I have used it to program my Tello and is so cool when it works. When it doesn’t it’s so frustrating. For example if the drone crashes the when you try to launch the mission again(after aborting) it doesn’t do anything some of the times. You can’t save your missions unless you are logged in and connected to the internet! You also can’t change missions without first disconnecting the drone, getting back on WiFi with internet logging in then change your mission, then connect to Tello WiFi again to run that mission. If missions are saved locally we should be able to save and change missions without disconnecting from the drone. I would pay for this upgrade! ### 4/5 — Great app, watch your battery level *2022-03-22, version 3.5* Had a frustrating time the first go, the Tello EDU drone wasn’t running all of the code (parts of it though, kinda weird). I switched batteries and the app worked great. ### 2/5 — Can’t really use it. *2021-04-17, version 3.3* I don’t have much to say other than it doesn’t work with small phones like the iPhone SE not 2020 edition. The Ui on the top just mushes up together and won’t let me do anything. Always has been a bit finicky to connect but once connected, awesome app to play with Tello drone. Now after a dozen attempts, gets connected but then hangs with no ability to start new mission. Does not correct with re install. I hope this is quick fix as I love this app. ### 2/5 — Disappointment for Middle School Drone Camp *2019-06-24, version 2.1.0* The Tello drone ($99 value) was chosen for the camp at a PRESTIGIOUS university only to be disappointed using this app when introducing coding to program the device. Keep in mind the students are either Level 4 or Level 5, and wish to pursue a career in Engineering. So imagine their disappointment when they discovered major flaws when using the app. First was figuring how to connect it. Once connected, both the camera and the "Land at Home" features become inactive; so, Drone Blocks's Lesson 2: Dronie activity was cancelled. Having limited features quickly bored the students wherein the Facilitators switched to introducing Thinker CAD and 3D printing. The app needs to be updated ASAP!!! 👎🏾👎🏾 ### 4/5 — Tello camera controls! *2019-02-21, version 2.1.0* This app is great. I use it for my Tello drone. The one thing that I really wish you would add is camera controls. You can control the camera on other drones using this app but when you go to Tello blocks (The only one that works with the Tello drone) there is no camera controls. I cannot program it to record while doing pre-programmed commands. Other than this it’s a good app I just really wish you would add camera controls for Tello. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — I would love for this to work consistently *2024-02-29, version 4.1.1* Like other reviewers have said, when it works it’s perfect, but it very inconsistent. That’s a no-go when you have a classroom of students. The fact that you have to keep reconnecting to the internet and the drone to launch missions is the worst. After a few minutes learning how to navigate the app, our students had their drones flipping and “yawing” on command. We had a minor issue but reached out to the app developer who pretty quickly responded to clear up what we were doing wrong.
