### 4/5 — Fun for all

*2020-03-19, version 3.1.0*

I love playing this while driving with friends & family. The only thing that could make it better would be during tunetime or questions about songs would be if the actual singers sang them. Other than that it’s a great app and a lot of fun. The cost is a little steep. Worth it if you spend quite a bit of time on your drive though.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2019-12-31, version 2.8.1*

I absolutely love this app! I use it all the time! In the car, while cleaning, and at work. I love the daily trivia because they do a great job at explaining the back story to the questions and why that was the answer. I’ve learned so much off of the daily shows! I don’t even listen to music anymore in my car because I would rather play this game, makes me look forward to my commute. Highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — Not as angry in rush hour traffic!

*2019-09-27, version 2.5.3*

I love this app! I wish the premium wasn’t as expensive as it is but I do understand you are getting a lot of bang for your buck given all the extras you get. The daily free trivia usually takes me through the worst of my 50-55 min commute so I’m happy with the free version for sure. I 💙 the hosts because they make me laugh and make the ride far more enjoyable. Just consider me a Drivetimer for life!

### 5/5 — No more drunk swerving

*2019-09-27, version 2.5.3*

Ok so I’m not a drunk driver but you ever see that person that just for a second swerves to the side of the road? The person that your thinking oh hey there must be something in the road? Yah that’s me. Touching my phone for any reason. This game has helped me keep my hands off my phone so much! And I can still play while my gps is up! I absolutely love this app and most definitely the drive time daily quiz. Those two are so peppy that it rubs off on me and I can’t be grumpy... even when I’ve forgotten my coffee! 😲

### 3/5 — Loved it at first but...

*2019-09-22, version 2.5.3*

I can’t stand the tune time! I have a really hard time recognizing the songs because they are not the original artists and are sometimes off key. I suppose there’s probably some legal barrier to using the original songs, but some of these covers are horrible. I used to play pub trivia regularly and would always nail the name that tune round. I’m sad that I subscribed to this solely for the tune time only to be disappointed!

### 5/5 — It’s okay but needs work.

*2019-09-08, version 2.5.1*

I loved this game when it worked. But I basically need perfect cell service for it to work. Two bars of cell connection doesn’t work. I was angrily yelling at my phone trying to get it to register my answers. It was infuriating. I would consider paying to have unlimited games except I can’t play on my commute to/from work because I rarely have more that 2 bars of cell service at any given time. I’ll just go back to listening to podcasts on my commute....they will load with 2 bars of service. This game won’t.

**Developer response:** We are sorry to hear this! Please email support@drivetime.fm and we can dig into this for you.

### 3/5 — Requires crazy high reception to function

*2019-09-04, version 2.5.1*

I love the concept and when the game is working I like playing, but it needs an extremely high level of cell service to function. Which, while driving in car isn’t really an option.

When the game can’t hear you because of low reception, it repeats and repeats itself. I like that better than the game just turning off, but can make you angry when you can’t play.

This morning I played and it lost reception about 8 times when my phone showed I had full to near full service.

### 3/5 — Bummer

*2019-09-03, version 2.5*

This is app is a lot of fun, and the only one of its kind, I’ve looked.

That being said; it costs WAY too much money ($9.99 a month) for a trivia game. There is a free version but you get 1 episode a day (24 minutes long) so you have to chose drive to work or drive home, and my commute is almost an hour, so I did the free trial for 7 days, you can play as many episodes as you want and it was great, but when my trial ended I couldn’t justify $10 a month for a game. Maybe $10 for a lifetime, but a subscription it’s over the top. I also notice that when my trial ended, the game started acting up. It’s never on the right day so sometimes I’ll use my free episode and then it will get stuck for three days and it will say I’ve already played, so I can’t play for three days. I tried to clear the cache, sign out, and redownload the app to no avail. I think this concept was great if they would fix the issues and pricing.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you enjoy the app! We have a LOT of great new games and awesome content planned for the app over time, so we are confident that everyone will feel that the subscription offers great value for money. Please stay tuned, and happy Drivetiming!

