### 1/5 — Terrible App!

*2021-09-18, version 2.1*

What an illogical app! Organizing places of interest in alphabetical order makes no sense.

### 1/5 — Too frustrating. Keeps crashing

*2019-10-18, version 2.0*

Crashes all the time. Especially when trying to use individual state info. Wisconsin has an audio option which would be great to listen to while driving but it crashes and you have to start all over agin and then it crashes again. After four attempts at listening to one point of interest I gave up.

A great idea but it needs a lot of work.

### 1/5 — What a shame

*2019-07-30, version 2.0*

This app has a lot of potential, but does not recognize my device’s internet connection making it pretty useless.

### 1/5 — Lots of Glitches

*2019-06-24, version 2.0*

I read others reviews and high great hopes that the technical issues would be fixed by now. Not so as the app crashes, message pop ups no internet connection and poor search function. I’m very disappointed 😔 I love the Great River Road and was looking for an app to help find places of interest.

### 1/5 — Had High Hopes

*2019-06-16, version 2.0*

Everytime I try to view interest by state the app tells me I need to be connected to the internet - which I am - the app then closes

### 1/5 — No State info

*2019-05-27, version 2.0*

When trying to access the state information it says no internet connection available when I am connected.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2018-05-23, version 2.0*

All the problems Minhala review talks about. Could be so good but ended up being aggravating to use. Deleted after trying it.

### 1/5 — Map doesn't work

*2016-06-15, version 1.0*

Compass feature will not "find me" on the map. Not very useful when trying to navigate-I'll stick with a paper map instead.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Map not working

*2024-06-15*

Map does not work - looks like it’s been this way for 8 years based on other reviews! Just wasted a lot of time trying this app; then sent email to ask how to use the map. We will see if I get a response.

### 1/5 — Wrong info, map does not display

*2024-06-14*

The battle of Port Hudson LA during the civil war is listed as having taken place in 1893. And none of the maps display at all

### 1/5 — Update: still doesn’t work

*2024-04-07*

Pointless exercise- don’t bother.

### 1/5 — Maps do not work, which is the main reason to load this app!

*2024-03-28*

Maps just spin, and nothing! This app is pretty useless with no maps!

### 1/5 — No map!

*2023-10-06*

So frustrating. The map won’t load. Help, please! We leave this Sunday.

### 1/5 — Maps Don’t Work

*2023-10-06*

Again great idea but the maps will not come up

### 1/5 — No connection

*2023-09-30*

The app doesn't work. Just a spinning spark that never connects.

### 1/5 — Route map needs points of reference

*2023-08-27*

Needs points of reference like towns names on the map screen. Just seeing the road is pretty much useless.
A paper map would be more helpful than this app.

### 1/5 — No usable map

*2023-08-01*

The first thing a user wants from this app is missing. Namely, a usable map that shows where the darn road goes! The app was clearly created to sell and showcase the attractions. But it is absolutely worthless if it does not provide a map of the road. I’ve taken two motorcycle rides on the GRR, and I have not used the app at all. What a miss!

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly

*2023-07-22*

App crashes every time I open the map. That doesn’t make it very useful.
From the reviews, it appears these problems have been unaddressed for at least 4 years, so my expectations for a fix are low

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Useful

*2019-06-10, version 2.0*

I downloaded the app for a trip down the Great River Road and used it more than I thought I would. It helped me stay on the route and find some interesting rest stops.

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2019-04-13, version 2.0*

The app has a wealth of information but isn’t as well organized or intuitive as it could be. Please enable file sharing so users can plan a trip more easily!

### 3/5 — Crashy and a pain to navigate.

*2017-09-15, version 2.0*

I love the idea of this app, and the map is very nice. However, when you look for attractions such as wineries, instead of displaying the results on the map it gives a list. All well and good, except if you click on the website there is no way to get back to the list when you're done other than going back through the menu and redoing your search. Same if you use the Show Location on map button. Which, btw, is not displayed for all attractions. So I tried copying the website link and opening it in Safari. Except then when you try to go back to the GRR app, it crashes and you have to redo your search AGAIN. It gets old quickly.

### 2/5 — Great idea but doesn’t work

*2023-10-01*

This app is a great idea but it needs bugs fixed. No matter how many times I deleted and reinstalled the app the map portion never did work. It would load the river road, but none of the state lines, other roads, or any other information - just two squiggly lines on a blank page which wasn’t helpful at all. Some good information in some of the menus, but I had to go look at other maps to figure out where they were. I hope the developers fix this app because it would be great if it actually worked!

### 2/5 — Directions to sites do not use portions of the river road

*2020-07-24, version 2.1*

I decided to ride the river rd from the headwaters to St. Louis to finish a road trip from the west. I like the app. However the directions to places in the app do not follow the river rd map. When you click on directions it takes you to major roads this defeats the purpose of using the app.

### 2/5 — Good idea but needs update to fix issues

*2019-08-16, version 2.0*

The app is useable but one entire menu section “State Travel Information” is broken. The links will take you to the state’s website and as soon as it loads a box pops up and tells you that you need to be online. And of course you do and of course you ARE, but the app is blocking you from accessing the info you downloaded the app to get. Not cool.

The other menu options DO work and so it’s still worth getting, it just is not as good as it could be or pretends to be.

### 2/5 — Problem

*2019-03-26, version 2.0*

Nice idea, but when you search certain things, it says you need to be online which I am.
