THE DAILY DROP
Every day at midnight a new album lands. Drop picks it from the music you actually play — deeper cuts by artists you love, one-step discoveries from the artists next to them, and genres you've been meaning to get into. Every card tells you why it was chosen: "You gave Blonde five stars — more Frank Ocean." "You said you wanted to get into jazz." No black-box algorithm; the reason is right there under the title.

Drop doesn't play music — it hands you the album where you already listen. Connect Apple Music and Drop learns your taste from your library and recent plays. On Spotify? Name a few favorite artists instead and every album opens right in Spotify. You can even use Drop with nothing connected at all.

When you come back, rate the record — half-stars, the works — and add a note if it left a mark. Every rating sharpens tomorrow's pick. Not for you? Say so, and Drop steers away from it. Already know the album? Log your verdict and get a fresh one, free.

Your streak steps out of hiding.

• Your listening streak now lives at the top of the Today screen. Ember when today's album is already in motion, quiet gray when the chain is waiting on you. Listening keeps it alive, not just rating, and an unfinished today never breaks it.
• Logged an album by mistake? Open any entry in your History and remove it. The rating and its note go for good, and Drop still remembers never to serve you that album, so cleaning up a slip can't cause a repeat.
• Searching in "Log albums you know" got much sharper. Some records hide from the album search entirely, so Drop now reads the song results as evidence: when the tracks agree on an album, that album jumps to the top of the list. If you ever hunted for an album you know is real and got everything but it, that's fixed.

The remove button came straight from the feedback form, days after the logging feature shipped. That's the loop working. Keep the reports coming.

You had a whole listening life before Drop. Now you can tell it so.

• Log albums you know: in your profile, search any album you've already heard and log it. Drop will never serve it as a drop, and if you rate it while you're there, a 4 or better starts steering tomorrow's picks immediately. New users especially: a few minutes of logging teaches Drop your taste faster than weeks of daily ratings.
• On Spotify? Your profile now points you somewhere useful. Instead of forever asking you to connect Apple Music, the header invites you to bring your Spotify listening in, which is the thing that actually sharpens your picks.
• Clearer import messages: when a stats.fm lookup can't find you, Drop now tells you exactly what's wrong, whether the username doesn't exist yet or the account is brand new and still pulling in your plays.

One album a day means one. Never twice.

• Fixed: a few of you were served an album you'd already rated. Under the hood, the same record can carry two different catalog IDs depending on how Drop found it, and the "never repeat" check compared them too literally. It now recognizes an album across every identity it might wear, and your rated and skipped albums are also matched by name, so even a re-issue with a brand new ID stays out.
• Small bonus from the same fix: "Give it another chance" on a skipped album now works reliably in the rare case where the fix above would have left it stuck.

Reported by a reader two weeks into their streak. Keep the reports coming, they make the app better for everyone.

You can't listen to an album that isn't out yet. Drop knows that now.

• The daily drop now checks the release date. A few of you were handed albums that don't come out until fall, which made for an impossible day. If it isn't out, it can't be your drop.
• Artists with only a pre-order to their name now say "Nothing new out yet" instead of claiming you've heard their whole catalog.

Life happens. Now the album survives it.

• Rate it late: a drop you opened but never got around to rating no longer vanishes at midnight. It waits in your profile, and rating it there counts fully: your journal, your milestones, and what Drop learns about your taste.
• Days you never got to stopped costing you albums. A drop you never even revealed quietly returns to the pool for another day instead of being spent unseen.
• Rating with VoiceOver in the new list works the way it should: adjust the stars, then save. The first swipe no longer commits half a star.