### 4/5 — Lots of fun!

*2019-08-20, version 2.4.1*

I have been playing Drivetime for about 2 months now, and it really helps to pass the time on my nearly 1 hour commute. I wish that they would do two shows a day, as people need to drive home too!

My only suggestion would be to look into the voice recognition service. While having good reception and saying the answer loud enough, I have been marked “wrong” on numerous questions, even though I got them right.

All in all, I think it is a great app! Other than the voice glitches, I would highly recommended it!

### 5/5 — Make the commute enjoyable

*2019-08-07, version 2.4*

So much fun. This app helps me unwind and relax while driving on the 405 fwy. Everyone who lives in Southern California knows it is called the 405 fwy because you only go 4 or 5 miles an hour. Before Drivetime, this was a frustrating commute. Now it entertains me, makes me laugh and I learn new facts. The hosts are all witty and fun. The facts are fun and I learn something new everyday. I am a premium member after doing the free app for months. WARNING you will be hooked if you play it for a week.

### 5/5 — Awesome trivia game

*2019-08-01, version 2.3*

This fun interactive trivia game is a lot of fun while driving or playing at home. The two hosts are charming and witty. There is a new three part game every week day. Where each part is played by another person. This game makes this trivia girl very happy. Each question comes with music and or information about the question. It is a very enjoyable and entertaining game.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This is a rip off and I am going to go up the ladder until I get my $50 back

*2021-08-06, version 3.12.0*

I was told that I would get a week subscription for a cheap amount (I don’t remember the price) so I subscribed for my niece to have fun while driving and while we were listening and trying to play along, nothing would happen and the audio was horrible. It kept going on and out. Then this morning, I see that my card was charged $50. I only subscribed last night. It hasn’t even been 24 hours. What happened to the trial period?

### 1/5 — Until recently it was the best app out there

*2020-08-08, version 3.10.0*

I LOVED Drivetime. Fun trivia games you can play by voice in the car? What’s not to love. The hosts grew on me and the quizzes were creative and just challenging enough to keep my interest. I actually signed up for the subscription to play the older games. Then... all the daily quizzes just stopped. The hosts all have gone away and they keep promoting a way to “listen to music” instead of trivia. It’s a shame because during COVID, some trivia would have been a nice way to spend some time. I’ve cancelled my subscription, but will fondly think back to the app that this used to be. Huge disappointment

### 1/5 — Great game...terrible price.

*2019-08-24, version 2.4.1*

I hate to leave a one star review, but the price is much too high! $10 a month for us way too expensive unless you’re a truck driver. I play the free daily quizzes and love those on our way to school. Every other week we have a 12 hour round trip drive time and would very much enjoy being able to play a majority of the trip; however, the asking price is just too substantial to justify subscribing. If the price would drop, I’d happily give a five star rating and recommend to everyone I know. We love playing games and winning.

### 1/5 — Wow..

*2018-12-07, version 1.8*

This game is absolutely illegal! Play a game while you drive?! Like hello we have enough issues of people texting and driving and dying killing innocent children and people of all sorts. Now ur gonna throw a game on there?? I completely disagree with this and if this game isn’t taken down I will report you. I don’t care how many ratings ur game has or whatever. This is complete and utter crap. A phone can wait when it comes to driving. I can’t believe you would promote people on their phone while driving, even if it is ‘handsfree’. It’s still messing with your phone. I give you one week to get this down before I report you.

### 2/5 — So many problems

*2021-07-02, version 3.12.0*

Ok, the idea that they were going for in this game, truly could have taken off, and yes although it does work, I would like to see a lot of changes. For starters, it should not cost near as much as it does. The daily challenges are not near long enough, and surely not worth $10 a month. Second of all, the game itself it super laggy, and half the time, did not even pick up my answers. Not to mention that the hosts became much too talkative. It no longer felt like a trivia game, but like a talk show. Don’t recommend.

