### 5/5 — MUST HAVE tool for Computer Repair & Support Pros!!!

*2009-06-14, version 0*

This is absolutely the best way to educate your customers about hard drive failures. DriveSaver helps your customer understand what has happened when a drive failure occurs... and may convince those who haven't lost a drive to start backing up their data before they do! The simulation is dead on - graphics, sounds, even drive vibration are accurately reproduced - your customers may even exclaim "that's exactly what it sounded like!"

### 5/5 — Great information

*2009-06-14, version 0*

What a great way to visually present and explain information that a non-computer person would normally only hear and probably not understand. Very useful to see what's actually happening and great suggestions as to how to protect your data and files!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2009-06-13, version 0*

Even non techies that only know drivesavers from 60 minutes etc can find really helpful computer safety info - or how not to need drivesavers!

### 5/5 — Super tool!

*2009-06-12, version 0*

Does a fine job of illustrating the mechanical and electrical inner-workings of an HDD when the unthinkable happens. Moreover, it's a neat tool for informally discussing data protection & recovery needs with my customers; eliminates the need to pull out a formal powerpoint or leave-behind!

### 5/5 — Great App

Really useful info. Everyone should learn from this App.

### 5/5 — Finally!!!

*2009-06-10, version 0*

Now I know what happened to my hard drive when it crashed. It helped me understand the inner mechanics and workings of my drive. I just discovered the secret 'shatter the platter' feature too. fun!! Wonderful educational tool..a must for all computer users out there who procastinate on making regular backups. It makes me want to back up.

### 5/5 — Useful app

It's very important to know how to protect HD from failure.

Very cool, educational, and free.

### 5/5 — DriveSaver

This app is an excellent way to show customers how their data is actually stored. The app works as advertised. 5* from me.

### 5/5 — OMG THE BEST APP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*2009-06-10, version 0*

Nice app helps a lot!

### 5/5 — CEO

Very cool app! Awesome window into the workings (and failings) of hard drives. Keep up the good work Drive Savers!

### 5/5 — What a cool app!

*2009-06-09, version 0*

I always wanted to crash a drive and see what happens! How cool!

### 5/5 — Gnarly pics

*2009-06-09, version 0*

The app let's you see what can happen to a hard drive (choose how u want to crash it), has a lot of good protection tips, but I really love the gnarly hard drives with destroyed (but recovered!) data.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ad

*2026-03-07, version 3.8.2*

It's just an ad. Don't waste your time

### 1/5 — I like it!

*2010-05-19, version 0*

Sure beats hearing your own hard drive fail!!! I've been inspired to backup today.

### 2/5 — Hard drive simulator?

*2019-09-30, version 3.3*

What happened to the hard disk simulator feature of the app? I used to always use the DriveSavers simulator app to demonstrate to people the importance of backing up data and how there were many different ways drives could fail at any time.

### 2/5 — Limited usefulness, is an ad for the company

*2009-06-12*

Could be useful for IT support people to explain to someone why their drive is now toast. Half the app is just a big ad for Drive Savers Data Recovery.

### 3/5 — Good sounds aren't great

*2012-05-17, version 1.1*

Good app for demonstrating however the sounds don't sound realistic at all it'd be nice to have them sound more accurate

### 4/5 — Great visual aid

*2010-02-14, version 0*

Makes explaining HD failure easier for clients to understand.

### 4/5 — Needs free play

*2009-06-17, version 0*

Break it how itsays

### 5/5 — Far above what I expected

*2020-07-28, version 3.6.1*

The iPhone module alone is worth the free download. Chipset clusters are clearly identified and the data storage differences between SSD, HDD, and Raid, couldn’t have been more clear.

I would love to see improvements to the liquid and physical damage simulations. I think people would understand why liquid damage is so destructive to device hardware with better hardware.

Great app and worth the download

### 5/5 — Very Educational

*2019-03-07, version 3.0*

I'm always amazed at how little people know about how their data is stored. Irreplaceable memories or data are just spinning away on a hard drive, or sitting on flash on a phone. This app goes a long way to bridge that knowledge gap, so you can show people what's happening with their data. Great app!

### 5/5 — Blowing my mind

*2013-11-11, version 1.1*

This app could possibly be the best thing to happen to data managers everywhere!

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2010-04-18, version 0*

What a great app to show people who are not in the know what is wrong with their computers!!! Love it!!

### 5/5 — Great Product!

*2010-03-04, version 0*

Very informative application and well designed to illustrate the various symptoms associated with hard drive failure. There is really something to be said about how well designed this application is. Most importantly, it's a visual aid that can be used to show clients what some of the physical and mechanical issues are that affect hard drives. Bravo!

### 5/5 — I saw a tech using this

*2010-02-24*

Took my machine to an apple hardware guy to find out what was wrong, and saw him use this app. Really interesting to find out how your own machine works when something bad is happening. Fun animations too.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2010-02-15, version 0*

This is the best app I've downloaded to date. Extremely helpful, well made, and free to boot. The slideshow was great. Thank you drivesavers!

Today at macworld in San Francisco. They called me up
To
Test the app!! I won some special stuff by just standing infront of a booth and helping this guy named Chris! ANY WAY nice app very useful!

### 5/5 — Wonderful education tool

*2009-08-08, version 0*

I carry it on my iPhone, and I think every tech should get clients to d/l it. Most of my clients have no idea about the complexities and inherent malfunctioning of drives. I workable backup srategy is essential. Recovery is possible, but backup and synching are better.
A welcome gift from DriveSavers!

### 5/5 — Great
