## What is DriveMail Voice?

DriveMail Voice reads your unread emails aloud so you can stay informed without taking your eyes off the road. Designed for drivers, commuters, and anyone who wants a hands-free email experience.

HANDS-FREE EMAIL
DriveMail Voice fetches your unread emails and reads them aloud — sender, subject, and body. No looking at your phone required.

SPEAK AT ANY TIME
Say "skip" partway through an email and it moves straight on. "Mark as read", "reply", "forward" and "summary" all work while an email is reading or after it, with your screen locked or in your pocket. DriveMail ignores its own reading voice, so an email can't set off a command by itself. Every button still works if you'd rather tap.

CARPLAY SUPPORT
Works seamlessly with Apple CarPlay. Start listening the moment you connect, and use the same voice commands from the driver's seat.

VOICE REPLIES
Reply or forward using your voice. Say your message, hear it read back, and say "send" — all without touching your phone. Forwarding reads the recipient's address back before it sends, so a name that sounds like someone else's can't slip through.

AI SUMMARIES
Say "summary" to hear a quick AI-powered summary of a long email and decide what needs your attention now.

SMART READING
Automatically skips signatures, legal disclaimers, tracking links, and other irrelevant content so you only hear what matters.

MULTIPLE EMAIL ACCOUNTS
Connect your Gmail, Outlook, and iCloud accounts. DriveMail Voice merges all your unread emails into one stream, oldest first or newest first — your choice.

PLAYBACK CONTROLS
Pause, resume, skip, go back, replay, and read at 0.75x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x or 2x speed.

MARK AS READ, SKIP, OR TRASH
After hearing each email — or partway through — mark it read, reply, or leave it for later. Deleting is off by default; switch it on in Settings and emails move to your account's Trash folder, never permanently deleted.

PRIVACY FIRST
Speech recognition runs entirely on your device and audio is never recorded or sent anywhere. There is no backend server — DriveMail talks only to your email provider. Emails are cached on your device using iOS file protection so they're encrypted at rest, and cleared when you remove an account.

REMOVE ADS
Enjoy DriveMail Voice free with a small banner ad on the home screen, or unlock a clean, ad-free experience with a one-time purchase of $0.99.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.12 — 2026-09-29

Fixes for silences and audio switching.

• Moving an email to Trash is now instant. Before, a slow server could hold things up long enough that the next email never started reading.
• If your hearing aids or headphones briefly disconnect while you're in the car, reading now picks back up on the car speakers instead of going silent.
• Headphone users with hands-free commands turned off: dictating a reply no longer switches audio to the iPhone speaker.

Thanks to the customers who reported these.

### 1.0.11 — 2026-09-17

Fixes for dictated replies and the reply screen.

• Dictated replies could repeat a sentence you had already said, adding it to the message a second time. Fixed — what you say now appears once.
• On the reply and forward screens, the keyboard could push Cancel and Send behind the status bar at the bottom, with no way to scroll to them. Those screens now scroll, and you can swipe down to dismiss the keyboard.

Thanks to the customers who reported both.

### 1.0.10 — 2026-09-15

Fixes for how audio is routed.

• In the car with hearing aids: email headers played through the car speakers while the message body jumped to the hearing aids, switching back and forth email after email. Fixed — playback stays where it started.
• On headphones: audio could come out of the iPhone speaker even though the app could see the headphones. Fixed. Wired and Bluetooth both play in your headphones, and if they have a microphone, voice commands use it.
• CarPlay now always uses the dark appearance, so the controls look the same in every car instead of washing out in daylight.

Voice commands still work with the screen locked, on every one of those.

### 1.0.9 — 2026-09-10

Headphone audio fix.

If you listen on headphones — wired or Bluetooth — audio could come out of the iPhone's speaker instead, even though the app could see the headphones were connected. That's fixed.

DriveMail now works out where you're listening and sets itself up to match:

• Wired headphones play at full quality, and if they have a microphone, voice commands use it.
• Bluetooth headphones play at full quality. If they have a microphone and you use voice commands, the audio switches to call quality for the session — the same thing your headphones do on a phone call, and the reason your commands are heard from a pocketed phone.
• Headphones without a microphone play at full quality, and the iPhone's own microphone listens for commands.
• In the car, nothing changes.

Voice commands still work with the screen locked, on every one of those.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-03

CarPlay controls, redesigned.

• All the controls for the current email now fit on one screen as a grid — Reply, Reply All, Forward, Skip, Mark Read and Replay — instead of a list that could scroll off the bottom of your car's display.
• Replay moved to the main screen. It was buried behind "More" before, and it's the button you want most when road noise means you missed a line.
• Pause/Resume and Skip are now pinned to the top of every CarPlay screen, so you can stop what's being read without hunting for the right screen first. Pause turns into Play so one button does both.
• "More" is now a grid too, and only holds what belongs there: speed, refresh and stop.

On iPhone, the buttons at the top of the Home screen are reordered so they read left to right in the order you'd use them, and adding an account is now a plain + instead of hiding behind a menu.