### 2/5 — Started out great!

*2019-08-15, version 2.4.1*

So my kids and I love the “Would you rather” section but we quickly came to the end of available questions. We would like to replay it for fun but it just stays “congratulations, you have finished all questions. We will let you know when there are more.”
Also, with storytime, the concept is great but they only ask you a question about once every 30 minutes. Kind of boring and the stories are in no way short. Which is a bummer when you figured it out in the first 10 minutes.
My last gripe is with tune time. Once you start a game, it will not let you end and choose another genre until it has gone thru all 20 songs. Saying “quit” or “new game” does nothing.
Gratefully all of these things happened before my 7 day free trial ended so I didn’t get sucked into a monthly subscription.

### 2/5 — Long

*2019-07-27, version 2.3*

While the questions were fun, I just wanted to know the score/end the game and get on with the next “theme” and they’re giving shout outs to who the heck knows? I’m sorry, I don’t care about Dave’s birthday, or some person needing to get their kid eggs.... Just move on already! If I wanted to listen to a full-on radio show I wouldn’t be playing this! I also agree with another user, an offline version would be better, I know I lose reception in certain areas on road trips. Review is so low because of the time it took to find out my score at the end of the game.

### 3/5 — Used to be better

*2022-05-30, version 3.12.0*

When I first downloaded this app it was awesome. You could subscribe for extra quizzes and the like but there were daily free trivia (like 2 or 3 a day if I remember correctly). Now there’s ONE free quiz and I’ve done it so I don’t want to play it again so the app is basically useless unless they update the format. The price point is too high for me to want to subscribe for a trivia game.

### 3/5 — Fun for Long Drives But Buggy

*2020-06-18, version 3.7.0*

I downloaded this app because I tend to get bored on my hour commutes and I already like listening to trivia. I love the games and the snippets but don’t play to use this app if your drive will take you anywhere rural or where your service will go to anything below 4 bars. You could be screaming directly into the microphone and the app won’t pick it up. It’s very sensitive to this and will go out on a big highway in the middle of the city too. The creators seem to know this though because it says “you may have lost signal” and repeats the question instead of marking you wrong but it’s still frustrating. The app also doesn’t work as harmoniously with Apple CarPlay as you would hope. The creators must also know this because they have a prompt for that too. The content is currently a little bit on the slim side for its monthly price tag but it does look like they’re actively working to add more.

Unexpected plus side - I would say this app would be great for people that are blind/cannot use apps and games that rely on visual cues only. It seems like it’s very accessible with its voice prompts.

TL/DR: great idea but needs to be improved upon for its price tag.

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing. We aim to make the Drivetime experience as consistent and high quality as possible, which results in requiring a stable connection while playing. You're right about the content, we're adding and improving on our content library every week! If you have any other questions or concerns, you can contact us at support@drivetime.fm and we'd be happy to address them. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Fun App, Needs Improvement

*2020-05-25, version 3.5.2*

I’ve had this app for a few days and have enjoyed it with a few caveats. While it’s fun to play, poor service on the road means it cuts in and out; I wish there was a download option for the quizzes to avoid this issue. Also, I find myself annoyed at how slowly the quizmaster speaks, it would be awesome if the app user had the ability to adjust the track speed—similar to that in a podcast app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I love this app!!

*2021-10-17, version 3.12.0*

I came across while looking for ways to entertain my bf and I on a long road trip. Wasn’t expecting anything good, just something to pass time. A few minutes in and I happily paid for a subscription, something I rarely ever do! This app is so fun and great, I can’t recommend it enough!

