### 2/5 — Works, but bare bones

*2026-06-20, version 3.6.4*

Can’t even keep its downloads going when not focused. Try adding a notification or a live activity or something. Defaults to 3 simultaneous downloads which I suspect is bad for speed when files are large. Frankly, amateurish.

### 2/5 — Great idea but just doesn’t seem fit for purpose

*2026-02-03, version 3.6.4*

If they can get this working properly it’ll be really good. Sadly, trying to download stuff in bulk just results in endless errors and failed downloads

### 3/5 — Fair app, but not a true MacOS app.

*2025-07-20, version 3.6.3*

DriveThruRPG compiled the app for MacOS Catalyst, but it’s not MacOS-specific.
For instance, you can’t specify the library destination on MacOS.
Also, the app lacks an iCloud storage option for MacOS/iPad.
Their solution is to download a MacOS-specific version from their website, instead of bundling it with the AppStore Bundle.

### 1/5 — Multiple issues

*2025-06-07, version 3.6.3*

After installing, I synced my library and tried the “download all” button. After 24 hours it had downloaded less than a dozen PDFs, a few dozen had errors, and the rest were acting like they were still trying to download. There’s no progress bar for downloading so I couldn’t see if things were glacially slow or just stuck.

I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking I would try to download a few at a time. But now I can’t log in—I’m getting an internal server error.

Creating groups of items is clunky as is the app in general. Like the website the overall aesthetics and UX are poor showing a lack of fit and finish in a number of areas.

### 2/5 — Good Idea, Badly Implented

*2025-05-08, version 3.6.3*

I love the fact that I get inclusive PDF copies of books via drive thru rpg and thought this app would be ideal. Layout looks good but none of my files will download no matter the connection. Also instructions/graphics on the drive thru rpg home page appear out of date

### 1/5 — Too slow, and unreliable

*2025-03-15, version 3.6.3*

Essentially broken now. My library is large, but not so huge that it should just hang. I wish it would allow me to choose the location of my library so I could share a location on Dropbox.

### 1/5 — Completely Non-functional

*2025-03-12, version 3.6.3*

Aside from opening, this app does nothing. It will continually say you are not connected to the internet, it gives you the option to create “collections” but then tells you it failed to create them, but there is nothing to put into these collections because the app cannot connect to the internet nor find previously downloaded files. I would like this app to work, but it absolutely does not.

### 1/5 — No use at all

*2025-03-09, version 3.6.3*

Doesn't connect, refuses to sync.

### 1/5 — This App Stinks. Don’t get it.

*2025-03-08, version 3.6.3*

I recently purchased the 2025 Calendar of Many Adventures and downloaded this app so I could use the PDFs. The app won’t upload any of the contents and tells me to check my internet connection. I have tried this app out on my laptops, iPhone & iPad, and it doesn’t work on any of them. I feel like I’ve wasted my money on the calendar I purchased. I’m truly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t seem to work

*2025-03-06*

It says that I don’t have an internet connection after logging into my account. I would love to change my rating, but I would need to see what the app is supposed to do when it works

**Developer response:** Apologies for that! Can you give it another try now? There was a bug that we have resolved that might have been preventing successful login.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App wont launch

*2026-07-19, version 3.6.4*

The app upon opening flashes the “One book shelf” logo and then crashes. I have deleted and reinstalled, restarted and tried again. Neither worked. It’s a shame I can’t even try the app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t open

*2026-03-24, version 3.6.4*

Doesn't open

### 1/5 — Login doesn’t work

*2026-03-24, version 3.6.4*

The app doesn’t work at all! Login not working…

### 1/5 — My Library Change

*2026-02-20, version 3.6.4*

Sucks

### 1/5 — App won’t open

*2026-01-30, version 3.6.4*

App won’t open on iPad Air 2

### 1/5 — ‘We also have an app” but it’s clunky at best

*2025-11-08, version 3.6.4*

This is supposed to be a library/PDF Viewer. Keyword: supposed.

Despite it having all the information about systems and publisher, filtering only goes by title. There are no predefined collections except “Downloaded” and “Not Downloaded”. The search bar is tiny and has no “clear’ button. That all would be capable, but…

The built-in PDF Viewer is even worse. Pinch-Zooming behaves oddly, changing starting size at random. Quickly scrolling over the PDF for a visual search is basically impossible, since pages seem to be loaded when on-screen, and cache-cleared as soon as they leave the screen.

