## What is Driving Rec?

This app is a multi-function driving recorder. It contains the following features:

1) This app could not only record images while driving but also record various driving data, such as driving distance, speed, acceleration, driving path, coordinates, altitude, address and driving time.

2) Weather information such as temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed, wind direction and rainfall are also recorded by this app.

3) Users could set loop recording to save memory space.

4) Users could set “Impact Sensor”. With this option enabled, the recording will automatically start and save when it detects impaction.

5) Units (Metric or Imperial) are customizable.

6) Users could also add text or voice notes to the driving data.

7) All driving data could be exported as csv format files for post process.

The best dash cam app I have ever used.

I selected this because the writeup said it had a loop recording--none of the other dash cam apps I was looking at said this outright. This means that you record a continuous 3, 5 or 10 minute segment, with the earliest parts of each segment always being overwritten to save memory. I set it for 3 minutes. However, on several tries, the whole app stopped at 3 minutes, and returned me to my iPhone 6 (I'm on iOS 8.0.2) home screen.  Essentially, it crashed. 

Moreover,when I checked the list of recordings, there was nothing on the list screen, even though it said that some memory had been used for the recording.

There's also a camera button on the screen when the app is active, to allow you to take photographs of the moment. However, after my test, after I had taken two or three photographs, they were not in my camera roll.

I had had high hopes for the app. It doesn't have too many bells and whistles, which is what I wanted. There's a temperature readout, collision notification, and a map inset (in my test, this wasn't giving a clear readout).

I'm willing to give the developer the benefit of the doubt, and I hope that the next upgrade will bring everything up to snuff. In the meantime, this app is not ready for prime time.