### 5/5 — I like it! Road trip version?

*2021-01-02, version 3.11.0*

I like this app! I’m always for learning new things and random facts! I have one question, does this keep going and going if let’s say a person were to drive for 7 hours in the car? If not I think it would be great if it could give us questions from previous days, just keep getting questions from days that we missed or in the past because I can see how this can be used as a good road trip game! 😄

Also, could you make an offline version? I’ve played this a few times now and it’s lost connection once I leave my WiFi area. And I can’t exactly stop driving and reconnect, and I don’t like to check my phone while driving either. Thank you! :)

### 5/5 — Love it!!!

*2020-08-23, version 3.10.0*

Update: I’m so bummed that they ended Drivetime Daily Trivia. I loved it. I’ve kept my subscription a little while so I can go back and play older episodes I’ve missed until I run out, but since they stopped new episodes the app is plagued with glitches. 75% of the time I can’t download the episodes I’m trying to.

I love Drivetime! It takes my mind off the commute and I’m learning so much random information. My BF is tired of me saying “on Drivetime today I heard...” I don’t have a consistent M-F commute. I got the premium so I can play episodes on the weekend from days I missed during the week. Well worth the price and I am a cheapskate.

### 5/5 — DriveTime Trivia is a “Game” Changer!

*2020-07-06, version 3.8.0*

First started playing on a long car trip and our family is completely addicted. We play as often as we can and frequently find ourselves taking an extra lap or two through the neighborhood to squeeze in the last few questions. Fun, entertaining and a MUST for any Trivia lover.

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2020-05-12, version 3.5.0*

Really well done app. My commute is over one hour each way and playing DriveTime and Jeopardy really make the drive go by faster. I actually look forward to the long drive to work in the mornings. I occasionally run into some cellular dead spots and the game has to pause for a few minutes but it’s not too often and it is really not the app’s fault, I suppose, so if you have really poor reception on your phone, you might get a little frustrated. Me, I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Home office commute!

*2020-04-06, version 3.2.0*

Drive time keeps me sane, now working at home has a clear destination and path to follow.
I used to commute into work and listen to Drivetime, then Coronavirus hit. I needed to realign life to working at home. It was hard to get started. So I followed some recommendations to clearly delineate my work time at home from just ‘being home.’

Drivetime is my commute app, it’s what sets apart my home office (that does not have doors) apart from my home.

### 5/5 — I love Drivetime!

*2020-02-21, version 3.0.0*

This is my favorite app that I use daily. I get a big kick out of hands free trivia. The hosts are very funny and say interesting facts between questions. The 3 free daily quizzes take about 25 or 30 minutes and you can pause/stop or start as much as you want. This makes me reAlly enjoy my commute. A big thank you to Melissa, Liam, Allison and all the producers of this show!

### 5/5 — Great fun!

*2020-02-07, version 2.9.0*

If you told me 6 months ago I would be excited to pay $50 for an app I would have said you were crazy, but as soon as taxes come back I’m doing just that! I love the quizzes & cant wait to be able to do past episodes.... a bunch of different games to play AND I haven’t gotten sleepy driving at all while playing (for me that’s a huge thing) LOVE IT

### 5/5 — Sometimes doesn’t hear the right answers

*2020-01-20, version 2.8.1*

We answered a simple question correctly ‘donuts’ was the answer and it said we got it wrong and the answer was donuts. We ended up loosing instead of being tied at the end, it was an open ended question. There should be a review process where they repeat your answer back at you to confirm it heard correctly. This is frustrating to hear them say your answer after telling you it was incorrect :(

**Developer response:** Oh Nuts! We hate when that happens. That is a great feature idea! While we sort out how to make it into a reality know that anytime you have a voice recognition issue on a critical question you can always email Support@drivetime.fm and we can update your score. That way you can keep your spot on the leaderboard. Thanks for taking the time to write in and let us know how to improve.

### 5/5 — Great game for my commute

*2020-01-03, version 2.8.1*

I got tired of listening to music during my commute and was looking for something to wake up and engage my brain in the morning. DriveTime is the perfect way to start my day with some new trivia facts, some fun banter between the hosts, as well as a little competition with other commuters on the road! Thank you for this amazing game...it’s made my commute actually enjoyable!
