Doesn’t display restrictions, surprisingly hard to use, newer drone models not supported.
Some features require you to input your drone model to help with drone weight vs wind conditions. Great, but many newer models are not supported. Lito X1, Neo 2? Nope. Not there.
If you want to charge such a huge amount for an app subscription at least make it workable. Honestly, truly useless and made me annoyed by being overly complex and yet somehow useless.
Don’t take people for fools if you’re charging them real money. Do better.

Hi there, First and foremost, thanks for leaving the review - it really helps me understand the pain-points for users and where I can make things better. It seems that the app fell short for you, and I'm sorry to hear that. I'm a solo developer from the UK and wanted to make an app that is useful to drone pilots like myself, which is why I created the app to begin with. The onboarding is to help users get an understanding of what the app offers, but it also sounds like that didn't quite deliver in the app either - I continuously tweak and modify the onboarding, so I'll look to improve it some more. I decided to put two maps on separate tabs as I felt it was a good way to separate for users who want to explore places to fly vs users who are interested in flight tools and airspace restrictions etc - I'll look to see if I can re-position it to be more intuitive rather than confusing though. I manually update the drone list, and appreciate I've not looked at it in a few months, so I'll have a look at that as well. Reviews and ratings really do affect the position of the app, and so I take all 1-star reviews very seriously. I'm sorry that the app didn't deliver for you and appreciate I do charge money for a service that has fallen short this time. If you'd like to get in touch to explore ways in how I can help improve the app, then please feel free by e-mailing me at HefferApps@outlook.com Thanks again Chris
Fantastic Drone companion app
The app itself is simple to navigate, graphics are lovely and colourful and the functionality is powerful without smothering you with data. Everything is where it should be and looks great.
The widgets are also fantastic - simple, colourful yet just dense enough with critical info that its not overwhelming. A quick 10 second glance tells me everything I need to know concerning weather.
Widgets are very important to me as I make heavy use of them in my many, many very specific iOS ‘Focus’. I especially love the widgets for ‘Flight Conditions’ & ‘Golden Hour’ 👌 so much so, that my page dedicated to just the various camera apps I have, also has Golden Hour. And I am strict with Focus modes - virtually zero cross-contamination of unrelated apps or widgets per page!
Overall, I would say this app is perfect for an enthusiast or even a professional pilot. Live traffic is a great feature (not that you’ll likely be flying near an airport anyway!). But ensuring you aren’t engaging in contested airspace with a plane or helicopter is handy. No fly zones, tall obstacles like turbines, protected national parks, wind direction/speed overlay on the map, flight check list & flight planner all work really well. But yes, I admit you can probably gather all the information this app provides for free, but having it all together in one place, not cycling through multiple apps or webpages and being able to rapidly access it is a real boon when you are faffing about setting up your drone and getting ready for a flight!
———————————
My only grumble is the price… £24.99 a YEAR or £39.99 for a LIFETIME membership… Granted its not the most expensive lifetime pass I have seen for these kinds of apps! But £40 is still a bit on the high side.
My second favourite drone app which isn’t quite as good (widgets aren’t as nice & it’s not laid out quite as cleanly) retails for just £19.99 lifetime. And if I am honest, I’m not sure this app (as fantastic as it is) is worth twice as much (Sorry Dev, even though you’ve done an excellent job)
I will think long and hard before I make my purchase and if I am honest, if I hadn’t found the other app first I wouldn’t even be considering it. I would have just bought this one.
So overall then, if you are a drone pilot that is looking for a simple-to-use but information-dense Drone Companion app with a user friendly and colourful UI - your search stops here. This is it.
Ridiculous

Hey, thanks for the review and apologies the app didn’t live up to your expectations. The onboarding is designed to help people understand what the app is about, and help set them up to use the app, but it obviously fell short for you. I did add a skip button to skip a large part of the process recently, but perhaps I need to make that more obvious. As for offering zero value, what were you hoping the app would offer that it fell short on? Would love to know more, it’s just me making the app, so any suggestions are always appreciated! Thanks.

Just wanted to let you know I’ve just made an update to change the temperature to Fahrenheit. Make sure you update the app to version 7.0.7 and then head to the profile tab, tap settings and you should see the option under the general section. —————————————————— Thanks for the lovely review! What a fantastic suggestion, I’ll add that as a setting in the next update. Thanks again!
