I was able to follow instructions with projector and had little issues getting it to work. I’m not using projector to watch movies or anything so I don’t know how sound works. I use it to project a picture so I can trace it in larger size. When I connected my iphone through this device to the TV. The tv showed a bluescreen with some instructions to download this app drongscreen. Initially I thought that I would need to download and install the app to make the cable work. But this is not the case. The cable should just work without installing the app. It's been a hassle to make it work. But I eventually made it work using an old iphone 7. Connected an iphone 7 (other devices before iphone X may also work). Wait a few seconds, the mirroring should work. The app is not needed for this. But we will use the app to update the firmware. Install the app on iphone 7. Launch the app and wait for a few seconds. The app should show "connected". Then tap on the upgrade button to update the firmware. The update is fast, but make sure you don't lose power. I upgraded from v3 to v8. After upgrading, the cable works for my iphone 14 pro max.
