I tested this Driver app for a few days but I was disappointed with the limited features. The app doesn’t provide basic video editing options such as trimming clips, doesn’t support a motion sensor feature, and automatically breaks recordings into 3 or 5 minutes segments. In addition, video cannot be uploaded to iCloud Drive. These limitations made the app unsuitable for my needs, so I had to uninstall it. ### 2/5 — Not impressed *2026-07-09, version 7.0.1* I more than likely will not be renewing my subscription after my 6 month period. According to their own information, this app needs to be the only thing open for it to work properly. I’m a delivery driver who requires my delivery app and the navigation app to be open. I have had the recording stop more than once, because I needed these two other apps. Unless and until they can fix this, I will not be renewing. This app is not the only one required while traveling. And the other features aren’t really even necessary. I’ll just use my camera at least I know it won’t just stop recording. ### 2/5 — Improper Recording Orientation *2026-06-29, version 7.0.0* Seems incompatible with WAZE. With Driver running, iPhone held in portrait in order to bring WAZE to the screen, then landscape to mount in holder. Older vehicle w/o CarPlay so must show WAZE on screen while driving. ### 2/5 — Yo *2026-06-14, version 6.10.1* No ### 3/5 — Works great—-when it works. *2026-04-04, version 6.9.6* Been using this app a few years now and it’s always worked pretty well but recently you’ll not record and start driving only to see that the phone screen has blacked out and gone to sleep and that the app hasn’t been recording. This has been happening mostly since Feb 2026, so it must’ve been broken in an update or something. The only other issues I’ve had is using my phone to play music to my car with Bluetooth. Sometimes doing so freezes the app or stops the recording. Other times it’ll record but my music won’t play until I hit Next Song. Only happens with this app. I could live without the music working but the app randomly stopping recording with no notice or anything is dangerous. What if I have an accident only to find out there’s no dash cam footage because the app decided to stop working on me? I like that track so much information and automatically uploads to the cloud, but I’ve been having issues lately. In January of this year, the app stopped uploading my trips with no explanation from the developer. Also, while my driving has remained the same over the years, my “driving score” has dropped precipitously in recent months for no apparent reason.