Guys, honestly, get a Nextcloud or Dropbox and put the files in there. You can organize everything much better, and have a smoother experience with the native iOS viewer.

For your own sanity, DO NOT USE THIS APP!

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2025-10-30, version 3.6.4*

Ever since the latest update, the app crashes on start and doesn’t work at all.

### 1/5 — 3.6.4 startet nicht mehr

*2025-10-27, version 3.6.4*

Die neueste Version 3.6.4 startet auf iOS 15.8.5 (älteres iPad) nicht mehr. Die Vorgängerversion hat noch problemlos funktioniert.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-09-04, version 3.6.3*

Struggle to download library on iOS, reported to devs and no response

### 1/5 — Cannot open files

*2025-06-26, version 3.6.3*

I’m trying to use this on my iPad (iOS 18.5). The good news is that I can sign in and download the PDFs I have bought. Bad news is I cannot for the life of me work out how I am expected to open the files up to read. Tapping on a title in the list just selects/unselects it. There seems to be no button or option that actually opens the PDF, whether in the in-app reader or in another reader on my iPad. Disappointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Much improved!

*2026-07-04, version 3.6.4*

The recent updates have solved the synching problem, after I deleted and reinstalled the app. It works well now.

### 5/5 — This is app is great! A couple minor, minor issues, but no complaints.

*2026-06-10, version 3.6.4*

I love this app, and it works very well. I'd say it works like it should and/or needs to.
It does have a few small to medium issues, but no app is perfect (most are not anywhere near that; good luck finding the few that are near-perfect).
For example, I occasionally have trouble downloading things, having to try again and again (several times, and rarely a lot) to get it to successfully download one, or a few, of my library purchases.
This is likely because of a poor connection or some other
non-app related reason, but it's hard to say for sure.
It continually shows an error in the downloading process, which can be quite frustrating.

Other than that, I no complaints or issues, and the Drivethru Library app serves my needs well (which are admittedly not that much in the way of needs).

### 5/5 — Exactly what I want

*2026-01-24, version 3.6.4*

Great way to organize my small-but-growing DTRPG library.

### 5/5 — Awesome but

*2026-01-21, version 3.6.4*

Awesome and amazing I use this and all of the books that I’ve purchased way way more with this app. Please if you’re listening app developer please add landscape for iPhones. Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Great app to keep my 2000 titles organized

*2026-01-12, version 3.6.4*

Really enjoy being able to quickly see of my collection on my iPad and iPhone, sync to my account. It's really nice to be able to only sync what you need on each device. Phone just some titles but my iPad, and computer has most of the titles to view at anytime.

### 5/5 — Very Useful

*2026-01-02, version 3.6.4*

This app has been great for downloading all the PDF's I've collected over the years to my various devices, all at once and in a relatively fast way. Thanks to the DTRPG app I now have all my RPG PDF's on my PC, laptop, tablet, phone, and e-reader.

### 5/5 — Keep in’ Track, Choom!

*2025-06-28, version 3.6.3*

Simple, concise & your downloadables are at hand when you’re on the go and need that one reference or character sheet for a Quick Look-me-up or print for the latest N00b who’s joining your campaign!

Could the PDF beta use some attention? Sure- but so far, it’s a decent start and I for one believe it can become quite useful in later iterations!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2025-04-22, version 3.6.3*

No more downloading everything to my Google drive and vice versa when I want to remind myself what books/rules/systems I want to revisit!

### 5/5 — Is anyone supporting this app? UPDATE

*2025-04-07, version 3.6.3*

So is there anyone supporting this app, or has it been orphaned? I cannot get it to work, it keeps giving me network errors.

Update 4/7/2025
The app has been updated and now works as advertised. Thank you for fixing it.

### 5/5 — (Updated) works and looks good

*2025-03-14, version 3.6.3*

I was able to download and read PDFs that I purchased on my phone, which is everything I want from the app! Thank you for the quick response!

(Former issue) It says that I don’t have an internet connection after logging into my account. I would love to change my rating, but I would need to see what the app is supposed to do when it works
