afford the app. Useless

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-11-03, version 5.8*

This app is very helpful in multiple ways to cut back or quit drinking. It’s been well worth the fee and my reduction in drinking more than makes up for the money spent. It has a great online community of supportive members who encourage each other, share triumphs, challenges, and tips. It also has a bunch of “lessons” based on cognitive behavioral therapy and other models that you can do and re-do at your own pace, and as many times as you need. It has great tracking tools to track drinks, alcohol free days, urges, downsides, and benefits. Finally, it has great tech-support. There’s a contact form if you have any questions or problems with technical glitches, and they have been very responsive and helpful. Whether you want to quit or just cut back on your drinking for whatever reason I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — A

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2022-01-03, version 4.5*

This has been honestly a life saver

### 5/5 — Really helpful

*2021-06-03, version 4.2*

I’m not an alcoholic but I do drink more wine than I should- especially since the pandemic started. This app is GENIUS and really well thought out. It has really helped me learn about why I drink and has given me tools to smarten up and stop drinking . It actually works. Thanks to the creators of this app - you’re saving people’s lives.

### 5/5 — First day: glad I signed up!

*2021-04-16, version 4.2*

Really

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2021-03-31, version 4.2*

This is the first app that makes me feel like a real person. It is personalized, easy to use, and for the first time GIVES YOU A SUPPORT GROUP WITHOUT FACEBOOK!!!! Thank you!!!

### 5/5 — The best app out there for this subject

*2021-03-06, version 4.2*

Love the set up and how easy it is to use

### 5/5 — Connecting

*2021-02-13, version 4.2*

Nice to connect in this Covid life. Good for me to evaluate my stats

### 5/5 — Disappointing app

*2021-01-01, version 4.1*

I find interesting the interactive lessons and the content. The tracking method lacks perspective: a 30 month visual calender would be more useful. Finally, I would like to be able to opt out totally from the groups. I did not like to be totally ignored by some group members.
