Customizable checklists are a huge plus! A suggestion for a future update…under flight logs, please add an “export all” function. Having to select all individual flights in order to export everything will be very tedious once a pilot has accumulated 50 flights (or 500 for that matter). ### 5/5 — Well thought out and up to date! *2021-11-23* Great app for anyone flying a drone in Canada. Easy to store certificates and license plus user manuals and other relevant documents. The checklists are comprehensive and customizable. Then I realized the features made it worthwhile, so I did purchase it, about 10 days ago. Now, as I easily enter and sync data between my tablet & phone... I'm truly amazed. I ALWAYS struggle when doing stuff like this! The Drone Pilot Canada App makes everything effortless! I have a ton of unrelated apps... but I've never experienced, or seen any app that does so much, and makes it so uncomplicated! The value of Drone Pilot Canada, Greatly Exceeds all Expectations!! Thank you! Difficult to explore areas you are not standing in, lots of manual swiping to go from Ontario to Yukon. I’d like to store the maps within my iPad enabling use in areas without cell coverage. Five star app! ### 4/5 — I wish it was beginner friendly *2021-04-24, version 2.5* I’m new to drone and bought a mini 2 which is under 250g. I bought this app because it is recommended in Canada. I like it because it is up to date and tells you accurately. Another thing that I didn’t like is I wish it tells you what it mean when there’s abbreviation. The “TC” not really sure what that means. And when I click to DJI the yellow circle is gone. Also another one is deleting the air craft that I added into if I’m not sure about what to put and will put it later on to edit. I couldn’t edit my first one and I was going to add a serial number but turns out I have to create a new aircraft. I would give it more like a 3 but since it is up to date and has built in checklists and also has the option to “Create Flight Authorization” which is useful in the future. ### 5/5 — You’ll Never Regret Buying This App!! *2021-02-14, version 2.4* Don’t be put off by the price. This is the only app you’ll ever want or need when flying a drone in Canada. It’s intuitive and clearly laid out. It’s easily customizable so you’ll only ever see the parts that interest you. The developer responds quickly to user feedback and incorporates suggestions into future versions. The author Don Joyce (DonDronesOn.com) fully supports this app on his YouTube channel explaining all there is to know. Highly recommended!! ### 5/5 — Worth every penny! Please help. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t sync between devices *2025-07-23* I just got this, and as of version 3.5 there is no syncing between devices. I switch between my iPhone and iPad a lot, so this is a fairly significant disappointment (considering the price), and I wish I knew about this before. There is a workaround, using the backup recovery feature but it is far from ideal and gets messy real quick. Im sure there is a way to link the 2 L **Developer response:** We have been working with NAV Canada to allow for integration with NAV Drone for flight authorizations. Unfortunately this is not available yet. ### 4/5 — Great app but still room for improvement *2022-09-28* This app has definitely had some thought out into it. Nicely laid out with plenty of documentation available to get you setup and going. Customizable checklists are huge for me! Would be great though if the app listed all the air space levels above your flight location as this is huge when conducting site survey and flight plans to be able to understand what’s up there in the event of a verticals fly away. Currently the app only lists the airspace class at ground level. But I could have class C airspace 1700 ft above that. Important to document and present on flight reviews. The font size in the pdf export of the site survey and flight plan could use a bit of clean up as my export had 3 different font sizes throughout the export. If I’m pay $60 for this, I’d appreciate a clean exported copy for my records. All around though a solid, well thought out app that covers the majority of what you need to get flying safely **Developer response:** In the event of a vertical flyaway, you should call the Area Control Centre for your FIR...no matter WHAT airspace is above you...so there is no need to clutter your Flight Plan with upper airspace details. The app does it all, pinpoints your location, shows you the aerodromes and heliports around you, tap on the aerodrome and instantly get all the info about it. You can store documents in the app and much more. It’s my go to app for all my Drone flights. From flight planning tools that output compliant reports that consolidate the information from the wide range of sources to robust customizable checklists and procedures that again, if used and followed, will lead to compliant operations and successful flights. The associated videos on YouTube make it easy to learn how to use the app to its fullest and to be confident in your processes. Can’t say enough good things about this app. 6 stars. ### 5/5 — Options missing. *2022-10-18* The options for TC. And DJI sRPAS / sub250g Do not appear on the app. They used to but stopped recently. I tried to report the problem via app support but it says i don’t have the app. Anything I can do to fix this. I got a response guite awhile ago. Was my lack of knowledge that caused the problem. I had the drone on one device which worked find but not registered on second device. Problem rectified. **Developer response:** The sRPAS / sub250 option will only appear if you have at least one drone in your list that has the Sub 250g option selected. The TC / DJI option will appear only if you have at least one DJI drone in your list.
