The rewards system is very frustrating. Yes, you “earn points” but getting rewards for them is ANOTHER story. It’s been completely unusable this year. Every time I open the app it says “The app is busy”. The developer website listed in the App Store’s app page leads nowhere. They’re suppose to make gift cards available for redemption on Thursday at 12pm CST and it never works. I connected financial banking accounts so that I could earn points through the app and all the points I accumulated I haven’t been able to use because the weekly Thursdays gift card drop is a scam. I’ve had a reminder on my iPhone to be ready for them for multiple years now because I want to liquidate $85 worth of points I have and can never accomplish so. And now I can’t even access this app. The developers also don’t respond the support email they once did. This app has been a scam. They gathered my data in exchange for points that could be redeemed for gift cards and those gift cards never were truly available. ### 1/5 — App is down-Feb 5,2026 *2026-02-05, version 2.33.0* Haven’t been able to redeem any gift cards for more than a year. I have accumulated points I cannot redeem. It used to be good where I would accumulate points from shopping at specific stores and redeem anytime. Ever since the rule was changed to only redeem at 1pm on Thursday’s, I’ve never been able to redeem any gift cards. ZERO STARS DESERVED!!!!!!! When Drop first came out, it was excellent! Now it’s total trash and a waste of time. Why? Because they refuse to admit they don’t have enough gift cards to meet the demand and number of people on the app, so they make it a once-a-week chaotic free for all to “claim” one, but you can never actually get one. Before the app sucked, you could redeem at any time once you had enough points. Now it’s a strict competition and I’m beginning to believe there ARE NO GIFT CARDS, but they pretend they are just sold out because even when you log in early, around 12:50 on any given Thursday, they ALWAYS have some sort of crashing error then send a message saying all cards were claimed for the week and try again next Thursday. Today is April 18 and I have been trying for about DECEMBER to redeem. I have reached out to support and they offer no help whatsoever and just say to try again next time. I’m sure I’ll be deleting Drop soon ### 5/5 — Absolute JUNK now!!!! Don’t download!!! *2023-11-09* Horrible freakin app now. I’m so disappointed by this app I’ve been using it for years with no issues and great things to say. But around April this year I submitted request to withdrawal for gift card and about 3 freakin months later I was refunded my points just to be told they were changing how they do gift cards. So now you can only get gift cards on Thursdays and you have about 30 seconds (assuming your app doesn’t crash) before they “sell out”. You basically won’t get one. I kept trying every week and never got one. So I already submitted my withdrawal in April, three months later was told ehhh no we’re gonna change things, and now I can’t get one. My app constantly crashes when I try. Or they just sell out within seconds. I literally sit on the app 10 minutes prior to the drop time waiting and still I don’t get it on time. It doesn’t add up to me. I think this app is a scam now. And I I don’t trust it anymore. I’ve emailed customer service about my thoughts and they don’t care.. horrible customer service too. What they did to us in April was wrong. Everyone with this app should delete it. Or drop should go back to how it was. This isn’t working!!! ### 5/5 — Back to 5 Stars *2022-12-28, version 2.9.0* **Update 12/28 - Drop seems to have resolved this issue and the app is once again working, so I revise my review to 5 stars.** This app works great and I love it - when it works. I am having trouble on all devices getting the app to open, especially when connected to WiFi. It sits on the “checking for updates” screen and then cycling on the drop splash screen and never opens. If I can get it to open, I get to the place to activate offers and it just spins on “loading”. Today, I got in and made it to the activate offers screen, hit activate all offers and it told me it couldn’t activate all offers, yet when I scrolled down to the ones it didn’t activate, I could activate them individually. All of these seem to be recent issues as I never had these problems with the app previously and I have had it for a long time. Developers - please fix Drop - I’d go back to 5 stars if I could actually activate offers without opening and closing the app, toggling off my WiFi and now making sure activate all actually activates all available offers. ### 5/5 — Great app but many issues. *2021-06-25, version 1.80.0* I love this app, been using it for like idk 8 years.. however its not perfect. Lately i haven’t been getting rewards for drop spin offers for my purchases. I also haven’t gotten points for games i have downloaded and completed. I wrote in and sometimes they help but lately they haven’t been. Part of the issue is whenever we submit a help ticket; we can only mark “missing points” and we’re not allowed to tell them that we’re missing points for a drop spin offer (which are bonus points). So I think I’m being ignored because they think that I think I didn’t get points for a purchase or something. Anyways that’s why i won’t give 5 stars. Bc their customer service has declined a lot. I’ll laugh too if they reply to this review before my help tickets. At this point I’m not even creating tickets for missing points. I’ll just eventually stop using the app. ### 5/5 — There’s flaws *2020-10-16, version 1.65.0* I’ve had drop for about 2 years now. So far I’ve redeemed 5 gift cards, so it works. However there’s a few things that I don’t like now. 1. If you make a purchase and use Afterpay, which I like to use for spendier items, they’ll only give you points for that first payment. You’ll still end up paying for the full price, but you don’t get points for it. Stupid. 2. Customer service has gone down. Now you get an automated bot, and eventually you can submit a help request to a real person. But the response time is very slow and they don’t always respond. 3. Having to go into the app to search for the store you want to buy from doesn’t bother me THAT much but it is annoying. They did away with the power offers which gave you points passively, and that was a major draw for me using Drop to begin with. Overall, not the best. It’s greatly declined in usefulness as I’m not even getting the full points that I should be getting.
